It’s a very valid issue. The people who do this shouldn’t be allowed to abuse the system. However, judging by the comments here and comments in similar vlog in the internet. A rising unreasonable anti-immigrant is taking shape. Especially anti-Indian or to be more correct, anti-South Asian sentiment. Just read the comments. Instead of the issue being a specific anti abuse of the asylum program, it’s becoming a general anti-Indian sentiment. And the language are becoming downright racist. We should be more circumspect in this. Are we fanning the flames and becoming, without intentionally doing it, anti immigrants ourselves? Just because we are already here and we’ve ’paid our dues’ and ‘gone through the legal process? And you know who else are being unduly affected here? The legitimate asylum seekers. The subsidies are there to help the legal asylum seekers. Just the same that most get instant healthcare the moment we land. The same as we get child subsidies. It's important to remember that refugees are people who are often fleeing war, persecution, and extreme hardships. They come to Canada seeking safety and a chance to rebuild their lives. They contribute to the economy, enrich our culture, and deserve our compassion. Let's approach this topic with empathy and consider the facts instead of giving in to fear or misinformation. These students who are seeking asylum have obvious found a loophole and are abusing it. But a lot of videos on this issue seem to blurred (unintentionally) the difference with them and those who are legitimately trying to escape their country and the situation they were in.

No matter how much we applaud manong guard for doing his job, it is the Canadian law that set these as misdemeanours. Yung iba ang threshold is around 1k bago makasuhan. But theft is part of the insurance the store pays. Loss due to theft can be paid by the insurance. The cost is lower compared to lawsuits, inconvenience on the store. Kung namatay pa si manong guard magbabayad din ang store. Sadly, this is law here. 😢 And it's not worth risking your life over this.

I think they should look at it in all angles, refugees, international students, working visa and tourist visa for it not to be abused.

Suggestion sa police departments/government. Sa sobrang diverse ng Canada, dapat kada police area may commitee nga nag ddecide ng claims ng suspects na hinarass sila ng police.
