I don’t use miter cuts and only do 90 degree cuts because they miter it so that it looks like a box instead of a frame. I’ve heard they might do it the other way but I have not seen a picture of it that way.

I don't think there is a problem because the aluminum structure is bonded to the flooring. The corner connectors don't have to hold everything together on their own.

We have not had any issues and the tape and floor definitely add strength. It is pretty wobbly until you get that tape on. The corner fasteners are very strong and if I were making a top like a frame and using the table top as the bottom of my vault then I would recommend the fasteners.

I play it a couple times a year. It is one of those games that fits the certain type of two player gamer. The person who likes the conflict and battle. I many times have too many players to really play it a lot.

We have a 4x6 in the garage with the legs and no sagging thus far. Most of our tables sit on top of another table so that means the structure of the other table is dealing with the sag. I would install a cross beam with the 1.5x1.5 extruded piece of aluminum to deal with a sag.

by the way “concept for kids” is a fantastic game for younger kids!

I have the hinges and metal in the garage to make a foldable table. They have been sitting for several months but I need to get back to it. I want a table that fits in the back of my Camry.

Yes, it is very different than Avalon. The hidden role part of the game is just a small part of the game and not the whole objective. For me Avalon is a big logic argument and the game gives me little cover to hide. Secret Hitler gives me more cover and Who goes there has so much story that sometimes you forget there is a hidden role until you get on the helicopter. Tortuga is played best when the Dutchman plays at 7 and at 9 so it is great fun with bigger counts.

Isn’t that crazy! We did this review at a time where there were a few expansions but not many. I gave away my Bruce Lee which even when I gave it away was running a $100. Who says games aren’t an investment … I just have trouble selling anything.

I did not realize how much a game vault makes everything better. I have been playing a few games in our camper/on the road/etc. and I really enjoy playing with a vault. It will make everything better.

I brought the deck with me on this trip. I’ve not played it solo but only with others …. Hmmmmm!

I believe that you could screw any cup hold on there. The tnutz ones make it easy to slide on and off but once you get used to the roll in bracket you kinda wish it wasn’t so easy to slide off. I would go for another cup holder option.

The achievements would be the easiest way to improve the game. Several ways are possible to help them out but I do agree that the disparity between 1st and 3rd is massive for something that everyone can do but it just depends who did it first. Good point.

They do stick out and they have not been something that has bothered me but I could see how a closer holder would be better. The roll in bracket only needs to be flush with the edge and it should work fine.

Hey Eric! First off, I'm impressed by the number of cameras you run at once for your gameplay videos! Absolutely insane! Second, I can't believe you run that many cameras while watching a baby monitor, while playing with a younger player, while interacting with your audience, and keeping the rules straight! Hats off to you sir! Truly impressive. If there was a TH-cam Olympics you would be a top contender. Third, our oldest turned 3 this year and our baby turned 1. She had a rough year of sickness, but seems to be doing better. Parenting is the epitome of the adage - It has been the best of times and the worst of times. Wouldn't trade this year for anything though! Fourth, how are your kids?

@@The-Game-Garage haha. I wouldn’t recommend doing all those things at once 😂 When we’re not streaming, the edit takes days. Streaming has really been cool, but not perfected yet by any means. Glad you watched! Any constructive criticism? Sorry for the sickness! Glad things are looking better! I can’t imagine. Levi has been sick (runny nose, coughing, fever, etc…) a handful of weeks so far and they were so rough. I can’t even imagine worse or longer. We only have Levi. He’s THE BEST! He’s 1 year and almost 5 months. He has all of my best and worst qualities 😭 He gets angry when disciplined and goes and hits stuff. It’s so cute, but we can’t let him know it. lol. We’re trying to work on that, but again, he is 1… only so much we can do. He has so much joy and is so affectionate. He loves to dance. Loves story time. Loves his new slide. LOVES BLUEY!!! You gotta watch Bluey. It’s actually incredible. There are episodes in Bluey that should literally win awards. It’s the only kids show I’ve ever seen that is actually entertaining, teaches applicable life lessons, and has real characters, plot, and music.

I have never attempted streaming. Seems far more difficult than recording and editing! As for feedback, I think your camera and angles are excellent. Love the card camera! Very helpful for the audience to understand the conflict better and be more involved in the drama. Two things. First, I think it would helpful if there was some way to get more visual interest in your background. Maybe your logo or something related to the identity of your channel. I know your in your house so you may not have the ability to put something up permanently (for dad and I, this is why we chose the garage. Gave us visual interest that tied to our channel branding without us having to decorate or build anything.) Second, and this one is hard, but for some of your videos (like the unboxing and tips videos) I think you could cut the down a little bit. Makes sense for gameplay to be less edited, but you may consider trimming down the other ones to keep them moving. Adds a lot of editing work, but really helps with audience retention. Maybe you've heard this phrase before, but I come back to it often as I work on a video. Its the phrase: "Murder your darlings." Dark? Yes. A bit macab? Yes. However, an excellent editing tip which basically means there are parts of every video that I think are really good. They are my darlings, but most likely no one else finds them as interesting as I do, so I should just edit it out. For instance, we had a whole discussion about the expansions for Everdell. I thought it was a good discussion...but didn't quite fit and we didn't add enough unique information to warrant keeping the 2 mins of talking. The more ruthless you are with your darlings the better. As a caveat, I have seen channels that do very well by not editing out hardly anything. Some like watching long videos. Some are good at being interesting for that whole runtime. So don't take this as THE way to edit. Just a thought. And yes! We watch Bluey! Fantastic show! Always makes me want to be a better parent!

@@The-Game-Garage great feedback! I constantly think about the background 😂 I’ve gone shopping and gotten quotes for neon signs, posters, metal prints, etc… haven’t found the perfect option yet. The neon sign is my favorite, but too expensive. I’ve tried getting some free art for promotional purposes but that hasn’t happened yet. Was waiting for the art to know how big I wanted my logo sign… and also, my wife has only recently given me full access to the room’s look. The editing is a good one too. I know lots of my audience loves the full long videos, but I’m sure if I cut the down time, I’d get more subs… but it’s also a lot more work. I’m not able to put too much more time into the videos. The other part is that I’m mostly catering to competitive play and people wanting to learn how to play more competitively. I feel like the quick edit gameplay videos I’ve seen don’t allow you to really feel the decision making process and be in the driver’s seat. I think you’re 100% right for unboxings and other non-gameplay videos… those should be tightened up. It is indeed hard to cut your darlings. 😭 With my streams, I’ll keep them full and uncut, because that’s the whole reason I’m streaming… to remove the backend. Makes posting for TH-cam doable with still making $ for my fam with a full time job. BTW, I guarantee you, that if you started a Patreon, you’d get some immediately. I didn’t think I would, and I did… I have lots of thoughts on it if you ever want to brainstorm/talk collaboration 👀 Would be super down. I’ll shoot you a TH-cam DM.

Neon Signs do look nice in backgrounds. I wonder how hard it would be to buy an LED strip and turn it into a makeshift neon sign...maybe "Captain" in cursive...or just LED panel covered with cardboard that has "Captain" cutout of it. Might work. Might not. I agree with you. Gameplay works well in long form. And its hard to tell. As much as I think the unboxing does well edited down, I think some enjoy seeing uncut unboxing videos since it can be a more extensive look at a game. I've thought about Patreon...just never thought it would actually be worth setting up. I'll have take a look at it again. Thanks for the tip (and for the homework)! I'd be very interested in asking a couple questions about Patreon and other things.

Bodie may be able to speak to this a bit better. We talked about this in the uncut version of the video but we were getting long winded so the expansion conversation ended up on the cutting floor. Bottom line is that Pearlbrook is not worth it but the others are ok. The base game is really plenty of game all on its own and the expansions don’t create huge value increases. I don’t think Bodie and Ember have played all the expansions so we may not be knowledgeable on all of the expansions.
