@@Void11207 thanks, I appreciate it! And I will! Have to go through Caleb’s games again Notre Dame and Utah first, which I’m kind of scared for haha. But even if they don’t get their own individual videos, I’ll likely post a top 10 for each position so I’ll review most of the relevant names in the draft this year!
Chargers fan here. Previous to this video I had never seen any film on Drake Maye, but watching the plays he reminded me so much of Justin Herbert in every single way. From the first play on this video to the last. Awesome breakdown, keep up the great work!
@@coreygross9794there's a small chance dude. If Kirk comes back on the cheap, and acts as the mentor/bridge to Maye, as well as Chicago and Washington taking Williams and Daniels respectively, and NE takes MHJ at #3 would be an absolute best case scenario for Minnesota. It would take an absolute haul to get up to #4 though, and probably cost a player in the package. Trade Hunter, (3) 1sts?
After these past four years of quarterback classes here’s my answer: who fucking knows. I swear to god there’s no way of determining what QB will be successful in what system nowadays. I’m not gonna indict myself by saying what quarterbacks I thought would be successful, but I promise it’s been a crapshoot.
I don’t disagree. I’m a very strong personal believer that a lot of what makes a great QB is their mindset and their ability & willingness to learn. We’ve seen plenty of QBs with very similar tools have very different outcomes. Of course, situation is a key variable too, but that still goes to my overall point that a lot of what makes a great QB is something I think is almost impossible to predict. However, I still think it’s fun to throw predictions out there and discuss players’ strengths and weaknesses!
😂 you said it, brother. After the past decades of constant busts, low draft picks who "overperform" its hard to place too much stock in QB scouting reports - because there are so many intangibles that cant be measured in any meaningful way!
@@vitigaymer1053 100%!! But that’s what makes the draft so fun in a way- if we were 100% certain about everyone, it would be really boring. The different opinions and different outcomes are what makes it so fascinating!
It also depends on the quality of offensive coaching staff. If you have a good offensive coaching staff, odds are your QB will develop. If you don’t, almost no QB can
Good video. Nice how you showed a non-biased analysis of his strengths and weaknesses. Gotta love his strengths. Very gifted thrower of the football. His weaknesses can bit a bit frustrating, but can be coached up. Overall, I love his game. Wouldn’t mind him being a Commander with the #2 pick.
Hi. I had to comment to say what an amazing video you put together. Very insightful. I've watched highlight videos and came away wanting Maye because of his pros: height, arm, accuracy, etc. but you really go in-depth with video proof displaying his many weaknesses. I'm a BEARS fan so I'm super worried about fucking this thing up. I still can't tell if we should even trade Fields, but I'm leaning that way. I'm rambling now but thank you for your hard work man. Outstanding analysis!
Thank you for commenting, I really appreciate it! Highlight videos are always tough because they only show the best of someone- but every prospect will have weaknesses! Maye is still a very high level QB prospect, so I think the Bears would be happy with him (although I personally have Caleb higher than Maye in my rankings). Thank you for the compliments, it means a lot!
Really liked this video. I'd love to see an analysis of Jayden Daniels and Xavier Legette. Jayden Daniels seems like the biggest riser at QB and Legette seems like the quintessential athlete that's gonna blow up the combine but doesn't have a ton of production on the field (outside of this season) to back it up.
Thank you, I really appreciate that! Just got my hands on some Jayden Daniels All-22, so I'll start reviewing it soon! Excited to watch Legette as well!
Earned my sub! The film breakdowns and the in depth stats make the difference from other channels. Love the video, I’m hoping to snag Maye in my dynasty league draft 🤞🏼
Great videos on Williams and May! Since there is significant discussion in Chicago about choosing a QB with their #1 pick I would love to see or hear your thoughts or comparison of Justin Fields to Williams and May. Would you keep Fields or draft one of the those two?
Thank you, I really appreciate that! I actually addressed this question in the pinned comment on the Caleb Williams video (I just posted the comment yesterday). I think the same logic that I discussed in that comment applies to taking Maye as well as Caleb so I think my answer would stay the same regardless of the QB. Thanks for watching!
I look forward to more of your reviews. I agree about his footwork, it's horrible. He must have about a 75% probability to throw to the right side of the field.@@TheJumboPackage
Great video, very fair and realistic assessment. Earned a follow from me. I see Drake Maye in the realm of Josh Allen. Once he figures it out, he can excel in the league. I think 2 years development as a starter will be enough for him.
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I think that’s a very good comparison and I had a very similar thought. He’s one of those guys where his NFL success will depend very much on his ability to speed up his processor and improve the consistency of his mechanics. He has all the physical tools and there isn’t anything really holding him back or capping his ceiling, which makes it super exciting for whichever team gets him!
@@TheJumboPackage I agree, I’d enjoy seeing him receive the Pat Mahomes treatment and sit for a year. Perhaps behind Danny Dimes in NY. Puts pressure on Dimes and lets Maye learn how to be a pro. I’d enjoy seeing a similar type vid from you on Nabers. Very excited about his potential. I see him as a blend of DJ Moore and Jamar Chase.
@@donjamel5228 I think that's a great idea and I'd love the fit. Him and Brian Daboll paired together would be awesome, especially considering our Josh Allen comparison here haha. Also works out well with the timing with Danny Dimes because IIRC he's uncuttable next year because of the cap consequences (I could be wrong though). I'll definitely have to check out Nabers! I havent gotten a chance to watch him quite yet, but Im going to start focusing on the 2024 Draft now rather than any NFL content most likely so I'm sure I'll have a video out on him at some point and I'd love to get your thoughts on it! I've been waiting to watch Nabers because I don't have access to much film on LSU so I was going to watch him and Jayden Daniels together, who is another person I'm excited to watch!
Just finished both of your videos on Caleb and Drake, amazing work. I've been looking for a detailed break down of both and you did great. I'm a bears fan and still prefer Caleb. Drake has great talent but I believe Caleb is a tad quicker and has a higher upside. it's close between the two but Caleb just has the edge. Draft night should be very stressful if the Bears take a QB one for the first time in a forever!!!! Apperciate your work man.
@@ScottMicale I don’t think that’s wise when there are plenty of WR in this draft that they can get in the first round: Malik from LSU and Rome from Washington Second Round: Keon Coleman and a few others The bears need a QB man idk how you can justify wasting another year on JF1
@@jaredbrown5419 MHJR is a generational talent! You add him to the Bears and this offense changes drastically as long as Gates is not the OC. Continue to build around JF. You put Caleb behind this line we are back at square one! Nothing will change. Justin has two targets on this team. D.J. and Kemet. He needs more. Our Defense is finally good again. We start over at QB you are wasting this defense as these guys will be gone in 2-3 yrs or not as good as they are now. We'll just be in the same cycle as we have been in for decades. Rinse, repeat! Plus if the rumors are true about Mike Tomlin he will want to keep Fields and continue making this ship right! I'm tired of building the wrong way. We need to build the trenches up! Use the second pick to do that.
@@ScottMicale no this is irrational and your getting ahead of yourself. The last WR drafted number 1 was Keyshawn Johnson. That would be the Bears thing to do when there are other receivers that are pretty damn good. Malik Nabers also had better numbers than Marvin so you do what you want with that. This team is also set up perfectly to get their franchise QB (Ryan Poles didn’t pick JF1) nor should he risk loosing his job on the “what if” in year 3-4. That’s how GM’s and coaches loose their jobs. Betting on mid level, average QB play and think it’s sustainable…it’s simply not. The other thing is, the bears have NEVER had a franchise QB and all of a sudden you truly believe that JF1 is this superstar, let’s build around QB?? Absolutely not. The tape tells you the truth and if you don’t watch it, fine, do as you please. The truth is in front of you and it would be the BEARSFOOTBALL to draft a WR number 1 and think that fixes the problem when clearly they need the following, QB, WR, C, and RB. This defense has been great the last few weeks (still allowed Flacco to throw for 212 in the fourth) yet still great. This team is perfectly set up to do exactly what the Texans did…get two pieces and build around that.
Caleb will be fine, he’ll adjust. Drake Maye could be fine, he’ll adjust. This isn’t that hard to see if you just watch the film man come on….build the team once you have your QB. We don’t have that. We just have a “what if” QB. Flashes good then has really bad. It’s a roller coaster that is not sustainable. Plus, JF1 processors is still slow. Was slow at Ohio State and is slow 3 years into his NFL Career. His anticipation is no where to be found and rarely shows up. I get you want to believe and have faith but the truth is literally in front of you man. Don’t be delusional….just watch this stuff
Hi Vikings fan here. Your breakdown of Drake Maye made me more of a fan of him but my reservation of him still remains his mechanics don't bother me because thats something that could easily be fixed but what does bother me is his pocket presence and movement I can see how that could cost him some plays in a league were every down is crucial, I know because of his size every compares him to Herbert but to me Kirk Cousins is a more accurate comparison I feel he's a better comparison to Drake Maye.
I could definitely see the concerns with pocket presence - I feel like it's not very often where you see a player struggle with pocket presence in college and then make a drastic improvement in the NFL. I wouldn't say it's a huge weakness for him, there are definitely much worse players in terms of pocket presence, but I wouldn't call it a strength. The Cousins comp as a passer I could get behind, but Maye is certainly much more athletic!
I’m a patriots fan and wanted maye for awhile now but with all the new found hype for JJ and reports of Eliot wolf pushing for him I watched your JJ video and this one and here is my takeaway: Everything people say maye struggled with JJ for the most part does too and a lot of the strengths JJ has maye also has. Specifically with accuracy they both have similar struggles but JJ struggles with accuracy with good footwork whereas maye is just about as accurate with shitty footwork and that drift thing which are things that can be fixed relatively easily compared to pure arm accuracy. They both anticipate pretty well with maye probably having better ball placement. They also both progress through their reads a bit slower than you’d probably like. Id say from tape JJ has a better feel for the pocket but I think that’s partially due to JJ having one of the best o-lines in college football and maye having a terrible o-line. There’s also this narrative that JJ is this super great leader which I’m sure is true but I think maye seems like a very good leader who is very competitive as well. JJ has also never lost which a lot of people look at as a positive but on the flip side we don’t really know how he handles adversity and he will in all likelihood be facing some if he gets drafted by the patriots. I’m sure JJ would handle that fine but maye has handled that well already. All in all I think McCarthy is probably the more nfl ready Qb currently with his footwork, ability to read defenses and run a pro style offense but those are things that can be coached. You can’t coach Mayes arm strength, size, athleticism or improv skills. He will also most likely be sitting behind brissett for most or all of his first season giving him time to polish his fundamentals. I’m sure JJ will be a solid nfl quarterback but maye has the potential to be a top 5 Qb in the league and for that reason I want maye at 3 and will be rather annoyed if we do anything else with that pick.
Thats an awesome summary! JJ is definitely a more ready NFL QB at this time, BUT Maye has more upside. They both have similar strengths and weaknesses, except Maye's ceiling is higher and floor is lower, making Maye more of a boom or bust prospect, but giving him the elite top 5 QB potential that teams seek with a top 5 pick. I think the Maye pick could look very good or very bad in the next couple years, but I'd agree that the upside is worth taking a swing on in the top 3, especially when you have a veteran starter to teach him and give him time on the bench. Thanks for commenting!
Maye is gonna become a franchise quarterback with the right team I hope and pray that Ryan Poles sees what I see in the quarterbacks coming out this year and doesn’t miss our chance to finally get our true quarterback
Maye is conservative so I think that would serve him well in a defensive org like the Bears. The Bears will reliably put a strong defense together. Can Maye just be Cutler without the dumb picks? That's where his conservative tendency becomes a plus. He's got great tools and size though, and can make some elite throws here and there, and can move a bit and extend plays.
@@guyincognito320 I wouldn't necessarily say Maye is conservative because he does attempt some throws that are not very smart at times or others that are just insanely difficult when it doesn't need to be done. That being said, I don't think he's reckless either and I think that comparison is very interesting! Definitely has all the tools!
As a Jets fan I really hope not haha. But as an objective football fan, I’d be interested to see that play out, especially if Belicheck is still the head coach… would be interesting seeing his playmaking ability in such a traditional, ball control offense!
@TheJumboPackage I completely understand that. I don't want to see him in a Giants uniform, but I think that once Caleb Williams goes, there's a bunch of teams that will try to move up for him.
I dont necessarily think so. Helmet scouting is not really the way to go imo. Different players with different skillsets playing with different talent around them. There is something to say for guys getting coached up by the same coaching staff, but everyone is their own individual!
Well Trubisky only played a few games and went early Howell in his 2nd year only started a bad team but he started he couldn't save Washington no one can so Howell will be around the Patriots should go after Maye somehow with $$$. He could be another Brady
Lol he does pat the ball alot, you can see it clear in practice. Not a big deal, i think the coaches can clean that up. Drake got all the traits to be an all-pro, so glad we got him.
Not a big deal at all! Its a very minor thing that just makes him like a tick late on throws sometimes because, for some reason, he pats the ball before releasing it, rather than just straight releasing it. Even in the off chance he can't fix it, the issue will be offset by improving anticipation (as is needed for literally every rookie QB ever) and with his arm strength to zip the ball in to WRs quicker.
So to answer your end of video question a few things one I feel like I know the prospect alot better and as a vikings fan I know we are looking heavily into a kirk cousins replacement but some things you pointed out that make me fearful of drafting drake is if the footwork can be coached our of him and his ability to layer throws along with decision making ability needs alot of refinement as you Stated the learning curve is so much steeper & unforgiving as far as windows 🪟 closing and pockets collapsing so with all that being said I don't think my vikings will even be in draft position to draft him because he's being toted as a top 2 qb in the draft but drafts are unpredictable as history has shown so who I'd like to see you do a cut up of is the top 7 and schemes they'd fit in because scheme plays a huge roll in a players success and development so bo nix , Michael penix Jr , Caleb Williams , shadur sanders and who ever you think is good or will translate oh and team fits would be nice or likely to draft by team based off of history and style of qb.
Thanks for your thoughts and for watching, I really appreciate it! Definitely will be doing similar videos on other prospects and I’m glad that you feel like this video helped you to get to know Maye better as a prospect, whether you ultimately agreed with my analysis of the plays or not. Definitely don’t think Vikes will be in a spot to take him, but they’ll likely be in a spot to take some of the other QBs, so I’ll have analysis on them out soon!
He's the pick I'd want for my team if we needed a QB. I feel like Chicago should pull the trigger here with pick number 1. They also get to pick again at number 9. I feel like most people are going with Caleb. So maybe Chicago goes that way. Which would give Drake to Washington. Which I don't hate. The best thing about it, NE misses out on these two guys because they pick 3 lol. So I'm fairly pleased with all this. Not to mention my team is Houston so my world is all butterflies and marshmellows right now. Seriously, Chicago should grab this guy 100 percent.
Haha, as a Jets fan I agree that I'm quite happy that the Pats will miss out on one of the top two (unless there is a tradeup). Objectively, as an NFL fan, I do like Jerod Mayo so I'd like to see him get a good QB. But, for you, Maye is the least of your concerns - Stroud looks amazing!!! Texans are such an exciting young team
I personally would take Drake number one overall if I was Ryan Poles. I’d be keeping everyone guessing so that maybe the patriots would make a trade to jump up one spot just to grab Caleb when I was all in on Drake to begin with. If they took Drake on ya you get everyone else’s number one pick Caleb. But frankly I believe Drake will be the better NFL QB.
Interesting! Not a bad move at all imo. It would be really crazy if they could get the draft capital for #1 to trade back to #2, and then use that extra draft capital to move up to #3 and grab both Drake Maye and MHJ!
drake maye is the 3rd coming of Mitch Trubisky/Sam Howell Perfect body type,HUGE arm, mobile never won a MEANINGFULL GAME IN HIS LIFE but people still think he is a GUY you can WIN with HE played in the WEAK ACC AND HE STILL DIDN'T DOMINANT!!! Great video, will you be doing these draft profiles for other top qbs? You can’t look at the highlight version of these players. Look at their down by down all 22. For me, Drake Maye's upside is Justin Herbert's good and bad. But when I put his tape side by side with Daniel Jones all 22 from college it looks like twins. I mean I still think Daniel Jones can be good in the NFL but not great. Kinda what I see with Drake Maye In the most critical part of the season two years in a row they go 2-8 and in critical got to have moments when he is absent. And this is verse some really average competition they are playing. I think that matters how you play in got to have its moments. He is only 20 so I get it he is young. I think your suggestion of Daniel Jones as a low-end comp for Maye is interesting and I could see what you mean! What can separate Maye is hopefully being able to progress as a reader of the field. Very interesting point about the clutch factor, which may also make him even closer to Herbert as a player lol I have yet to watch Jayden Daniels and Penix because there is barely any all-22 film I can get my hands on, but I’m excited to watch! @@TheJumboPackage Here is what i would offer. To prevent myself from falling into confirmation bias. I give myself rules with looking at players of any position and any sport. These rules are meant to prevent myself from buying into media hype and the group think..... this what i consider for QB's Look at what is internal to that QB. IE ONLY grade what walks into your NFL locker room ONLY!!!!!! 1 Don't use stats as a basis, (ONLY food for thought that further supports what you see on film) 2 Don't use system they played in as a plus or negative. 3 Don't use the team they played for and talent or lack of talent around them as a factor in evaluation. 4 Limit Win Losses records as a basis of evaluation with the exception to concerning patterns of lack of play making in key situations AND OR the positive trend of continued play making in key situations in key games in key moments.... there is a difference between win loss records and identity in pressure moments. 5 identify common traits ON FILM that match the successful traits of QB's in the top 5 of MVP odds multiple years...... the raw version of that is two symbiotic skill sets >>> A) command in the pocket with sack avoidance B) anticipation throws with ball placement I list it this way because each of these A and B have definable moving parts that can be accurately evaluated. Command in the pocket >> ability to feel the rush and not look at the rush (eyes stay on eligible receivers regardless of bodies around you and pending hits).. sliding and stepping up in the pocket with the three C's.. Calm / Control / Confidence.... the anticipation and accuracy can't NOT be achieved without this!!!!!!
@@TheJumboPackage Through this spectrum of this perspective... after looking at these players in detail. Getting access to college football all 22 is a exercise in having a good cup of coffee, a lot of time and at times making a phone call to "friends"....unlike the NFL where you can just pay. It is brutal and often i can only find 4 to 5 games max when i look at this players I will say. I was left thinking 1 Jayden Daniels Tier 1 2 Micheal Penix jr Tier 2 3 Drake Maye Tier 2 4 Caleb Williams Tier 2 5 Bo Nix Tier 2 This is what film in conjunction with rules i listened bring me too.
@@shankdiddy9045 Some really great rules in here! I generally do much of the same! I only really consider scheme to the point where it becomes ambiguous whether a player can do something specific. On that point, I don't really note it as a strength or a weakness, rather an "unknown." For an example, that it was my Hendon Hooker video was about because his scheme made it really difficult to tell if he could do a lot of things he'd need to do in the NFL.
Thats my quarterback,, Maye, Howell, and Ben Johnson is a match made in heaven.. mechanics is muscle memory. He shouldn’t start his 1st year in the nfl, get his footwork right, learn a new system with no pressure.I don’t mimd qb’s turn down honey hole shots to be safe.. in the 1st and 2nd quarter that is.. come fourth quarter though,, he needs to make the big boy throws.
Very true! Ultimately, a lot of these scouting things are just to get a good sense of who the player is coming into the league and what they excel at and what they need to work on. But, to your point, those things can change in the blink of an eye. Stroud was rough under pressure in College (except against Georgia) and all of a sudden has played great under pressure. A lot of their success is really chalked up to the situation they're placed in (coaches and team) as well as their own desire/ability to learn. I don't know anything about Maye as a person, so it's impossible to tell.
great great video. love drake. but as a bears fan i see many of the same issues as with justin fields. - not throwing it. - leaving the pocket maye does have fast feet and a super quick release so hopefully he pans out.
Thank you so much, I appreciate it! And that's an interesting comparison I hadn't really thought of! I think Maye reads the field much better than Justin Fields (pretty ironic considering the name), but he shares a few of the same negative traits as Fields to some extent!
@@TheJumboPackage i really worry on QB's that bail from the pocket. justin is in a class by himself at how bad of a passer he is in structure. and i agree that maye sees the field and goes through progressions. you just dont want it to become a habit. i remember Baker did that a lot early in his career when his oline was bad but he doesnt do that too much now. as a bears fan i really hope we get to take Caleb. but i'd settle for maye. Caleb/harrison is idea. Maye/nabers is a pretty amazing consolation prize
@@shake6321 Oh man, if I were a Bears fan I'd be super excited about a potential Caleb / Marvin Harrison pairing. Honestly, I think whatever QB is picked, Marvin Harrison will make them better because the guy is just that good. Definitely worry a bit about guys that bail from the pocket too early, but it's a habit that can be coached out of guys whereas a lot of players, at least from what I've seen, struggle to learn how to read the field quickly if they didn't already show the ability to do so at the college level. Definitely lots of talent in this draft and lots of potential pairings for the Bears to be excited about!
yes. it’s super exciting to have those two. but i’d settle for maye and nabers as well. they will both be special players as well. if we don’t get MHJ at 3 i’d trade down to 8-14 and try to get nabers.
@@shake6321 I think that’s a great plan. Either way, I think the bears are setup for success if they can figure out everything around whichever two players they draft!
Biggest issue I see is that long windup throwing motion like he's throwing a baseball. Not as pronounced as Tebow but it still looks bad. Not sure how that will work in the NFL.
I know the Chicago Bears are gonna fuck up another option to take a great pocket passer in Maye they are sold on Fields but as the years go by they are going to wished they drafted Drake Maye. I watched tape on Caleb Williams, and Drake me and great quarterbacks deliver the ball quickly and with accuracy and that’s what Maye brings. Williams is a smaller version of Fields. You can ask any hall of fame quarterback and they will tell you this is a passing league running will not get you to a super bowl so don’t make the mistake Ryan Poles get Maye and it will save your job
Now.. if the Bears do decide to move off Justin Fields...(I hope not) this is the guy that checks the boxes for me.. might be time to bring the The Drakester to chicago!
His bad machinics and sloppy foot work ( throwing off back foot) are reminiscent of Jay Cutler but so is his arm strength and athleticism. Maybe the Bears will have better luck coaching him up than they did Cutler if they draft him. I like his size better than Williams for the NFL
Interesting! Especially given the fact that he's an option for the Bears haha. He definitely wins the size battle between him and Williams, so I agree on that point
@TheJumboPackage I think he will become immobile in the NFL and become a pocket passer and a decent QB. Not horrible. Not a Franchise QB. The defensive players in the NFL are just too athletic. He won't be able to scramble as much
good video, Imo Maye is a tier alone. Putting him behind a bridge QB for a year or two. Hes gonna rule. Trial by fire I think ends poorly most all the time. Williams used to be in the tier but has fallen on my board. The remaining 1st round QBs. The 2nd tier? (Williams, Nix, McCarthy, Penix) I only see one 1st rounder but wont be surprised if tiers 1 & 2 go in the 1st round. Funny, there is this big push on J. Daniels.. I cant argue the kids achievements this year.. but...some how a no one at the beginning of the year is now a top 10 pick? IDK, im thinking its the over hype stuff. Like how they pushed Zach Wilson. However, I am not saying Daniels wont/cant be the next Brady. Just saying.. the guy had a great year with great talent around him. We will see.
Interesting take about Maye! I haven’t watched all the QBs yet so I’m not quite sure if he’ll be by himself or even what tier he’s in quite yet. I haven’t watched Jayden Daniels, but I’d counterpoint w/Joe Burrow who was also someone who was considered to have come from nowhere as being not particularly good and then being the #1 overall pick in a really great offense. Of course, Zach Wilson is on that list too, so we’ll see which one Daniels is more like!
@@TheJumboPackage Jayden Daniels will be the best QB out of the bunch, IMO. However I would give him at a minimum half season to sit behind a bridge QB. But also have a veteran QB on the team to help him while on sidelines, not just watching the QB, but understanding how the defense is scheming against his offense. With the hybrid and crossover type defensive players, it has become increasingly important to make your reads based on more than identifying the mike. IMHO, Caleb is not a top 3 QB and nothing he does feels like he can learn to play within an NFL offensive scheme and game plan. He's really really short and will need a really really good OL to give him throwing lanes and daylight.
Regarding Daniels: it's very common for someone who wasn't on anyone's radars at the beginning of the season to establish themselves and move into the top 5-10 (see Joe Burrow or Anthony Richardson). Outside of his incredible season, the best trait Daniels has is his work ethic, which combined with his talent and growth is why I think he'll ultimately be a success. But we'll see!
@@glamourassassins as you’ll see from some of my other comments, I think that work ethic and mentality is one of the largest factors in determining whether a draft prospect pans out, so I appreciate that take! I’m looking forward to watching Daniels!

Florida state went undefeated and couldn't to the championship FINAL 4 that's why they're trying to get out to ACC because nobody respects the teams there they know it's a weak conference Drake maye couldn't dominate in the WEAK ACC.
I honestly keep going back and forth between the two. It’s still pretty early in the scouting process so I can’t say for sure who my QB1 will be, but I definitely can’t blame you for having him as QB1!
Continue to grow is a stretch. He's definitely worse this year even with better guys around him. There's no excuse for how he started the first 4 games of the season.
Penix has the best arm talent in this draft imo. But people are super low on him. I think Jayden will end up being the best QB from this class. Caleb is super talented but has some bad habits that won’t work on a bad team which he is getting drafted to. We shall see. Penix should be a top 10 picks but narratives…
@@8Casimir I like Mike but he's not a top 10 pick. Yes when everything goes right with the structure of the offense he's shown flashes of being very very good and having borderline elite arm talent. But he's very inconsistent with his accuracy, struggles to throw with touch, struggles badly against pressure getting to the pocket, struggles resetting in the pocket, struggles play out of structure and off platform and he misses open guys a good bit and doesn't throw with consistently great anticipation. He's a boom or bust because everything I mentioned he's shown flashes of being good at , but it's up and down drive to drive and week to week. Very polarizing player. Not to mention he's had 4 season ending injuries
So what do you think? Is he QB1? Do you agree with my analysis of Maye? Do you disagree? Let me know below!

That’s really awesome to hear! Also, thank you- I appreciate it!
I agree, best NFL comp imo. Herbert got beat up by the "experts" coming out as well. Alot of similarities in their game.
Dude I was thinking the same thing while watching. Not quite the big arm but he's Herbert. Wish the vikings could get him
@@coreygross9794there's a small chance dude.
I agree. I hope he falls to the patriots at 3
After these past four years of quarterback classes here’s my answer: who fucking knows.
If you don’t, almost no QB can
@@jameskeffer2972 Very true!
Thank you I really appreciate that! Definitely gifted - I see a lot of potential in him!

I’m a bears fan too and hope and pray they take mhjr with that first pick to continue to build around JF.
@@ScottMicale I don’t think that’s wise when there are plenty of WR in this draft that they can get in the first round: Malik from LSU and Rome from Washington
Second Round: Keon Coleman and a few others
The bears need a QB man idk how you can justify wasting another year on JF1
Great video thanks!
Thank you for watching!
He was looking rough the last 6 weeks,.
I know his O-line is an issue but I'm not as high on him as I was~
I’m very anxiously waiting for the all-22 on those games to comes out! I might do an update on this after if I find it really changes my opinion!
I’m a patriots fan and wanted maye for awhile now but with all the new found hype for JJ and reports of Eliot wolf pushing for him I watched your JJ video and this one and here is my takeaway:
Everything people say maye struggled with JJ for the most part does too and a lot of the strengths JJ has maye also has.
Well he's the QB I drafted in Madden and he's insane. That's all ya need to know folks.
True, I forgot to throw that part in there. Clearly QB1 if that’s the case 😤
Maye is gonna become a franchise quarterback with the right team I hope and pray that Ryan Poles sees what I see in the quarterbacks coming out this year and doesn’t miss our chance to finally get our true quarterback
He very well might be!
Drake Mayes o line really needs to be highlighted too.
I think he's a Patriot come draft time. Maybe a Viking, but I see someone giving a lot to get him
As a Jets fan I really hope not haha.
@@thebigdrew12 Definitely! I can't wait to see how this draft plays out. Going to be really interesting to see where all these top guys land

do bo nix next!!
I might! Working on scouting him rn
Isn't it hard to forget about Trubisky and Howell?
@@TheJumboPackage good work though.

Because the video was posted 2 days after that game even happened and I didn’t have all-22 from it.
Maye plays how I play QB in madden lol
Haha, I can't say I'm any different!
Do you think Herbert's arm strength is better than Maye?
I'd say Maye's is probably a bit less. Still crazy good, but from what I've seen he probably has a slightly lesser arm than Herbert!

I think your suggestion of Daniel Jones as a low-end comp for Maye is interesting and I could see what you mean! What can separate Maye is hopefully being able to progress as a reader of the field.

@@TheJumboPackage Here is what i would offer. To prevent myself from falling into confirmation bias. I give myself rules with looking at players of any position and any sport. These rules are meant to prevent myself from buying into media hype and the group think..... this what i consider for QB's
Look at what is internal to that QB. IE ONLY grade what walks into your NFL locker room ONLY!!!!!!
1 Don't use stats as a basis, (ONLY food for thought that further supports what you see on film)
2 Don't use system they played in as a plus or negative.
5 identify common traits ON FILM that match the successful traits of QB's in the top 5 of MVP odds multiple years...... the raw version of that is two symbiotic skill sets >>>
A) command in the pocket with sack avoidance
B) anticipation throws with ball placement
I list it this way because each of these A and B have definable moving parts that can be accurately evaluated.
It is brutal and often i can only find 4 to 5 games max
when i look at this players I will say. I was left thinking
1 Jayden Daniels Tier 1
2 Micheal Penix jr Tier 2
3 Drake Maye Tier 2
4 Caleb Williams Tier 2
5 Bo Nix Tier 2
This is what film in conjunction with rules i listened bring me too.
@@shankdiddy9045 I'll have to watch these guys as well and see whether I agree! haha
Thats my quarterback,, Maye, Howell, and Ben Johnson is a match made in heaven.. mechanics is muscle memory. He shouldn’t start his 1st year in the nfl, get his footwork right, learn a new system with no pressure.I don’t mimd qb’s turn down honey hole shots to be safe.. in the 1st and 2nd quarter that is.. come fourth quarter though,, he needs to make the big boy throws.
patrick bateman is hilarious lmao
Haha, glad you enjoyed!
He reminds me of Ben Rotheisberger
Interesting comp!
Bro there is like what 8 heights a quarterback can be? Why do people show height and weight percentiles I get weight but…
He looks good out there. But the NFL is different. And most high picks don’t pan out
@@TheJumboPackage but it’s his feet as explained. It shows uncertainty.
A poor mans Josh Allen 🎉
Possibly!
Drake Maye is Justin Herbert 2.0
Very possible!
great great video. love drake. but as a bears fan i see many of the same issues as with justin fields.
- not throwing it.
- leaving the pocket
maye does have fast feet and a super quick release so hopefully he pans out.
Very fair! He definitely has an elongated windup at times, which can make him late on throws he otherwise would've hit!
If not he's definitely 2
I know the Chicago Bears are gonna fuck up another option to take a great pocket passer in Maye they are sold on Fields but as the years go by they are going to wished they drafted Drake Maye. I watched tape on Caleb Williams, and Drake me and great quarterbacks deliver the ball quickly and with accuracy and that’s what Maye brings. Williams is a smaller version of Fields. You can ask any hall of fame quarterback and they will tell you this is a passing league running will not get you to a super bowl so don’t make the mistake Ryan Poles get Maye and it will save your job
should be 1st pick but people like flashy
Now.. if the Bears do decide to move off Justin Fields...(I hope not)
this is the guy that checks the boxes for me..
might be time to bring the The Drakester to chicago!
Not an uncommon opinion! I've seen tons of people with Maye as QB1
I hope they move on from fields he’s had plenty of time and hasn’t improved enough, I hope they get maye
Ehh i don’t like him as a prospect tbh. I think his arm strength is overrated. I hope the patriots don’t take him
His bad machinics and sloppy foot work ( throwing off back foot) are reminiscent of Jay Cutler but so is his arm strength and athleticism. Maybe the Bears will have better luck coaching him up than they did Cutler if they draft him. I like his size better than Williams for the NFL
Interesting! Especially given the fact that he's an option for the Bears haha. He definitely wins the size battle between him and Williams, so I agree on that point
He's the next Matt Ryan. Decent
Interesting comp! Hadn't thought of that. I think he's significantly more mobile than Ryan, but I could see it as a passer.
@TheJumboPackage I think he will become immobile in the NFL and become a pocket passer and a decent QB. Not horrible. Not a Franchise QB. The defensive players in the NFL are just too athletic. He won't be able to scramble as much
@@Dario_Mazzella1975 Interesting - I guess we'll have to see how that pans out!
If you can compare Maye to Herbert, you can compare Williams to Mahomes imo
He's the great white hope
We'll see if he pans out!
And he can punt?! Belichick is definitely licking his chops with Maye
Hahaha - the next Brady in that way!
he did punt a one game
Caleb or Drake is the way to go at QB in the draft !!
So far it seems that way, although I admittedly haven’t gotten super far into scouting the other QBs yet. Both seem to be great prospects!
It's Caleb
youtube creators must make the jobs of GMs so much easier. You all do the analysis for them. 🤣
First thing that pops up for me is how garbage the defenses are that he's playing
This dude gonna make Caleb Williams look like dog Pooh in the NFL.
Meh. I dont see him as the next one. Imo hes baker Mayfield 2
How so - I'm assuming you mean in terms of career trajectory?
I think he’s probably a good quarterback, but he’s not QB1. He’ll go to New England they keep hope alive
It appears to me that Drake was under duress in almost every clip…
good video, Imo Maye is a tier alone.
@@NEPat24 Jayden could very well be the best QB. Haven’t quite gotten around to watching the all-22 yet, but very excited to!
@@glamourassassins as you’ll see from some of my other comments, I think that work ethic and mentality is one of the largest factors in determining whether a draft prospect pans out, so I appreciate that take! I’m looking forward to watching Daniels!
The new QB of the patriots
Possibly!
Yea hes marcus mariota
all your drake maye VIDEO draft profile WHO IS HE PLAYING AGAINST CUPCAKES & COOKIES NONE OF THESE GUYS ARE PROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE CAN PUNT!!!!!!
To be fair.... every single prospect is playing against college players lol (i.e., none of the prospects are playing against pros).
Florida state went undefeated and couldn't to the championship FINAL 4 that's why they're trying to get out to ACC because nobody respects the teams there they know it's a weak conference Drake maye couldn't dominate in the WEAK ACC.
Perfect for the Bears right now
possibly!
Nah we going caleb
People who call him another Mitch Trubisky because he #10 and from NC are lazy this kid way better.
True- Helmet scouting is the worst type of analysis imo!
Daniel jones
noone is this town will be a laughing stock at having two UNC quarterbacks
Jayden Daniels is more mature and qb1
Lets go patriots
I prefer Maye to Caleb.
If Fields doesn't continue his growth this season, I'd take Maye @ #1.
WE picking Caleb
Penix is QB 1, Daniels is QB2...barely missing #1....upside is higher than Penix.....Maye is QB#3...
i'm not drafting Caleb Williams...Bryce Young 2.0
Well. This is certainly a take of someone who doesn't watch tape of said players. Respectfully
@@8Casimir
I like Mike but he's not a top 10 pick.
@@JasonLewis544 yeah I completely disagree but time will tell
@@8Casimir
I hope I'm wrong but I just say what I see on tape
He will bust badly
Drake maye has been watching josh Allen real close he plays just like him
I could definitely see it at times!
