16:18 By the way, Crash Team Rumble was not intended as an extention of Crash 4. To my knowledge, it was part of a bigger project that just happened to be developed while It's About Time was still in the works and share a bunch of assets. Then Crash 4 IAT came out in 2020, the pandemic made Activision think of Call of Duty Warzone more than any other project in their belt and Toys for Bob was one of their many development teams that were called to work on that project, meaning that Crash Team Rumble was put on hold and repurposed for the 2023 release we got later.
Yes, the game is sadly becoming unplayable when the server eventually go down. I would like them not to, but that's just how these online multiplayer games are designed; we want them to be goods that we own and have access to whenever we want while companies only see them as services which we can enjoy for a limited time (although it may be their interest to keep them active as long as possible especially if they turn out to be a good investment for them). I've heard of a campaign named "Stop Killing Videogames" which was surely addressing this kind of issues with game preservation, but apparently all we got from it is more awareness since companies still have the right to revoke access to our digital games on the basis that "we don't actually own them, we only paid for licenses that let us play them".
Although if anyone is actually even remotely interested in trying this game out at all, they not only need actual friends to play alongside with, but also a paid subscription. Yep, this game that you likely paid money for(not necessarily full price mind you but still) requires you to pay even more to even get to the main menu itself, and how much you pay also depends on how long you expect to want to play this game for. Yes, you do get other benefits in the case of PS+, free games, cloud storage and such, but if you never invested in a paid subscription up to this point, this game sure as fuck ain't enough of a reason to even waste money on it. It plays well, it has great ideas for sure, but when no one else is playing it, well...that's just it, why should you really? Just play other Crash games that have offline modes to play with that don't require a membership of any kind. You get more of your money's worth with those than with this.
I mostly retired due to burnout and motivational loss after the final update... and i kept getting into lobbies with jacked players. LaggyModem, KuroJet, and Ormin play fairly; but others, MrGemini and MrMarsupial in particular, see me and they'll spend the whole match beating on me... and they still win. Once this game hits Game Pass (it'll happen, it's inevitable), there will be a resurgence of players; which might entice old/retired players to return since they're not fighting the same players iver and over. A sequel would be benificial, expecially if TfB is at the helm again (and this time, being indie, no meddling from Activision); it could happen, look at Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, it was considered a failure but still got a sequel
Many people are still playing the game including myself (it seems like you haven’t done enough to look for Discord community servers which congregate to team up online), and aside from the executive meddling and online-only setup it’s an excellent time and not as bad as the nostalgia blind boomers make it out to be ! I main Ripper Roo and Catbat here but some of your information on characters like N. Brio is outdated as developments in strategies and tech with him have been made in the competitive meta. I’d also like to say that as someone who greatly enjoys both Rumble and Nitro Fueled, Nitro Fueled reused a ton of assets from the N-Sane Trilogy just as Rumble did from Crash 4 But even more than that, comparing the game to a historic tragedy like the Holocaust is tone deaf and uncalled for. Either way good video
Sounds like a good game, but what I didn't like is putting Crash face on it. Crash is about risky platforming, while Spyro fits it more; he's a safe environment platforming character. I don't seem to like the game, but don't mind it either. I also don't mind the devs trying new gameplay styles as long as they do it well without relying mainly of IP and nostalgia, and keep it separate from the original lore (it's a spinoff parallel universe type of lore). Is it a good game? I didn't play it, but doesn't seem terrible to me.
This is the classic game that you want to play with your friends, like lol i guess. The issue is that lol is free, this was like 40€ on release and was never available for switch, and i don’t think on pc either. I haven’t had the opportunity to try it, but its not really my genre. I’ll be waiting for another crash platform game without like 700 gems

Ripper Roo mains: 9:50
7:31 I don't know why but this is really funny to me for some reason.

Looks like the end of the Crash marathon came in!
They have said they had a future for crash for the next 5 years, I hope it never ends even if we get a break.

Coco at one time ruled the game before they nerf her wall lol.

I thought it was ok but there just wasn't enough to keep me invested in it😕
Really good video but the laughing around minute 10 was a tad bit annoying and loud.. and dragged on for a bit too long. But otherwise great video ❤
