Thank you so much! Whoops, I forgot to put it in the description. It’s GMK Noire. The set was run back in 2020. The vendors were Project Keyboard, Oblotzky, Desk Hero, iLumkb, and Daily Clack. If you can’t find it, there is a similar set called GMK Black Snail (Cream colored legends on black) that GEON.WORKS currently has in stock. I think there are a number of regional vendors with it in stock, too
Hey Dave! Welcome to the channel :) Theoretically, they should sound the exact same, but the lighter spring and reduced travel probably contribute to a more forceful bottom out when compared to the newer ones with the heavier springs and longer travel. Slight differences in the amount of factory applied lube could also contribute to a slight change in sound too.
it seems like the shorter distance and lighter spring of the originals allow for a more "impactful", pronounced bottom-out. I think I weirdly prefer the originals in terms of sound 🤔
@@Zliarx There's 3 main groupings of HMX in terms of sound profile.. So if you look at some that fall in the same group, then yea, they sound really close. But there's low pitch, mid and high pitch that the HMX family falls into. But all are generally clackier than MX Blacks and some BSUN switches.
Fair take! I’ve tried so many of them, and sometimes when I get comments on old videos like “what’s deeper, HMX This or HMX That?” I have to grab the switches, click them a few times, and struggle to come up with an answer haha. On the other hand, I feel like using so many for so long has sort of trained my ear. I can definitely tell the difference between some of them. E.g., all the ones with “T2”, “T3”, or Modified UPE stems sound noticeably different than those with LY or POM stems. Many of them sound very similar, but hey, at least they make an effort to put out somewhat unique switches, instead of years worth of recolors *cough* JWK *cough*
Its a fair assessment, they def have hmx signature sound same way cherry and gateron do. I built a board with 7 different random hmx at once 10 of each for the memes. Was just one homogeneous clack board. Brought to mini meet and challenged anyone to identify individual switches. Noone could with any confidence. Lol
sounds so good as always!
Thanks homie
Which one is your favorite, HMX Sunset Gleam or Gateron Smoothie (the blue one)?
If all keyboards in your videos are yours, then your collection is getting ridiculous. Nice, we can only envy.
Indeed, grail after grail after grail here
What's the name/vendor of this keycap set again? this is absolutely endgame gorgeous both aesthetics and acoustics
Thank you so much!

@@keebscape thanks, really appreciate this!
So this is basically a toned down version of the first Sunset Gleams pitch and volume wise?

Does the 3.9mm feel more sluggish?
Not that I've noticed
Is that this 3.9 same with V2U ? And more clacky than V2U or not ?
Yeah, I believe so. And yes, more clacky!
@@keebscape tks bro
What Mic are you using ??
Zoom H4n Pro
@@keebscape sounds 👌🏻
Compare with cheese, which one do you feel better ?
Cheese is a bit higher pitched / clackier. I like cheese more :)

Idk, I think all HMX's sound pretty damm similar. Its like one you've tried one, you've tried them all.
