This is a prototype for an upcoming keyboard by keebscape.co. Join my discord below for updates on the board. These Cherry MX Purples are modded by Unikeys (relatively) new modded Cherry switch offering. They appear to have been cleaned of the excess lubricant in the bottom housings that MX2A Cherry switches come with, as well as spring swapped, filmed, and lightly lubed on the stem sliders. Wh...

HMX Retro FJ400 Switch | Neo Ergo Sound Test
มุมมอง 3.4K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Retro FJ 400 HMX switches use one of HMX's T material stems, specifically T2, along with one of their PA66/Fiberglass blends in the bottom housing. The combination of a softer (deeper sounding) stem, and a high-pitched/clacky nylon/fiberglass blended bottom housing actually makes for a switch that sounds more middle of the road in terms of pitch, and possibly a bit more full than the tradit...

HMX Retro Game 1989 Switch | Unikorn Sound Test
มุมมอง 4.7K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Retro Game 1989 HMX pre-lubed linear switches are on the deeper side of the HMX switch spectrum. They might actually be the deepest sounding HMX switch, likely due to the new "T5" stem that they use. I've found that switches that use these "T" material stems all tend to be deeper sounding. Overall, the switches are great. Mine seem to be lubed very well (no surprises there), and do not have...
HMX Retro KD200 Switch | kronos prototype Sound Test
มุมมอง 5K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Retro KD200 switches have an almost identical spec sheet as HMX Cheese. The only difference is the spring weight, which bottoms out at 50g on the KD200s compared to 43gs on the Cheese. So, are they good switches? Yes. They have that signature HMX high pitched clackiness, which comes from the nylon/fiberglass blend in the bottom housing, coupled with an LY stem. I have heard from some other ...

HMX Gachapon | Mode SixtyFive (2024) Sound Test
มุมมอง 3.8K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Another HMX switch... they must be doing recolors at this point, right? Nahhh, the Gachapon switches use two "relatively" new materials, in the T4 stem and the "TG30" bottom housing. I've found the T4 stem is very comparable to both T2 and T3. It results in a deeper sound when compared to POM or LY. This TG30 material is also seemingly new, but the listed material composition is the same as man...

Sound wise this or Arc60?
That's tough. They're so different. The Arc60 is a much deeper sounding board, whereas the LX60 is higher pitched. It's been a while since I've typed on an Arc60, but I think I'd prefer this. It's close though
@@keebscape thanks for the feedback. Awesome review and build! I would instantly cop the copper version if it had a top mount. Also waiting for the solaris
nice keyboard with good price, however green keycaps doesnt match silver case and copper bottom/accents
I reckon it works well
Iʻm interested in picking these up. Iʻm wondering how these you would rank these on Keeb Taroʻs charts if you are familiar with it?
Oh man, that might be tough. They are so different from every other HMX since they are not long pole switches.
@@keebscape Yeah I’ve realized that, with these being full travel and rail bottom out switches. I’ll still pick up a batch of these since they’ve improved the factory lubing!
Appreciate the review, I love seeing a weighted gummy o ring at this price point, it’s currently my favorite mounting style, and this thing is an insane value. I’d personally love one of these with the smoked PC top and full copper bottom, though that gets to be a fair bit more expensive.
How would you describe the tactile bump? How close it is to start of the travel?
924 Durgan Bypass
How do u get such a nice sounding spacebar on hmx cheese? My 6.25u spacebar sounds super muted, is it because of the FR4 plate or should I use 7u spacebar? Mine sounds more like a thump than a pop

arent they Villanelle caps
@@jiwany nahh they’re Chladni. Very similar in color though!
@@keebscape oh where did you get them? i couldnt find it hehe
can you compare this with mx black?
It's comparable. Mx blacks were the inspiration for the switch. In my opinion, stock Snow Crash is much smoother and more enjoyable to type on than stock mx blacks.
What stabs did you use for this Neo Ergo build?
I used the neo stabs that were included with the kit!
Hey man! How would you compare these cheese to an mx black/brown on alu? I've been looking to switch things up for my korn as well
Would you recommend those? Sounds delicious.

Can you recommend a budget board which has good without foam?
space is bad bro
I just tried both the Yellow and Red versions. They are surprisingly *so* different from each other that I cant decide which to use. Yellow feels very creamy but sounds very muted. The sound is a doule edged sword as sometimes i want a more mellow typing sound but often is too quiet for my preferences despite me usually likeing how it feels (sometimes feels too mushy for my preferences). The reds feel very crisp and produce a deep pop sound which is satisfying but was hoping for a switch that wasnt *as* loud (roughly as loud as my alpacas). I almost want to get a full set of both but I know myself enough to know id likely end up only using one. The yellows are very good but seem like a switch id have to be in the mood for to enjoy while the reds are more well rounded but to me doesnt feel and sound as unique as the yellows (not to say the reds dont feel and sound good, a lot better than my alpacas). I cant decide which to keep and get a full set of.

how do you make the spacebar so good its so GOOD
@@Bobleeson-q2i thanks! Haha The board has a great spacebar but the secret is using a clacky long pole
I just picked these up and installed them. Loving them so far. I switched over from the Akko V3 Lavender Purples, which were really good for typing, perfect tactile weight, but the short travel on the creamy really make these better where you have to keep pressing the same keys, like gaming or using hotkey-heavy creativity apps. I was like "oh yeah. that's exactly the change the lavender purples needed." Personally, I think the shorter travel also happens to be good for typing so it's not a compromise at all on that front. It kinda sucks that these wouldn't be great for LEDs. I hope there's a version with a hole and light guide or something in the future. The other thing I imagine could be improved is a more cushioned bottom-out. Maybe a silent version that's this light? I'm perfectly fine with the stock lubing though. No modding necessary if it's not your jam. But I typically find the actual "creamy" sound of other switches to be uncomfortable to listen to. The slight "scratch" on the Akkos I've tried is perfect amount of texture for me. The Lavender Purples made me think they were already pretty good, but after using them for WASD controls, I wondered if I would really just prefer something low-profile. The Creamy Purple Pros changed my mind. I think I could go either way but this made me think shorter travel is the way to go for the main alpha keys if I was ever stuck with a classic profile keyboard. The Creamy Purple Pros combo well with the Gateron Jupiter Bananas (imo, kinda heavy for non-typing uses) and Akko V3 Lavender Purples. They have the same early tactile bump.
wow, nice
@@kwwcom thank you 😁

The sound of this board is beautiful
with PP and BCPs, I had to assume it would be good! gummy o ring 60s just sound so lively. That said, I wish someone could engineer something that sounded like a BCP with 4mm travel
