I have two questions 1. What the heck is going on when a solid black cat appears to look like it has stripes? Like I know one of my grandma's cats is a tuxedo cat, but when she is in certain lightings or laying in a sun spot, she look like she has spotted tabby stripes. Is it like with ginger as they will appear as they have some stripes even when they don't have the gene for stripes? 2. If smoke is considered solid what then determines their "pattern"? Like some look like they don't have much stripes, while some will look like they're a mackerel/spotted tabby, and some even appear to look like they have a classic tabby??? Even though they're considering solid? I want to know more about smokes since I'm thinking of making a wc oc that's a smoke. (My apologies if there's any spelling errors)

I’m watching this a second time and it is incredibly confusing - from someone who is more creative than science-y. I write books for fun and stuff. I truly think most of this is unnecessary for writers. You don’t need to know like 95%. Like this video is aimed at people who have more scientific brains, people who think logically over creatively. People who are taking college-level courses for genetics and shit. If you’re a writer, all you need to know is the basics. I doubt anyone is going to need to get THIS complicated when writing a fantasy book about cats aimed at children 😅. Just a simple google search would do. And I’m also fairly positive most people will not be thinking all this Naz! shit is still real and most people will get it is extremely bigoted, usually they are older people, like old, old people who don’t even know what the hell Warriors even is 😅. And a lot of them are too stubborn even listening to some random person talking about it anyways. Just my two cents. I just really don’t want this labelled as something for writers, because people like me, usually people don’t understand incredibly complex, incredibly in-depth, college-level stuff for people who actually study this kind of stuff. Like this is literally college-level stuff that you learn not even in just basic science in college probably, I’m not in there yet, like this just sounds like something someone who is studying for a genetics degree needs to hear. Like eventually I’ll get this since I will be going to college for a doctorate in zoology, but right now, I just feel it’s just unnecessary. Very unnecessary, I just don’t understand how writers need to know this history of genetics and every level of color genetics like all you need is a simple four square chart kind of basic. Like I’m sorry if this comes out rude, not my intention I have autism, just really, extremely, don’t understand where you’re coming from that writers should know this stuff. Like I am drawing a blank. Like even when you explained why they should know this, I just don’t agree and don’t understand how or why they need to.

It’s hard to explain exactly what she looks like but a certain cat on the internet named “retro the cross eyed lynx point Siamese” she might be either just a silver tabby with chocolate stripes, or whatever a lynx point Siamese is, if you can give me any info it’ll be much appreciated! Maybe you covered something in previous videos and I’m just having a big goof, if so, really sorry!

My friends cat is a grey tabby with a small spot of cream on her belly. I didn't see it so I thought she was just grey. Then I got really confused when one of her sons turned out ginger lol
