My second VTX made it to 29K and second gear blew out of the transmission.
I've had two VTXs, a 2006 and a 2007 both c models. I currently own a V-Star 1300 and it is absolutely far superior to a VTX in every single way. The VTX is a whopping 56 horsepower at the wheel. V-Star 1300 is 72 stock. With an exhaust intake and a bully tuner, mine is putting down 90 horse at the rear wheel. V-Star has dual disc brakes, better suspension, belt drive, everything is better
@PainterD54 lol Yes it is. It might be 74 horse at the crank but after the drivetrain and the drive shaft it's only 56 at the wheel. Sorry to inform you.

@@PainterD54 lol nope. The V-Star is far superior in every way. I had two VTXs and I put 60,000 mi on one and 30,000 miles on the other one. I know exactly how they ride. @ Good for you. I will always ride my 1300 VTX over the 1300 Yamaha because of the engine design and how it revs so high to get the power. People like to compare their bikes to others (Honda vs Harley, Yamaha vs Suzuki, Kawasaki vs suzuki, etc.) but when it comes right down to it, some just like the bike they ride, no matter what kind of crap others try to sell them. Just bought a vstar 2009 1300 today beautiful bike runs amazing
I had one years ago and you'll love it. Smooth bike that goes forever.
Do yourself a favor. Get a slip-on exhaust, a Cobra power flow intake, and a tuner. You will be amazed at how fast it will make your bike
@@Andrew_D96 I got a cobra exhaust and a intake I forgot the exact brand bought it keeps up with my step dad 1800 super chief thing is wonderful

@ sheesh mines only about 73 I could change the ecu for about and extra 15 I’ve heard
I have the 2015 love this bike. It has fuel mapper, straight pipes and aftermarket air cleaner.
Cant speak to the VTX but the Star 1300 is so smooth, handles well ans is lots of dun. Lasts forever amd easy to maintain.
