  • Well, today's ride was WINDY - glad I chose to stay around town and not venture out. I got a nod from a motorbiker and it got me thinking (after I got excited about it!), if you've passed your test, do you nod learners?!
    Drop a comment on what you think about the CB125F and if you've got one yourself!
    Trying to get a new video out once a week, Tuesday 6pm seems my current uploading schedule, but this could change! Would love to upload twice a week 😁.
    Follow along as I go from Beginner Rider passing my CBT to getting that full bike license! Videos in between will be me getting more confident on the bike and getting out to explore my local area.

    I always Nod at learners, they need the encouragement to feel they are part of a family and that being on 2 wheels is more than just a way to get from A to B

      @@LeonsVlogsx unfortunately there will always be those who believe they are better than others, but you just ignore them and maintain your own higher moral and social standards.
      After all all of us have been learners at some point in our lives

    I learnt on and own a CB125F. Great bike, comfortable, and easy to ride. I now also own a MT-09.

    Nice ride out and your camera is very clear, I always acknowledge every motorcycle. Don't always get the nod back but sometimes others are concentrating. No offence taken if they don't, and sometimes I miss the odd nod back also. Great channel keep on going, Ride your own style thats comfortable to you and your happy with and you learn every day. 40yrs riding and I'm still learning every day. Cheers

    I always nod, I passed my test at 50 in 2018 after years of off-roading, it was always nice when an experienced rider gave me a nod or just acknowledged me with a thumbs up on my ktm duke 125, it’s something I do now👍

    I took my CBT in December and bought myself a wee 125 to learn on. I have the helmet, gloves and boots but can't afford full kit so riding in track bottoms and a down jacket. I'm only getting the odd nod now, to which I enthusiastically wave back. But I'm going through the lessons now, slowly buying the rest of the kit and hopefully a bigger bike this summer. And once on a full licence, man - I'm gonna nod and greet every one of you, learner or not. This is a great community and very proud to be part of it 😊

    Owning a motorbike is an interesting experience. I only passed my CBT weekend just past (bought a cheap 2016 ybr125). Been working on it by roadside and the amount of peeps that stop to chat is amazing.
    Considering I've lived in this city for over a decade, I've never had so many random chats in a few days!
    Great vid, by the way!

    I've got one of the Marvel matt blue 2024 CB125F's. I love it to bits. It looks great. I'm also about 100 miles away from the bike's 1st service, so I'm looking forward to your next vids greatly. In terms of the less-than-kind comment about your riding, ignore the haters. It seems to me that real bikers seem to be happy to encourage new riders and offer friendly advice on the whole.

    That cb125f is a damned fine looking bike. It says something when a full licence holder like me is looking out for one. No way would I disdain anyone with Ls. How could I? They've passed an exam (CBT) which is no easier than the silly 2 part test I took in the 80s.

      @LeonsVlogsx  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

  • @leegreveson
    @leegreveson 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I'm on L plates since last June.(I'm late to the party, in my very late 40's) I watched loads of videos to get tips on position and slow manoeuvres and have only recently started big bike lessons. You've probably already heard it from elsewhere but it is so much easier on a bigger bike, even going slowly. I'm taking lessons on an MT07 and it's actually less stressful than being on a 125cc 😂
    I always nod, though there's different variations of the nod, must be some advanced know-how going on 😅 Some reciprocate some don't, but if there's an oncoming convoy of bikers, it's hard to nod back to each and everyone 😂

    i always nod & acknowledge everyone from learners to motorists who show courtesy, just like i say 'mornin' when cycling, and in both cases you only get a response maybe 80% of the time, but if someone doesn't nod back, it won't stop me doing it to the next rider i see as maybe some just don't know it's 'the thing to do', are too busy concentrating, and id like to think it's only in a minority of cases they are plain ignorant. As far as L plates go, it makes no difference, we've all been there, and good to see the next generation coming through, but i don't nod to the kids you see 2-up on a bike with no reg. plate wearing balaclava's, although one did wave to me the other day lol. GL

      @LeonsVlogsx  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Only had my full licence since last September I ensure to nod to all bikers including learners, would not allow that person's comment put you off you learning best thing to do is keep riding get with a school and listen to their feedback and not someone who possibly not qualified or possibly even skilled enough to comment. Even when passed test everyday should be a learning day - also recently completed a bike safe course through police really good and there is other advanced training out there, good luck with your journey 👍

    I took the Scooter to the supermarket to get Cat food this morning... (that sounds sad, but it was all I needed to take, and the Cat food fits under the seat perfectly) I thought about lane splitting at one particular intersection, but it would have put me in a risky position, so I waited... and a Guy on a Adventure bike decided he would do it anyway, but as he passed me, he paused, gave me a nod and carried on. Little did he know, I would normally do the same, but on a slow little moped, I'm waiting for a bigger gap in traffic thanks.
    I have actually noticed that when it appears that you are a learner, people give you more respect. even car drivers give you more room when they see the stupid yellow L plate on the back of the bike... I may joke about it, But I think having an L plate is a great Idea even when you no longer need it. other road users are wary of you because you might be inexperienced. Hahaha Don't tell them please, the extra large safety bubble is Awesome!

    In New Zealand we have the MTA, Motor Trade assured thing. So even though I can take my bike to work and do the service myself (despite being a Car mechanic not a motorcycle Mechanic) I can write myself an invoice etc for what I did, and be the warrantee is still Valid.
    Something I would be interested to see, is the slight culture differences between countries, Like the difference in how someone on a smaller adventure bike like the Sizuki V-Strom 250 SX is treated/ accepted by the sport bike riders.

I have 3 beasts and my daily is my Honda cub and when I'm on that, so many people don't return my nod and I have no L plates but, it's just because of what I'm riding. I nod or wave to all riders, Learners, scooters/moped, even the a-hole Harley riders who give you the middle finger back or just ignore you.

    Riding position is a Gray area...on the roads anyway... distortion's on the road,pot holes un even repairs....if your on a track position is highly important...so don't mind what that idiot said... probably can't even ride a bike....or knows very little...you do you ...😊

    who cares who nods or waves, who cares if your on a geared bike or on a twist and go. Just enjoy the 2 wheel experience people, young or old.

      I completely agree! It's just something that sprung into my mind when I got nodded at, thought it would make a great topic to discuss and that's definitely what it's done!

    Personally I HATE the rider nod, but I'll nod back if I get a nod first, because I'm not actually an a$$hole
    I did my own take on this, too th-cam.com/video/E0JbsLc0tfA/w-d-xo.html

    Apologies for not nodding, as from this weekend I will not acknowledge another rider(except fellow L players)🫡 ……stuck up fair weather bikers with an annual 500 miles under their tachometer think they’re better than me ….I’ve done 3k on a CBF125 and Grom since November on L plates 😁 wind,rain,black ice, diesel spills, broken fairings, bent handle bars,broken spirit, concussed…and you can’t nod back at me while your on your financed, less than a thousand mile insurance policy bike….…do one 😂🤣😂🫶🏼
