Hi there! My name is Leon and I'm a bit of a petrolhead! I've got a MK2 Golf GTI and a MK3 Golf GTI! I'm doing a build series on both of these. I've also got a Honda CB125F Motorbike and I'm filming my progress in the lead up to hopefully getting my full bike license! Going from someone who's never ridden a motorbike before to obtaining that full bike license.
It would be cool if you stuck around, subscribed and followed along my journey in mastering how to ride a motorbike and fix up my old VWs!

Trying (and failing) to find cool cars/motorbikes in Lanzarote! Holiday Vlog
So I went on holiday to Lanzarote for a week and decided to get out and see what cool/old cars and bikes I could find.. turns out not a lot really!!
Trying to get a new video out once a week, Tuesday 6pm seems my current uploading schedule, but this could change! Would love to upload twice a week 😁.
Follow along as I go from Beginner Rider passing my CBT to getting that full bike license! Videos in between will be me getting more confident on the bike and getting out to explore my local area.

Finally getting around to do some MK3 Golf Content and get it ready to be used this summer. First off is a nice cheap little mod, reducing the throw of the gear stick by installing a short shifter! I got a Brixton Cromwell 125 and it's much better than the Cb125f... 2 disk brakes with cbs...the engine is an Honda derivate, max speed 105kmh, nice acceleration, rpm indicator, led lights, bigger tires, better style modern Classic, cheaper than the Honda 😊 The white color of your bike is the best seen on this model...
I had a grom, have this as a hire bike, rear drum and bicycle tyres, rear brake peddle is trash only good thing is the tank is like 10L right
Can your Honda fit inside VW Caddy Maxi?
I have the 2023 R model. I was having the problem with not being able to put the bike in gear when i was riding it the first few days. Then I learned to keep the gear lever pressed down and release the clutch gradually. As you gradually release the clutch the bike goes in to gear or out of gear, (depending what you are trying to do) every single time. So I have no problem with that anymore. I just do the clutch release method.
Great video. Picking mine up today 2024 model in red. Definitely nervous havent been on a motorcycle since my motorcycle course 2 months ago.
I miss mine! I went from big bike back down to the CB125f for commuting, then back up to a CB500X. Don't get me wrong, I love the CB500X, and it'll do 200+ miles in a lot more comfort than the 125 used to, but I miss working the little engine and having to be on point with gear changes, and all the servicing was nice and simple to do at home with just a couple of fairing panels and the single cylinder. Tyres easy enough to mount on the rims. Really makes me want to get another 2nd hand 125.
I have the 2022 version, its honestly a top quality bike for anybody reading this and wondering if its a good choice, i honestly cant fault it and i havent had a single peep out of it. The only thing if being picks is it doesnt sound great, its got no 'umpf' to it, but is that really a big deal? Not really. But its honestly just a quality bike that if looked after it seems like it will just drive forever.
Completely agree! It’s an honest bike that’s PERFECT for learners. Like you said it has no umpf, but it’s a 125 and ideal for learners, so that’s not a bad thing!
Are you doing the A licence?
in poland we don't have those "mods", it's just one national examination procedure in two parts: square manoeuvrers and then city. Definitely worth riding before exam, it helps a lot, even if you ride on 125cc with exam is on 700cc
I’ll be uploading my video on me practicing for my mod 2 shortly if you can give it a watch pal 👍
Have you got your mod 1 booked mate?
Search 'LET'S RIDE motorcycle training' his videos are great. The U turn in the mod 1 is a bit different to what you're practicing here. 👍
Wicked thanks a lot Andy, that’s a massive help! Appreciate it 👌🏼
Hi, how much you paid for insurance? I’m looking to buy one of these after my CBT. Thank you.
Passed MOD 1 couple of weeks ago with no faults/minors which was surprising as didn't think I made the speeds for emergency stop and avoidance as looked at speed and was about 26 and thought 'oh shit ' lmao but was 54 kmh for emergency stop and 51 kmh for avoidance
Congrats!! How was it?!
@LeonsVlogsx actually went really well as felt easier then the training I done, did it at Birmingham garrets green and was left circuit that day
Just did my Mod 1 on Thursday this week, and did my emergency stop at 70 kmh, still a pass but bloody hell. Passed my mod 1, so only my mod 2 to re-take as failed at a junction, right turn , picked up two minors on my mod 2
@DevonGuyA38 omg 70kmh lmao, was it not doing a lifesaver etc before turning right or something? Bet you was gutted and not yet booked mine as still need abit more with forward planning etc
@@whicheverfour traffic light green, so moved into yellow junction box, waiting for green filter arrow on traffic light, traffic to my right still going passed, so no chance to execute my turn right, then light changed to red, by then I am in the junction box still with my examiner shouting go, go , go on a red light, if it wasn't for the major fault I would of passed with the 2 minors. Also I pulled over within a minute of starting my Mod 2, as I could hardly hear the examiner, all through the test I couldn't hardly hear him, unlike my instructor comms on my two day previous DAS course .. so all in all a shame, as passed my mod 1, and would of passed mod 2 apart from the major fault, you live and learn. Looking at doing re-test asap, although may have to be in Taunton, which is an area I dont know , but like anything as long as you ride safe and follow instructions, as Exeter doesn't seem to have any mod 2 re-test for at least 7 months or more ...
I passed my mod 1 other day, got mod 2 in 2 weeks
Nice one! Congratulations 🥳 get that Mod 2 done!! How was the Mod 1?
@@LeonsVlogsx I’ve been practicing all my slow manoeuvre’s on the trusty workhorse (cb125f), that really benefitted me. The test itself was ok, but the examiner I had was a d#*k 😂 my biggest trouble was the speed trap on emergency stop and avoidance, gotta get (or very close to) 32mph without looking at speedo
This bike was built for backroads :)
Can somehow change the back suspensions there are too tight I need something more soft
hello i got a question, you see, me and my friend are both 16 years old, and we are looking forward to buying a honda cbf 125 when we are 18 years old, so i would like to ask you, is there anything that feels kinda cheap or something that we should prepair our self for, oh btw looking great on the bike but thats all ty.
I bought mine new so in terms of used bikes I’m not 100% sure. But with my CB125F I love everything about it! It’s Honda so it’s well made and reliable. I hope you both get one!
@@LeonsVlogsx Thank you for your feedback, i'm 99.99% sure we will get one becuse of its fantastic Price Tag and quality i wish you the best of weather!🏍☀
I like your country roads; They show what your bike truly likes at country road speeds(45-55 mph).
failed the first one even though i've been driving some 20 odd years. Just some of the questions brain frazzled me with use of wording. Second attempt i booked and forgot about it so missed the test. Third time i scrapped through barely. It was brutal glad i downloaded an app to refresh some of my knowledge of highway codes.
It’s crazy isn’t it. I’ve been driving over 10 years and some of the questions in my mock tests I had absolutely no clue about! Glad I done them and revised a little. Congrats on passing yours as well!!
love the videos my guy, keep up the good work. i think you just forgot the links in the bio
I definitely did didn’t I hahaha sorry man will get this sorted out! Appreciate the love 🫶🏻
Just getting a second hand one
well done, feels great doesn't it :) i took my thoery before my CBT, coz i expected to do a DAS soon after and didnt want to waste time waiting for the theory inbetween, however I found the reality of learning how to ride properly and feeling totally safe a bit different to what i planned in my head lol, even though id had a car licence for over 40 years and cycled on the road for 50, so it was a year & 10k miles later on my cb125f till i did my DAS and got a big boys bike. probably a bit over cautious even though im usually a confident guy, but I'm sure you will do fine with the mod1 & 2 and know when you are ready, so GL and stay safe
Doing my CBT next week and picking a cb125 up the following day. Any advice you have for me learning the bike? How does it perform !
Good man well done treat your training as fun your half way there
I'll start with the bad news, I am not named Leon and i don't ride a white Honda CB125F, Congratulations on passing your theory test! As an older rider myself, it's so refreshing to see more younger riders go for their test. Loving your videos and will binge watch the rest of them, keep up the good work, and as always, ride safe people!
Just watched you vid and subscribed, I've just done my cbt and booking my theory test soon, how did you practice for the hazard awareness test...cheers
Thanks, appreciate it! If you search “motorbike theory test” you can go to the government website and you get an “official” theory and hazard perception. If not you can download an app and just practise on there! Once you get the hang of when they’re asking you to click it’s pretty easy!
@@LeonsVlogsx Cheers mate 👍 I'll go and have a go, what bike or you looking at once you've done your mod 1&2?
Congratulations mate. They will drum into you your shoulder checks/life savers during your training, until they become second nature. As you will need to do them on your test. Even riding in and out of the area during the mod 1.
Yeah I need to keep going at it and remembering to do it for everything 😁
i started doing motorbike type shoulder checks when driving my car to get the habit ingrained, and actually still do, even though i've had a full bike licence for a while now haha, i think it worked !!
Have you taken mod1
Not yet David, needed to pass my theory test first!
Well done and wishing you all the best with your tests. IT IS WORTH IT.
Thanks Dave! I cannot wait to finally get the full license 👌🏼
@@LeonsVlogsx are you doing the A2 or A ?
Congratulations, mate! :)
Thanks so much!
just booked my theory test, been riding about a week aand got a new cb125f too
Nice choice mate. Lovely starter bike’s.
Nice one mate! CB125F is the perfect beginner bike to learn on that’s for sure 👌🏼
Great to hear you got your theory Leon, congrats! 🎉👌 That's another rung up the ladder to big bike licence. Unless you're going to do DAS, you can sit your mod 1 and not think about mod 2 until anytime later after you're more comfortable with your roadcraft. AFAIK when you pass 1, it has the same expiry as your theory. Getting the experience on the 'slow speed' stuff for mod 1 will reeeally boost your confidence and thirst. Jumping onto a big bike has more balance so slow junctions etc are easier than the 125. You'll love it. I look forward to the 1k subscriber giveaway! Good luck to all Leons 😂
Cheers Doug! Appreciate it! One step closer! I have heard that the bigger bikes are more stable than the 125 so hopefully I’ll be better on one of those 😂 I’ll get looking up something good for the giveaway! All the Leon’s 😂😂😂
Congratulations on passing your theory! 🎉 I think some MotoLoot stuff would be awesome as a give away! Who doesn’t love accessories!
Thanks so much! Wicked thanks I’ll have a look on there and see what they’ve got to offer for when the time comes 😎👌🏼

Wow ! 3000 English Pounds. That's $Aust 6000. Wayyyy too much.
How much are they in Australia, Kevin?!
@ LeonsVlogsx I bought a new 2023 model of the CB125F last Nov. here in Melbourne - registered, ride away price of Aust$4200, just halve that for English pounds. 2100 quid ! I am also ride road bicycles, own 4 of them. Again same deal in yr country, prices are waaaay too much compared to here in Australia. In short, you are being rippedoff Big time ! I am 77 yo. Keen cyclist & motorcyclist, do I own a car ? - yes I do. Do I frive in much ? No I do not. Why ? Price of petrol, that's why. How much ? $2 a litre ! That 1 pound for one litre of petrol. Totally ridiculous. That's why I bought the Honda CB125F We enjoy good weather here in Melb. compared to Eng. And yes I have lived in yr country for 2 years. Scarborough Yorks 74 - 76. I was only a pup way back then. Winters in Eng. If I were to do that again I would surely perish from the cold. Have a great day mate & you take care out there - ok mate.
1000€ in India , 2800-3200€ in germany 😢
the black bit on the back of the front mud guard is called a fender extender amigo 👍🏼👍🏼🏍️
Excellent thanks mate! I had a proper brain fart when I was looking at it and just couldn’t think
Why wouldn't you have a CB125R for your first learner bike? More of a bigger bike feel to get you used to the size I'd have thought.
I totally get that! But for me personally, it’s out of my price range for a learner bike! I love the look of it don’t get me wrong, just not something I could see myself learning on. I think I’d get carried away with how nice and fast it looks rather than learning to ride 😂 Obviously this is my opinion and not everyone else will agree 🙂
@@LeonsVlogsx No, that's fair enough. I understand. Concentrate on getting the license and then worry about the bike. Plus,as you say, there is the extra grand or more to stump up for the 'R' that could almost pay for your license/tests/training. Enjoy and ride safe. Love your vids too BTW. Cheers.
@@marleytyledon’t forget the extra insurance cost aswell, the f literally does pay for itself in comparison
Love the new blue colour 👍🏻
I do love it as well! I kinda wish they’d done it metallic not matte, but it still looks nice!!
When i first passed my CBT no one told me about any signals from other riders, I was rather confused when nearly every other biker I passed gave me a nod and I kept panicking thinking some timing is wrong with my bike….quick google search solved the issue towards the end of the day 😅 I personally always nod!
Hi Leon! I’m currently looking at getting a CB125F myself as a replacement for my CPI SUV 125 as it’s quiet literally fallen apart under me 😅 I’ve watched plenty of videos and all of them have very similar views to ours which concludes my thoughts on the matter! I’ve heard from plenty of people that Hondas are reliable and I really hope they are as all I’ve done with this CPI is tinker and fix, having it almost 2 years now I’ve only done 1850 miles on it since basically new at purchase, it’s been sat in my drive for majority of the time, I cannot wait to get back on the road on one of these!!! Really looking forward to it! Great video by the way! Subscribed to follow your journey 😊
Hey! Sorry for the late reply, life’s been hectic! Did you manage to get a CB125F in the end? I’ve got a new video out today so thanks for subscribing and being here for the journey!
@@LeonsVlogsx hi thanks for your reply! No I’ve not got it yet I’ve been caught up in a house move so I’m quiet hectic myself haha, planning on getting it before the month is done however!
Like you I'm a fairly new rider and also own a 2023 CB125F. A few days a go I met up with a local group of 125 riders that I met via Facebook. I was interested to learn from the group that the general consensus regarding 'the nod' is that you always nod to bike riders, regardless of bike size or L plates, but you must never nod to moped riders lol. No idea why that's the attitude, but it does totally line up with what I see on the road. Moped riders never nod, 90% of other bikers do
