Not really under standing the ws1 side switch, does the switch happen on the up input or the db2 input?

The up input is there to cancel the slither step Bryan goes into after doing b2,1~f. We do that because Bryan can't otherwise use db2 while in slither step. When you do the db2 fast enough after the cancel, Bryan will now lunge forward and under the opponent, forcing a sideswitch. This combo is very tricky though.
