TG MotoRider Honda Fury Full Review and Ride. Is it Furious enough?
Just found your channel. Great, fun, good info. If i was as cool as you, I'd be 10lbs lighter & hv my hair lighted. Be careful. Do a vid on ( airbag vests ). Thx
Love the bike but the front looks hideous
Traction control on 7 will really cut the power.
I ride a GW 2000SE and I'm having a hard time justifying an upgrade. These machines grow on you and and their reliability is so satisfying. As for having the pegs forward ... I have forward foot rests and rarely use them except for stretching out.
You must have a look at the new honda vtx1800r. You wanted abs. Know it has. You wanted cruise control it has it.
Just watched your review and its talked me into riding my stryker into work tonight Brought a VTX1800 after watching many bike reviews but yours tipped me to getting one Watched your m109 review and think youve convinced me to getting that next Keep up the great informative channel Love it
Haaa! I’m a bad influence on your bank account! Thank you for watching.
Ended up on the Honda 😂😂😂 My finances would be better if I didn't twist the throttle so much but where's the fun in that
I have an '06 model (the same bike, just missing the fuel gauge) in a user- upgraded trim (added bags and windshield). It's a great bike. I've owned it now for 3 years and I'm planning on taking my first road trip on it next year. So far, it's be absolutely stellar. No maintenance fusses, no electrical gremlins so far (knock on wood). It's been a dream to own. I get lots of looks and questions about it, since it looks very similar to the HD Road King, but sounds nothing like the HD. If one has the chance to check one of these out, definitely try it.
I've had my second-gen 2009 FJR for six years now, having traded off a GL1800 I didn't need any more when my wife got her own bike(s). I've run it about 50,000 miles so far and to put it simply, it never gets old. That motor! Just using it is fun all by itself. Long, long ago I made up a saying that you want to arrive in your riding destination and then have a motorcycle. As in, that Wing got you the first 600 miles but now it's West Virginia time and you want a bike for those mountain roads. Well, the FJR comes closer to filling both roles than just about anything. I can recall the first time I hit the nearby favorite S-shaped on-ramp and just kept widening the throttle. I was amazed at how competent it was and learned it would corner harder and better than I had even imagined. The windscreen it came with, the "Touring" one, wasn't very good, but I ordered out two screens from the now-defunct Rifle Fairings, one short for summer and very tall for winter, and those have been the solution. Too bad you can't get them any more. I'm getting close to aging out out of being able to ride any serious kind of bike but I keep working to hang on to the FJR because it's just so damn good and it makes me want to get on and go somewhere.
I am thinking my next bike might be a Goldwing.. because, to have a tow ball for a trailer.. I did see one made for my Deauville, once, never to find it again of who did it.. looking at the mono wheel trailers... get a welder, then learn to weld... or learn to make mistakes.
Yeah I agree.. I don't know why they don't have the cancelling turn signals on all their bikes (when doing a good thing, why stop), and I have a bike I wish had reverse on, not as heavy as a Goldwing, but still a bitch to push backwards when your feet just hit the ground.. it's also a Honda, the 2003 NT650v Deauville, that some call the Dull Ville, the bike I had before that was a 1988 Honda vt250f.. Honda's are hard to kill. The one thing that I have found though is, that parts become hens teeth on how much older the bikes are, I suppose that is a common thing with any bike that is older than 10-20-30 years... odd thing is.. all 5 speed gear box's on these 2 also. Q: would we need more gears, because it might be if more gears, it might just be the increments between gears would be smaller, to get to the same gear ratio of the 5 geared box.. it would seem like a joke played on us... more steps to reach that same 5th gear ratio.. unless one was a true reverse gear. The big difference people find is.. when riding a bike that doesn't have a chain or belt, has pro's and cons. I live in Australia, both bikes were cheap and nasty, and still are.
Truth on all that. But I will say when you’re cruising on the highway for a long time and you’re doing 75 miles an hour it’s nice to have that six gear to settle the motor and keep the RPMs at a quiet hum. Thanks for watching. I appreciate your comments.
BMW owners do use thier turn signals, they just emit a light poor people can't see....
lol !
The Raider rides much better with Cobra 240 in the back. The Raider is a BEAST!
Have you done a Rocket ?
Picking one up next week. 2007 C50T 5k miles, $2k..
600+ klms/350+ miles in a day was no issue...butt was a bit sore, but you have to expect that with just one stop mid-way!! Love mine (2019) and very happy... :)
1973 I had this bike's ancestor. I went everywhere with that bike!
What helmet do you have it sounds quieter.
Bro why no one modified rebel 300 to single seat, they always put backseat is it not possible, i went to utube & google and i cant find a single one of rebel 300 single seat😢
Great deals used many low mileage
I enjoyed your vlog , I like the Red hey, you approach the bike in a balanced manner ... From Australia
Thank you for watching!
Nice, concise video. No fluff, just facts. The most surprising difference to me is the brakes. I've got a 2010 C-109R, and it has a linked braking system. It's got 3 piston fronts, and a twin piston rear caliper. The front brake lever activates 2 of the 3 front pistons, while the rear pedal does the back brake, plus the 3rd piston on the front. It's 1102lb loaded, with me on it, and it stops quite well considering our combined bulk. It also has intake, pipes, and a tune to disable the electronic nanny aids in 1st-3rd gear, and the secondary throttle valve. It's got a heavier flywheel, and different intake cam than the M to bring the torque even lower, but even with those restrictions (compared to the M) it makes 110hp at 6800rpm, and 120lb-ft at 3300rpm, and an almost table flat torque curve all the way to nearly 7000rpm, and that's at the tyre. That's more than enough to smoke that fat old 240 rear on the roll in 2nd, and you'll be smiling like the Cheshire cat every time you ride it. Try a de-restricted one if you ever get the chance and you want an even bigger smile.
Where did you find it.. i cant find any dealer that has one.
Just came across your channel. Excellent video and it comes right on time, I am looking to upgrade from my Honda VTX 1800. Been looking at the GW. Never paid to much attention to the Valkyrie before until I came across a beautiful 2014 for sale today. Doing my research the only thing I wish it had that the GW will give me is the reverse feature, plus the DTC feature is a nice options as well. I am an Airborne vet and father time has caught up with my knees. Having a reverse is very appealing. Sub!
Thank you for watching and thank you for subscribing. I did love the reverse on my Goldwing. I do find myself on the Valkyrie being more cautious on the angle of the parking lot as I pull in. And then I console myself with the fact that it’s 150 pounds lighter than my 2005 Goldwing. But I still don’t wanna get the parking wrong on a bad angle. The other thing is the seat it’s not as comfortable as my Goldwing, I have an aftermarket cushion. But there’s something about it that I just absolutely love. Thank you again for watching and thank you for your service!
@@tgmotorider.narratinglifeo3480 I must admit the 150 lbs difference is appealing. My VTX is also a heavy ride but I am use to it. If I had the room I would own all 3, the VTX, Valkyrie and GW, that would be the holy trinity :) LOL. Its hard for me the let the VTX go, beast of a bike, dependable, low to the ground and his the power I need and has that growl I love. That bike and I have been through thick and thin together. And being that I live here in Brooklyn great get around bike. I took a look at the 2024 GW the other day and of course the GW is a legend. I could live with a 2018-2021 GW and save some money instead of getting a 2024 with is $24K for the bagger model which is all I need. I sat on it and of course its a bit taller but my feet were still flat on the ground, but it felt a little plasticky to me, ( which others have noted in other reviews). But I can live with that, having the DTC while riding in NYC is a nice touch I think, and you can always switch to manual. I am diff going to get one in time...
I’m with you, they need to upgrade the rims to cast aluminum, and change to tubeless tires before I will buy one. Honda I hope your listening.
I'm really split. I hate the thought of a puncture with tubes tires, but spokes wheels look so freaking good. 😢 I think alloy rims would retract a lot from the looks, but more practical...
How hard was it removing the cylinder head covers to get them black? Do you gotta drop the whole engine or is there enough wiggle room to slide out the sides if you remove the tank?
Is that color still available?
What year did Yamaha fix the heavy front end?
I would’ve been either the 2013 or 2016 generation.
Like the bike but what's with the humongous black windshield? I can understand and loveblack one seems to just blatantly obstruct your view ahead.
I hate it too. It was on there when I test rode it.
Bike looks interesting though. Hoping I see one popping up at a shop nearby so I can try one out. I think it may hit my sweet spot for a cruiser with modern technology.
The music is toooo much loud
I hear ya on the 1800 motor but it sounds like shit compared to the 1300. The 1300 has that harley sound, which is far more important to me!
Nice review
I have the 1600 road star been an amazing bike, 23,000 mies oil, and battery change. All I've done never has let me down
I have a 2013 Voyager, identical to the one in the video, with over 98,000 miles (not a typo) on it - ridden almost every day, hot or cold, rain or shine. Most of it highway, but I do about a mile of rough dirt/gravel road daily. Reliability has been incredible, with ONE minor repair, a wallowed out fan hub due to foam airflow gaskets coming loose. (A new motor-fan assembly is over$500, or get a used one for about $40.) I get around 40 mpg, plus or minus about 4 mpg depending on speed and air temperature. I use Michelin Commander III tires (slightly different size on the rear) and expect over 20,000 miles out of them. Minor beefs: 1) Various trim bolts tend to vibrate loose; 2) The kickstand is an inch or so too short; 3) The gap between upper and lower fairings was designed by a sadist. It funnels rain, even fog, onto your knees. (I have seen a standing puddle of water forming on my knees.). The gap allows good airflow when it's hot ... but not-so-good airflow when it's cold. I plug them with short lengths of pipe insulation as needed; 4) I know this is typical of frame-mounted fairings, but they don't provide as much wind protection as handlebar-mounted ones; 5) Horsepower is low compared to other big bikes, so don't plan on accelerating very fast, especially in 6th gear. There just isn't much negative to say. Two-up riding barely affects the handling and the passenger seat and backrest are very comfy (according to my wife). I've driven this bike in thunderstorms that had car drivers pulling to the roadside with their blinkers on and in 30+ mph crosswinds (recently both at the same time). Not that I recommend either, but the bike can handle almost any weather. The Voyager is not flashy, but it's very comfortable, super-reliable, safe and, for the price ... I got mine new in 2014 for just under $19,000 ... I think you'll pay about the same today, unlike any other item on the planet! Now, compare that to the other guys. I may be getting a new bike soon in celebration of crossing 100,000 miles and will be hard-pressed to justify the cost of another brand ... at least come out with a not-silver color for 2025 Kawasaki.
That is a fantastic summation. Thank you for watching.
I’m wondering how it would handle a long tour. Unlike the the Goldwing, it lacks creature comforts for a long distant trip. What’s the consensus?
It does not have creature comforts and I had to add a seat cushion because the stock seat is terrible. But there’s just something about it. I traded a Goldwing for it.
I had one for a couple of years and loved it but seat was terrible and aftermarket seat not much better. You said it doesn’t have a power band but 3000-12000 is pretty amazing. Around town 3-4k all day but out on the road rev that thing up! It’s designed to run 8k all day and it will do it. It took me a few months to wrap my mind around high revs but once I got used to it I started pushing it and really loved it. Underpowered? Yes it is but so light and fun. I’ve owned over 20 bikes and this thing is not like anything else I’ve had. I have bigger bikes but I’ll probably get another one of these and experiment with seats.
You have a nice easy flowing way of expressing yourself. Thanks for the review.
Thank you for watching
too much talk,.....missing bikesound !!!!
Here ya go. th-cam.com/video/RU9lErUs624/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
No 6 th gear needed. Absolutely not needed.. 75 mph is like 2000 rpm. With a windshield you really don’t want to go much over 80 mph.
The Valkyrie is more muscle then the v max…I have both💕
BOTH💕
Got here from a random google rabbit hole, but really enjoy your delivery. Captures the essence of the bike and an honest opinion.
Thank you for watching!
Since you have ridden both, which one was more comfortable on highway, the C50 or the Vulcan S 650. ?
For comfort the C50. For speed the Vulcan S.
Need to ride also I get that man.
Do you think the 2025 version will have the Y-AMT. Hopefully they put a new navigation on it.
Vstar 1300 will destroy the vtx, every time.
When are you going to test drive the triumph rocket 111, the older model? Maybe even buy one 😅
Hmmm…
Very glad I was not drinking my coffee when you made the CHiPs comment!!
Thank you for watching!
Greatest trouble free, beautiful, best fuel consumption, best road presence, best pickup, best road grip, my experience since a year still ride it every day, I have two best cars but I prefer riding my lovely Suzuki, it looks far bigger than being an 805cc, no problems change engine oil gear oil frequently, warm before starting, when shutting off let it run a while then shut engine off you won’t have any problems no problem with drive shaft, no valve adjustment required, just change engine oils early don’t wait for thousand miles to change engine oil, if you want to run this Suzuki for more than 100 or 150 thousand miles, just secret is changing engine oils pretime and gear oils too, you won’t go to any shop for repairs this is my personal experience for years being a motorbike rider.
CMX1100 will rev to 8k RPM.
As a 6-foot-tall man in my mid 30's....my 2024 Honda Rebel 1100T is indeed a bit of a cramped ride, but coming from sport bikes after 13 years, it is not a deal breaker for me. That 1083cc parallel twin motor is absolutely lovely!! The MPG is decent for the small tank of 3.6 US Gallons, I get roughly 150 miles. As a commuter, the 1100T is great because of the storage and it is a lot smaller than a usual cruiser type motorcycle which allows for easier lane splitting here in California.
