Is Crash of the Titans GOOD? [Review]

- It has been a long time since I last played Crash of the Titans, and I remember liking it... but it was very different from what the Crash Bandicoot series had been doing up until this point. Despite that though, I remember enjoying the game... but the thing is, people change. I'm not a dumb kid anymore. Would I still enjoy this game now as an arguably functional adult? Is Crash of the Titans good? That's what I've been put on this earth to do. I hope you enjoy! :]

This game would be perfect if it was a spin off of Crunch or even Coco, where instead of Aku Aku being trapped it could be Crash, and also if some designs like Aku Aku, Uka Uka, Crash and principally Tiny Tiger hadn't been so changed.
I disagree with you that Titans should've been an new IP. Mainly since I think that would discourage existing IP with trying something new (whether or not it succeeded). Even for other people who likes this games: they don't say that every Crash game should be a beat-em-up from now on.
Even besides that: I still think it's still Crash Bandicoot enough to be a Crash Bandicoot game. Like Cortex being dethrone by Nina that represent Uka Uka being tired of Cortex's failures from previous games
@@slappybird4660 Crash 4 still has most of the fundamental trademarks from the main trilogy, and yet people says it doesn't feel like Crash.

I'm like you, i loved this game when i was a child, playing coop was very fun, i remember sometimes login in the second player just to check the pallet swaps of player two costumes.
I wish they had sticked with it and finetuned the experience in later instalments, i think it's a great beat em up/hack and slash for children.
Sadly I don't have this game since I gave away my PS2 to my cousins in South America.
Honestly, I actually liked this game despite the characater redesigns. Like once this game came out, my copy of A New Beginning started collecting dust. Like it has side content. Fun fact, if you beat this game in Hard Mode, you unlock Free Kick, which let's you KO the titans by pressing R2. I dunno about you but I think that's a cool 100% award.
I remember you saying that this doesn't feel like a Crash game. I dunno, I can't seem to agree with you on that. That's almost like saying that Paper Mario isn't a Mario game because it doesn't play like Mario 64 or Super Mario Bros on NES.
But I will admit, they should've not redesigned the characters. Not because I hate them (I'm not a fan of what they did to Tiny and Uka Uka), but because it makes the characters un recognizable to the general public. Crash doesn't have the same recognition as Sonic and Mario. So what made them think the general public is gonna recognize that Tony the Tiger (Frosted Flakes cereal) knock off is supposed to be Tiny???
I really do like using Aku Aku as a skateboard, it kinda reminds me of Twinsanity and Jak 2. It would've been nice to see time trial relics in this game, using the Aku skateboard mechanic.
I honestly didn't mind seeing Crash punch. I mean Mario uses punching in Mario 64 and he's not known for punching. In fact, most of Crash's moves in Titans reminds me of the move set in Mario 64. Like you got punching, kicking, and backflipping.
Sure the health bar may turn off many, but again Mario is known for eating mushrooms and shrinking; but he uses a health bar in Mario 64 and the rest of the 3D Mario games. In fact, Crash uses a health bar in the plane levels in Crash 3, Wrath, and GBA games, so what's your argument?
I might rebuy this game for the Wii, if you ask me, Titans is a better game than Crash Rumble.

@Teh69thSpartan I would have to agree with you there. The problem is, that Titans was made because sales flopped for Twinsanity. So when Radical took over the Crash project, they assumed that no one wanted the good ol crate smashing, crystal grabbing, time trial gameplay. And since social media was still primitive at the time, we could make our voice heard and be like "Please don't change Crash's gameplay"
@@BillyBob_McSanchez also Paper mario (the example you used) isn't even a part of the mainline Mario entries, but it's own spinoff franchise just like Mario Party, Mario Kart, Mario & Luigi, Luigi's Mansion, etc.

And yet, there's some people who say Crash 4 (the new one from Toys 4 Bob, not WOC) doesn't feel like Crash for some reason, even through it still has many of the fundamental trademarks from the 1st 3 games.
The Wii version is at 60 FPS, and doesn't have motion blur. It's even did the "point the Wii remote to collect currency" a month before Super Mario Galaxy
This actually points out a good reason why people didn't really like the werehog stages in sonic unleashed. The combat is so mediocre, the same as crash of the titans in a sense. But the jacking of titans creates a great change between normal button spamming in combat, and sonic unleashed really lacks anything like that to make combat more interesting instead of just the same punches over and over.
say what you want about the character designs, but uka ukas new design shits on the original, its more intimidating and badass compared to his original design which was just an angry square 💀
I do prefer Crash's new look over his original one, but that's it.
