Not a big deal at all! Its a very minor thing that just makes him like a tick late on throws sometimes because, for some reason, he pats the ball before releasing it, rather than just straight releasing it. Even in the off chance he can't fix it, the issue will be offset by improving anticipation (as is needed for literally every rookie QB ever) and with his arm strength to zip the ball in to WRs quicker.

I think its definitely fair that 2 years is too early, but my thought was to do multiple revisits. So even if the questions are still present after the first 2 years, it would be more of a check in until the next one. How does that sound? Interesting idea to break up the videos as well! I'm still learning, but my thought was that there are some position groups that people wouldn't really click on and I didn't really want to clog people's feeds with each position group. Might try it next year!

To be fair, when Danny Dimes had that one big year, he was really adept at hitting crossing routes and other short routes that set receivers up well for YAC. Assuming he can continue to throw those types of routes accurately and that Nabers doesn't draw literally every defender in the defense, he can definitely find himself doing very well out of the gate! I do ultimately think MHJ will have the better career, but its hard to say!

@@TheJumboPackage I must have been tired when I wrote that. I corrected 'not' to 'now.' but also what I meant was Nabers should have more spectacular plays. Speedier, breaks tackles etc. Okay so Jones is reluctant to go long but Nabers can turn short passes into long gains. & besides, who really gets off lots of long passes anymore? The Texans are already stacked especially if Diggs hasn't lost a step, I'm not assuming AR5 's arm is okay after surgery. Will Levis would have been Extremely Lucky to get him & could have so how ginormous a missed opportunity is that? & then it would be Lamar? Fields can fling the ball 50+ air yards with a flick of his wrist (the Bears had terrible play-calling & receivers so no one remembers this) but may never get a chance to start in the NFL again. & Herbert after being saddled with Joe Lombardi then Kellen Moore (who everyone but me thinks is great) now has the OC who halved Lamar's TDs & doubled his INTs for three full years. Oy vey. Hey, if Rodgers has anything left & I'm him, I'd stay at the stadium & play a second game to show people what I can do! Yeah, it's hard to tell if Jones has anything left in his arm.

While it may seem I'm ranting & obsessed, what Rattler said about a 6-year-old documentary emphasizes my points about how memes count for more than facts even for NFL coaches & GMs. Mental laziness exists everywhere & when a meme becomes entrenched, people stop thinking. Everything negative about Fields stemmed from the First Meme made of him which was "he can't read defenses." Every time one of his receivers dropped a pass that hit them in the hands, every time he scrambled out of the non-existent pocket was proof of this according to those who repeated the memes. & you know what? It was proven false th-cam.com/video/QuhUbISnr8s/w-d-xo.html *_before_** he EVER* even took a snap in the NFL. This isn't something you can unlearn. So absolutely nothing that happened on the Bears was due to Fields' inability to read defenses. Not the terrible play-calling that was excused on this, not Mooney & Claypool channelling their inner Kaderius Toney & deflecting passes to the other team. None of it was due to any such lack on Fields' part which means he has no lacks. So why won't any teams offer more than a conditional 6th-rounder for him? No reason but they believe the memes.

Quinion killed the process. He dominated the Senior Bowl and even showed he can be a great press corner which was his only supposed weakness. He also killed the combine. Quinion absolutely deserves to be the first corner off the board despite not playing in the SEC.

Saban even said he wanted Quinyon Mitchell to enter the transfer portal. I think Saban would have played him over Arnold.

We’ll have to agree to disagree on this one because I personally loved Quinyon. Obviously I’m not infallible, but I think he’ll be an excellent NFL player. Hey man, glad to see you back and thanks so much for the kind comment- glad you enjoyed! I tend to agree on Rice- I wouldn’t have been comfortable taking him until about the 6th, although I admittedly have only watched 1 game of film on him. For the video though I wanted to be objective so I didn’t really give my own opinion on him! I’ve actually been thinking a bit about our past discussion because I remembered what you were saying about Josh Allen’s inaccuracy being largely over exaggerated. I actually wanted to mention that I think the same thing is happening with Maye. Is he the most accurate guy? Nope! But I don’t think he’s nearly as inaccurate as the media portrays so I wanted to bring that up. Addressing your specific questions though, I 100% agree on the landing spots. McCarthy went to the perfect situation. I’d hardly call anyone bust proof, but I will say that it’ll be extremely difficult for him to be bad with the offensive weapons around him and that coaching staff. Maye is definitely being thrown to the wolves. I like Polk and Baker a lot, but these rookies are competing to be their #1 WR instead of developmental pieces. I think they’ll really have to do something after year 1 to help him out, but by then it might already be too late. Hopefully not. I loved Bo to the broncos. I personally think he has a bit more upside than people are giving him credit for. He actually plays pretty well out of structure and throwing on the move and I think he could do a lot of good things with that offense. I think he could find himself in a very Kirk cousins-esque stature, placing himself around the 7th-12th best QB in the league in any given year and just being a consistently really good player. Penix has been super interesting to me because I actually don’t hate the logic. In theory, it might be more smart to draft a QB, the most valuable position, high up when you have the rare chance to have a top 10 pick in a really good QB class. Then they took 3 other shots at fixing their DL need that they would’ve otherwise addressed. I don’t think the strategy is awful in isolation. It’s definitely questionable when considering they just shelled out lots of money for an old QB, so presumably they’d want their team to be as good as possible right now to make that investment worth it. For me, my main qualm is the evaluation of the player, as I just didn’t see Penix as a 1st round guy, nonetheless a top 10 pick. I’m very open to being incorrect though and I hope he proves me wrong! I actually haven’t gotten around to watching Pratt quite yet, but I’ve heard good things and I’ll be checking him out soon! I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Rattler though! Thanks so much! I actually intend to do “the biggest reaches” of the draft next, which is something I’m super excited for. I’ll be doing the biggest reaches and fallers every year, just as I did last year! I would love to do grades, but it would just be so incomplete because there are so many players I have yet to watch since I work a lot at my real job so I’m behind on evaluations. I’d love to give my thoughts on some of the picks, but most of my answers would be “I’ve never seen this guy” and I don’t want to do that or lie and pretend I’ve seen him and just use media evaluations, so it unfortunately makes it hard for me to put out grades. Maybe in the future though!

@@TheJumboPackage You mentioned you'd be glad to be wrong on Penix, that's how I feel about Maye. I wish him the best, but we have to agree to disagree on his accuracy. As mentioned, I watched all his film the year (it's the one position I can easily evaluate as a fan without all 22 since the camera is always focused on the qb anyway), so I'm not relying on others opinions. I saw him be wildly off target on easy throws in all directions with regularity. Where as my point with Josh Allen is he usually was on target, but just trying to fit ball into tight windows. Josh wasn't really that inaccurate at all, he was overconfident and a bit of a poor decision maker, which still plagues him in the NFL. If Drake's issues carry over to the NFL, I'm not sure he'll be able to overcome them cause as you know the pocket presence is bad and he also has a slow release (bad combo when playing behind a bad oline with receivers who might not separate quickly). I genuinely thought Maye could use a couple years on the bench working on things (many people forget this, but Aaron Rodgers had bad mechanical issues coming out of the draft, but he completely fixed them and then some while sitting on the bench behind Favre) and he got a terrible situation where he has to start right away and won't have any time to focus on the little things and will be running for his life constantly. I'm in lock step with you on Bo though. I feel like a skill that people are beginning to kind of underrate rate again is pre snap reads. This is what really made players like Manning, Brady and Brees elite (Rodgers is great at it too). People seem a bit too focused on the fact Bo often relied on his first reads, but in an ideal world, that's what you want. Read the defense and make the right decision before you even snap the ball. There's level's to this, he may be better a making the first read than another first read reliant QB like Fields. The fact he paired up with the perfect coach to enhance that skill and can scramble and throw well on the move as you alluded too should give him even better results than players like Brady, Brees and Manning had out of the gate. Of course, becoming good as them is unlikely, it takes crazy work ethic, but he does have the talent and showed constant improvement in college. That's why I said he has some star potential, but yeah, your projection is his more likely upside. Penix is the one QB I didn't watch film on of the 6 drafted in the first. So don't have a huge opinion on him, I just didn't like the process. While I see what you're saying in that you see the idea behind it, the backlash is part of the process they should have realized. The shock value of the pick puts a lot of pressure on Penix. It kind of creates that QB controversy vibe that teams dont want cause it brings unwanted attention that can be distracting. Where as you could just draft a QB later and develop him without all the hooplaw. It's not like there isn't a track record of late rounds QBs never working (Purdy, Brady, Dak, Romo, Warner, Cousins, Russ, and these are just the big names) or like 1st round qbs always hit. They could have taken a late one next year too, and the year after that. Speaking of which, Pratt is just the most Purdy like QB to come out since Purdy. He is 6'2", has a good, but not great arm, is accurate and plays well within structure, has played a lot of college ball and lifted a program by himself. He also is a pretty good scrambler. To me, he isn't that much worse of a prospect and Bo, which isn't an insult to Bo. I just don't get why the NFL continues to overlook these type of guys. Time and time again it's proven you don't have to have elite measurables to thrive in the NFL as a QB if you have it between the ears and have good enough measurables,, which Pratt does. Ah makes sense, I kind of still judge drafts using all the analysis I get following content creators...but if you are one you kind of need your own opinion on most players, which would be pretty time consuming without cheating. @@jeffx40 Although I didn’t doubt it based on our past conversations, I’m very happy to see you’re not actively rooting for Maye to fail just because you didn’t like his tape lol. It bothers me when people do that kind of stuff, but I appreciate your perspective on him, even if we ultimately disagree on his accuracy. That’s a really interesting point about. I completely agree that you ideally want your first read to be correct and, if so, its great if a QB throws that accurately and can make plays that way. I think the part that gets difficult when watching tape is whether a pre-snap read was made or whether he’s just looking at the pre-assigned primary. Its impossible to tell whether he read out the defense and looked to someone who he felt would be open pre-snap, or if he was simply following the progression laid out by the play itself and threw to that first read without really reading anything. One of those scenarios comes with huge credit to his ability to read a defense and another does not, so its hard to give someone that much credit without knowing for sure. That’s why its so difficult with QB scouting because it requires a lot of mental work and it just can’t be known what a guy was thinking or seeing without talking to them or being in their head. Still, I agree on the point that - if the guy is open, why would he throw the ball elsewhere! The pick itself definitely puts Penix at a disadvantage, but my guess would be that the organization has faith in Penix’s mentals that they don’t believe it’s a problem. Penix has overcome a lot of adversity, so I could see why they’d believe that, even if I don’t personally know him. Definitely doesn’t help that Cousins was reportedly very unhappy, already hurting their relationship from the start. Its still rather unfortunate for Penix that, as an older player who was seen as a day 1 starter, he was picked to a team that likely won’t start him for the absolute minimum of 1 year barring an injury. But I really hope it does work out for him. And thanks so much! I’m glad you’re looking forward to the next video. Its really awesome to hear that people are excited by the content. @@TheJumboPackage Yeah...that's a good point on who you assign Bo's 1st read success to more, Bo or Oregon. The thing is, with his landing spot it probably doesn't matter! Like Oregon, Payton likes a smart QB who will run his offense flawlessly. What we do know is Bo knew the Ducks offense inside and out and executed it perfectly, this in itself is a skill. For instance, a lot of people criticize Brock Purdy because they think anyone with more physical talent than him could do just as much if not more than him in that 49er offense. That's just false though, Shannahan has one of the most complex offences ever and not all QBs could absorb and execute it well, much less read defences and throw with anticipation as well as he does. It doesn't matter how physically gifted you are if you can't remember and execute all the plays Shannahan wants you to run. Bo to Denver really is one of the best fits ever. Even if Bo isn't making the reads himself yet, it's 100% a skill you can improve over time, as long as he absorbs all the info Payton gives him and executes it he'll be around long enough to get great at the pre snap reads. And based on what I've read about him, that's the skill of his I'm the most confident in. Glad to hear that :). I do feel for you small creators, I know how much work this takes. You're definitely better than a lot of the creators with more subs and views...but the world isn't always just. Hopefully you enjoy the process though so you are getting enjoyment out of it even if you're yet to make much money.

I don't mind being a smaller creator, as it gives me the leeway needed to work on the longer videos without high expectations and also gives me more time to interact with everyone! But I couldn't imagine trying to churn this videos out every week alongside my full-time job too. I'm just glad that people like yourself enjoy my videos, it means a lot!

Although its certainly an interesting question, it is one I cannot answer because I was only 2 years old when Tom Brady was drafted lol. Also, I intend to put out a video on my second channel at some point showing the different ratings I have, as I'm still tinkering with them a bit! At the time this video was made, I had Nix as a "Day 1 - Quality Backup; Upside - Quality Starter Within 2 Years." That was a 5.00 value, making him a late 2nd round pick. Since making the video, I've gotten to like Nix a bit more and his current rating is "Day 1- Average Starter; Upside - Quality Starter Within 2 Years." This increases Nix's value to an Early 2nd, although I've been recently considering mixing up the values so that this would actually be equal to a late 1st but I haven't done so yet.

I think he’ll be a beast at guard! 2023 was actually his first year playing Center, so he was new to that position anyways. If anything, he’s more accustomed to being a guard!

Personally don’t think it’s weak! I don’t think he has an A+ arm or anything, but I have it in my sheet as being B+ to A-, which is obviously above average. Some of the cross body throws he made were awesome!

@@TheJumboPackage Arm strength is really not a big deal for any of these guys....They can all sling it....There are so many other attributes way more important.....Mostly casuals who don't know anything about playing Qb....None of you pussies ever lined up behind center so what do you even know??

Agreed on the slow start off the line point! I think he did an excellent job varying his tempos off the LoS to always keep CBs guessing. I actually forgot to mention the blocking point in this video, but I really agree. He was pretty awful at blocking on screens and wasn't always a willing run blocker. Saw some flashes of him picking up blocks, but generally was dissapointed with the effort and effectiveness as a blocker. Love him as a receiver tho if he can become more consistent!

I think he's better than people give him credit for. His playmaking ability was not something I expected to see, but I was impressed with his ability to throw on the move!

I'd push back on that point because he had such a high rate of throws behind the LoS and under 10+ yards, which are naturally easier throws to hit, thus raising his completion percentage. So I'd disagree he's elite in that area. I do find myself being higher on Nix in general than a lot of people though!

I wouldn't call him elite in that area, but the potential is there!

1 - I'd like to point out that I appreciate you taking the time to actually write out why you disagree with me instead of just calling me an idiot lol. I always ask people at the end of these videos to write their opinions in the comment and some people just say "he'll be a bust" with no explanation for why, so I appreciate you taking the time to start a substantive discussion! 2 - I tend to agree with much of what you said, but I put much more emphasis on his pass blocking and I think that his weaknesses in run blocking can (a) be hidden, and (b) be improved with NFL coaching and increased strength as he gets older (he's one of the youngest players in the draft). Totally agree that he doesn't control blocks and redirect rushers, but as a pass blocker he does a great job staying square to defenders and he generally doesn't let players run through him unless he makes some kind of technique-related mistake, which I think is a combination that makes him a high-floor pass blocker. I'm a Jets fan and I personally love the pick, but of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Thanks for commenting!
