Enjoyed my CB125F until Feb 9th this year when I passed my test and chopped it in for my CB500F.
5 glorious months learning how to ride in all weathers which has held me in good sted for the 500.
She is still at the Honda dealers and I gave her a pat of thanks when I bought something there last week.
An ideal learner motorbike and if anyone is reading this, you would not go far wrong getting one to learn on.

i literally just bought one today in the dealers, the new matt blue colour, lookinjg forward to learning how to ride on it after doing my cbt last week

I like your country roads; They show what your bike truly likes at country road speeds(45-55 mph).
i bought a cb125f as my first bike and did 10k miles on it in just over a year on daily rides and tours (i dont commute) and i absolutely love it, regularly doing over 200 miles in a day easy. I'm selling it though for the simple reason i wanted to take a step up in my biking development and have a different experience, so bought a bigger bike when i passed my test, but i suppose i could keep it forever as i spend most of my time in the lanes enjoying the scenery and aint a speed freak anyway. The bike has started first time every time, returned 134mpg true MPG over the whole 10k (ignore the display mpg it's rubbish), and after putting bar risers on it and an air cushion seat is really quite comfy, no numb bum, and i'm in my 60's with a bad back at 19st and 6' lol. the only downside it the engine is pretty gutless when i try haul myself and saddlebag up steep hills, but only to be expected so not an issue, and i swear because it's been serviced on time and looked after, the engine is better now that ever. wish i had the space to keep mine, and wouldnt rule out getting another in future i suppose. I reckon you are spot on taking your time learning your craft on one of these and not in any rush to step up, as you just don't know what you don't know, as there's so much to learn, and no doubt you will end up dropping it at some stage, everyone does, so GL and stay safe
Over 10k Miles in just over a year wow!! Impressive numbers!! That's exactly it, I'm enjoying the journey and experience and trying to gain as much experience as I can before getting a bigger engined bike! Would love to keep mine as well if i'm honest.. We shall see!
@@LeonsVlogsxyeah, on one trip i did 1500 miles in 7 1/2 days, doing the NC500 and various outher parts of scotland, only thing i did was oil the chain once, and just couldnt have enjoyed it more on any other bike. mine's in the greenhouse under cover atm coz it hasn't sold on autotrader, but prob wrong time of the year, and a neighbour has said i can store it indefinately in her double garage if i want, so maybe i will mothball it for a while after all lol.
Just wait until you get people in the comments telling you those vehicles were nowhere near you, what are you complaining about etc... etc... People who obviously don't understand the "GoPro Effect"

That looked like a fun ride. You handled the various challenges calmly and with good humour. I had my new CB125F delivered on Friday and have managed a few ride-outs and have to agree that it is a funky bit of kit that raises a smile when you ride it :-). Keep the Vids coming .
Thanks dude! I find reacting to idiots in life with calmness and a bit of humour is the best way. Could of made me really angry and done something I would regret! Nice to hear you've got your CB125F! I can't really put a reason as to why I enjoy riding it so much, it's just fun?!

i just don't get it when i've seen comments from some reviewers that they are a bit boring to look at, as i think it's great myself, and m8's have also said they think it's smart. these bikes have everything you want out of a 125, and no-one does it as well as honda, they know a thing or two about making bikes for a market at a price, and this is pretty perfect imho, i even like the fact it's a simpler air cooled engine rather than what i think is overkill water cooled on some 125's that cost £1500 more. GL
@@Bob-ts2tu I've had one person calling it ugly. It's not the prettiest bike but it's a 125 learner bike! It's not meant to look like a BMW S1000RR 😂 I don't care about peoples opinions on it as I love it!
I have the 2022 version, its honestly a top quality bike for anybody reading this and wondering if its a good choice, i honestly cant fault it and i havent had a single peep out of it. The only thing if being picks is it doesnt sound great, its got no 'umpf' to it, but is that really a big deal? Not really. But its honestly just a quality bike that if looked after it seems like it will just drive forever.
Completely agree! It’s an honest bike that’s PERFECT for learners. Like you said it has no umpf, but it’s a 125 and ideal for learners, so that’s not a bad thing!
I'm a soft leather glove chap. Weather here in Melbourne Australia is still bloody hot, and it's 2nd week of Autumn !
Anyway I use Riggers gloves, they absorb sweat as well. Been 40 degs.C over the w/end. That's about 105 F and that's seriously hot.
Have same m/cycle, same colour too. Yes great machine.
Folk over there might say "must be marvellous living in Australia, all that beautiful sunshine" - well not in temps in the high 30's or higher.
Yeah I can't imagine riding in those temperatures everyday is too good! It seems like an ideal weather on paper but living in it is just not the same lol.

No way would I ride a bike in that temp. Not even a bicycle, no way would I even walk in that temp. Stay in the house with air con on - 😊

These are brilliant bike’s, I’ve come to grow a loving relationship with mine over the last few months.
I know when I trade it in for a bigger one ( either Honda cb500x adventure or the Honda rebel cruiser 500) I’m going to miss her very much and hope her next owner loves and take’s care of her as much as I have, will be like giving a daughter away on her wedding day 😢
I dread to think what I am going to be like come that day when it's time to either let her go, or keep hold of her forever.. I can't decide!!

You should be able to change gears while stationary, just let the gear pedal return to its resting place before selecting the next gear.
One of the best 125 and probably THE BEST 125 to start on.
I planned to get my A2 and buy a NX500 but now I think I'm gonna get one of these to get a bit more of experience and as a cheap first bike. Gonna try to commute on this now that the weather is nicer, it's gonna save me a bit of money.
Cheapest way to keep your hands warm is to buy hand guards. Very effective unless it is extremely cold and a lot cheaper than heated grips. It's not absolutely essential to change down as you approach a roundabout or junction. Just make sure you click down a few times before you stop. Your riding is very safe. The outstanding thing about the cb125f is its economy and range which are is exceptionally good and probably better than any other 125cc scooter or bike. I agree about the lack of USB port you mention in your other video, but absence of a rev counter is not terrible as you can hear very clearly when the bike is reaching stress level rpms.
love the vids mate, getting my 125 soon, yamaha xsr125 lush bike, bit pricey tho. was going to get the honda cb125f but its to small for me and slightly under powered

Hi! Good video. I'm thinking about getting one as my first bike. Is it powerful enough to carry a passenger? And taking power aside, is it a bike that can comfortably carry a passenger? I've read that the tyres, specially the rear one, are too narrow. I don't know if that has any implications at all.
I like the nice led bulb, it's a, err, nice led bulb.

Agreed I have one and the back tyre is way too skinny which makes it very unstable cornering spiritedly in the wet. I speak from experience as I own a 2023 which I bought new. It could be a combination of the slim tyre and the rather humble brand but it's not great. Also the suspension is really hard and acts like a pogo stick over uneven surfaces. I am 6ft 1 and 16st and I've altered the preload but it still doesn't help much with the simplistic springs and shock absorbers. It's very jerky in 1st too as are many Euro 5 machines. The only stand out things are the fuel economy and of course the reliabilty bearing in mind that being a first bike it is all new and exciting as any other bike would be 😅 it's actually one of the cheapest for a reason.

Yup CBT nerves here too. A LOT to take in but when you collect the bike and return home, what an achievement you accomplish.
I got my 2023 model coz it's cheap and what the riding school used and it's my first ever bike.

I'm 6ft and my lady friends tell me i look like I'm on a child's bike BUT it feels fine, I don't feel hunched and can do a 2hr ride before i need to have a little stretch.

Exactly same reason as me Doug, done my CBT on it so it was a no brainer for me. Roll on the summer so we can experience proper motorbike riding in the beautiful sunshine! I think mine is due a refill on fuel, next ride out will be filling up I reckon!

No, they don't care! Unfortunately, this younger generation seems to have been raised to be completely selfish in general. I was cleaned off of one of these honda cbf125 motorcycles in July 2022. I had a 9-month recovery, followed by months of physio. Apparently, the young driver didn't see me when he flew out of a side road. All young car drivers should be limited on the size of car they drive until 25 and be made to take a yearly 8 hour awareness course. A bit like us lorry drivers have to, and us 57 year old experienced drivers and riders that have to pass a silly cbt. The law is nonsense. I have to take a cbt to ride my 125cc bikes and I've been riding them on the road for years before it was introduced due to boy racers. It's absolutely shocking! Or just another revenue for the war on the innocent motorists.
