Similar to the story of the original Super Mario Bros. 2, Stormy Ascent was cut due to a fear that it was too brutally difficult. Many people already complain about how unforgivingly hard The High Road was, so you can imagine the contempt that Stormy Ascent would've been met with back in the day.

I have so many memories playing this game with my older sister. I think it has the most unique bosses and the most unique overworld and the most unique art style in the DKC trilogy. The final fight is also really good. I liked how you needed to avoid the electricity while simultaneously having to hit K Rool with the barrels. Dixie was amazing in this game and it really brings her character to life.

Also, I really hate Piston It Away with getting that box gem. I already hate having to backtrack in Diggin It and Cold Hard Crash, but the fact that you gotta leave that one enemy alive and bounce off it with such timing to reach that height is a giant middle finger…

TBH, I’d much prefer Crashteroids over Mad Bombers, with having to shoot the two propellers off those constantly moving planes… And while Smokey and the Bandicoot sucks, the only credit I’d give it is the fact you can die in those pits unlike the motorcycle levels from Warped, cause imagine having to deal with the loading times just because you missed a crate…!

Crash 4s Cortex castle is my personal favorite, as well as unbearable and stormy ascent.

Same Trilogy) has 31 Level Gates, you can play Future Tense long before Final Cortex, it's no different than Stormy Ascent being unlocked when starting the game! But unlike Stormy Ascent, collectibles are out of the question simply because of the level hint shown in the loading screen: "With great powers, come great opportunities"

I totally agree that the N sane trilogy is better but you forgot some flaws that it have like ost is less worse than original and no option to choose the original Crash 1 jump is less higher than the original and the hitboxes of some enemies is awful like the turtles

I was about to THROW HANDS about Spaced Out haha, but yeah having a level that bad with the same namesake is dreadful

I would call banjo tooie one of the most subjective games ever as it’s heavily dependent on what ur looking for. If u want an interconnect world and want jiggles to feel more rewarding with more steps then just do this simple thing and are seeking a more complex adventure then tooie is better than kazooie. If u go into tooie and expect kazooie approach to its levels like u did then it will appear bad. Banjo tooie is not bad and as some have pointed out it seems like u tried to make some of the things u don’t like as objective flaws such as jiggles taking multiple steps or interactions from other worlds yet that can easily be a positive for others.

Forces of Nature is the level Coco decides to outrun the Avalaunche with a tiny snowboard. Sounds worse, right?

Crashteroids and Ice Station Bandicoot have some really good music, though.

You should do a segment on levels that are decent/good overall, but the most frustrating for completionist reasons. You touched on it with the length of Rush Hour, which is so much yup. But the Box Gem on Toxic Tunnels from C4? So hard. N.Sanely Perfect Relic on Run it Bayou? Mein Gott. Sunset Vista box gem on the OG Crash without save progress? Kill me. Platinum Relic on the Lab? Yowza. The totally unintuitive boxes in Native Fortress? Wack.

24:37 Sure, the original trilogy had some hidden boxes or obscure secrets, but at least there were only in a few levels. Meanwhile Crash 4 has them in almost EVERY SINGLE LEVEL in the game

Wizards and Lizards is top 10 of Wrath of Cortex, sure. But the entire series? No fricken way.

How is Bandicoot Pursuit not here? It makes some of those TWOC levels look great by comparison.
