@emmylourojo3654 Harper lost votes from Filipino communities because he imposed limits on migration. He wanted to make sure Canada would have enough housing jobs, and that the medical system could absorb the numbers. He was hated for it, but look at the mess we have now, with jobs, housing, people can't find a family doctor, etc. Thats the problem when people only see the benefits for their own and do not care about the impact of their actions.
Graduates or fails to graduate. Also, why not hold schools accountable? Ask for bonds, so they take more responsibility in filtering the international students they're accepting.

Establishments should be checked by the government if they’ve hired many TFW or IS that has visas about to expire. Get a list from them. Then monitor these people. If they’re still here past their validity period & still working with the same company then that company should be penalized. Companies like these are also to be blamed because they protect these people since they benefit from the low wage they’re paying them.
14:01 “You’re here to study, that should be the basic premise” is a naive wishful thinking when everybody knows it’s not the eventual goal. For an official like him to acknowledge the word “BACKDOOR” is itself a sign that he knows circumventing immigration is happening beyond the government’s control. The “dual intent” of the visa is the main culprit. They should change that to strictly “non-adjustable to PR” visa if they want a serious streamlining or even impose “full online study” in the comfort of their homeland. Let’s see how many actually “enroll” to “study”.

True Ms Ina, The advice to us (by consultant) is investment through education for our children (true naman ito) to be in Canada through the International Student Pathway. Study, be trained in Canada and hopefully work and reside in Canada. We all know how expensive the tuition is plus all the expenses for them to be safe and support what they need to finish their course. Even may waiver that at the end of the course is to go back to the country of origin, Hindi ba mas favorable din sa Canada yung i train sila so they can work to add to Canadian workforce? Kung better ba ang situation ng mga migrating people (i:e Workers, Students etc.) sa current condition people will stay. Migration is another way for life betterment. Canada is one destination that people try. 😊
Before making the "investment" ask the consultant how many of these international students end up with PR or you can Google it. Per Statscan less than 30% become PR within 10 years from getting their first study permit. This was before the rule changes. Of course there are courses which give you a better chance at PR. Unless you are enrolling in a much sought after course by employers then I would do something else with your "investment". Lastly keep in mind consultants are paid for every client they bring in to start the process so keep that in mind when assessing the advice you are getting. Lastly if you need a consultant to tell you why you are doing this you probably should stay home.
Favorable to trian to add to workforce? Answer: the Canadian market can only absorb so few. Only the needed once that there is in clear shortage of supply from locals. Kaya before you “invest” plan ahead kung ano ang demand sa Canadian market increasing your chances of MIGHT getting pr after the study.
