Warrior Philosophy: Why It Is Time To Lose
Rocky did not with "24 seconds left in the fight" in Charles 2 (the nose injury fight) Rocky knocked out Charles in Round 8 of a scheduled 15 rounder. There was 24 seconds left in the round and you can make a case that they could had stopped the fight after that round because of the injury but Rocky was starting to beat the shit out of Ezzard and it's doubtful that they would have stopped it and just given the champ the benefit of the doubt.
While a man that knew his limits are the honest, and simple ones, the one that never gives up,who was always in denial of his limitations are always at the top, they may get longtime risks in the later future, but they never regretted it, it's always the cost for greatness, some may make it to the top riskless, but most has to wrnt thru blood, sweats, tears to finally achieve greatness and one man was a big example of it, Rocco Francis Marchegiano, Rocky, Marciano.
49-0-0 43 wins by ko 70 years later still the only undisputed undefeated Heavyweight Champion of all time. The GOAT that is all.
Rocky Marciano is the tuffest boxer in history no question about that!
So excited for this bro!!! 🔥
That means the world! I really do hope you enjoy it and see it as an improvement. I’m still evolving and working on improving as a writer. This one I hope offers a smoother reading experience!
This is fantastic. Looking forward to it. 👍
Too kind! Thank you for that, seriously! I really hope you enjoy it.
This is amazing
Oh man! You are making my day. Thank you🙏🏻 very kind, thank you!
Stay to the end for a kick-ass live-action trailer from the great @njamnhummel
One of my favourite films and I relate to your breakdown. It’s a long journey to find your Isabel. But at the same time he wasn’t ready yet even when he eventually did. Still running the gauntlet of bootleg liquor after having a family. Other men may be philosophically inclined whilst others just do. Jungian’s process of individualisation is a huge contributing factor although Tristan’s suffering one could say was through a lack of understanding of his shadow self. Some times there is a ceiling to one’s ability to self comprehension.
Like David and Goliath. Goliath was a man of war, outmatched David in every way. But God gave him the victory.
This was amazing
10 outta 10 video thank you liked and subscribed🙏
Way I think about first drafts is the 1st couple reps of that one kick that’s practiced 1,000 times. Sure the first how many will be bad but imagine what it will look like after all this time.
Cinematic prose is the writer holding the camera. Versus actually writing a screenplay is usually - "Ext. DAY, WATERFALL." The screenwriter can't waste page space on description.
Yep, totally different animal! Well said!
Amazing and well put !!! Thank you sir for this video
Always a great day when I can kick back and listen to James and Goozdich talk a little about writing and their projects. Good stuff.
We need a Jones and James double interview convo!

I called it. I didn't know that Noah Redford came from actor Robert Redford but I had a feeling that it did before I heard about this on this video. Didn't know where the "Noah" came from. Good to know all this behind the scenes info.
Nice call! Yes, good ol’ Robert Redford!
I have been enjoying the Noah Redford adventures. I can tell that you’re having fun with it.
It is so great to hear you say you’ve been enjoying it! That means everything 👊🏼 thank you much!
It’s fun to see firsts drafts and be there for them along the way as if it’s been serialized in a magazine. Keep it going!
Will do! Your support means a ton! Thank you, brother.
Bro, love this behind the scenes! I’ve been trying to make time to jump into Noah but have been crazy getting prepped for baby #5 any day now! 😳 def jumping in soon though! And I’ll be preordering book 3 today! So excited for it and proud of you my man!
Baby number 5! Dude, congrats on that. What a wonderful blessing. I hear you when you say it’s been crazy. I have 2 and free time is already very elusive😂
Susannah wouldn’t get off Tristian’s leg. They screw around once and she’s talking forever after, I’m having your babies, waiting around to get f-ed. I’ll kill myself if you don’t love me. Etc. (Cuckoo!) Alfred did the same thing to Susan. “Is everything okay? I only heard one bowel movement this morning? It was Tristian!”
Bro. I can not tell you how much I absolutely LOVE this video!! Everything about it! So amazing to hear the story of Jesus getting ahold of you and letting him grow you! and I totally understand the pressure of death thing - I had a drowning accident and died when I was 13 so I’m rocking that borrowed time straight from Jesus too! 🙏🙌 I am beyond excited to read the new book brother!
Wow, brother! Thank you for this comment. So encouraging, means much more than you know. Jesus is a powerful and truly gracious king of kings. Let’s keep on making the most of our borrowed time!
Every writer has their own personal journey, and their own relationship and struggle with the language. (for example, I'm talking about what Eliot said in his Four Quartets.)
Thank you for taking time to comment! Yes, sir! You’re right. That’s why I’m totally cool with having outgrown my old writing. It’s all a part of the journey. All the best to you!
Cool channel! subbed
I appreciate that greatly, man. Very happy to have you here.
Love the honesty! Very cool to see your growth as a person and as a writer. Excited for what's to come. Also awesome to hear you talking about your faith in Jesus!
Means a lot coming from you! Thank you much🥊
You did what you needed to do. As you’ve said. Don’t get your story perfect get it written. I understand that always wanna get the story and whatever is you wanna do perfect but it’s not gonna always turn out that way. Feel it’s better to take a chance and live with whatever comes than to not do it at all
Certainly, that’s why I don’t regret these books. I’ve just outgrown them, in a good way! Thanks for the support🥊
Broken Fang Trilogy also known as an author's character development in real life. Amazing stuff man!
😂funny, yet strikingly accurate. The books took a character arc with me haha
Thank you to writer Charles Hack for giving my the motivation I needed to actually make this video and share this!
On my granny grave
Feel like both books and movies are always looking at other books and movies for ideas yet they make their own versions of what they seen
It’s so so sad , I know the feeling Tommy had , not saying I’m in anyway good looking like Tommy , but temptation is hard to overcome
Good shit.
Loved the list, loved the breakdowns. Honored to be featured and to have made the thumbnail. Keep crushing it, dude. Happy to be in your circle and to have you in my corner!!
Honored to know you, brother. Have a great launch day on Monday.
Bro! So excited to check out your Noah Redford stuff and the Hawklin books :) Also, LOVE time to hunt! Hunter is a freakin MASTER of the game
I appreciate that so much, man! I’m pumped for Time to Hunt! Have not read enough Hunter at all. He’s too good.
Links in the description.
Great analysis. Would recommend slowing down during the explanation and being a bit less monotoned. I found myself a little lost during it at times. Really interesting and helpful content in understanding the messages of the film though.
Amazing!! ❤❤
What a great philosophy very well spoken Rocky's nose sliced in half and said "I gotta get this guy" doesn't even think of stopping and wins. Today the fighters would call the fight. But not the Rock.
Amazing skills! Thanks for sharing!
Well said! Medical cures and inventions sometimes take years to develop. Quiters never win and winners never quit!
I see the way you sneeked the vile practice of MMA into this video. What Rocky did in the ring honorable and incredible, there is no comparison with the thuggish, blood lust that is MMA.
Nice video and explanation with respect to Tommy. This goes to all of us who need self correction and move from the path of self-destruction. Alcohol, drugs, porn, one night stands...more than ever around us and easy accessible. Best regards and wish young man to wake up and follow the real values in the life.💪🥊
I think it’s great to understand the raw emotions that go into writing. It’s not just philosophical mumbo jumbo. It’s a narrative symbolism/analogy of someone’s experience hidden in a fictional world. It makes things more relatable.
It’s kind of neat the way the messages in there didn’t even occur me until a year or more later haha shows you thst you can’t really try to force the philosophies in there
Great video man. Merry Christmas 🎄👍 & God Bless. 🙏🏻
Much appreciated! Right back at you, my brother!
Nice to see The Rock appreciated for something that cannot be taught--how to deal with adversity. However a few things you said are incorrect about the Charles fight when Rocky's nose was hanging off of his face. It did not go 15 rounds, it went 8. At the end of the 7th round, the injury was so bad the ref wanted to stop the fight, but told Rocky he would give him one more round before stopping the fight. Rocky did it for him with a brutal KO of Ezzard.
Charlie Goldman said Rocky was the only fighter he ever knew that LOVED to train. Goldman also said when he attempted to take him to complete physical exhaustion Rocky just smiled and refused to take a single break.
this 6 minute blah blah blah cd have been just as effective if it was 1 minute long
Heck yeah! I needed to be more concise. For sure!
He was a fascinating guy.
Couldn’t agree more, brother! 🥊
@@lsauthor He had that incredible drive to be great that very few people have. He would rather have died than end up in the shoe factory where his father worked. The ultimate overachiever.
It has to do with all the things he can give his family and get them from a life of suffering
One great movie. Towards boxing bout one’s heart nd will outside boxing do what need to do to feed his family overall well documentary nd history of things goin on during Great Depression
