I always felt like there was a very spiritual aspect to fighting that people who don't fight could never understand, and would often belittle. Thanks for putting this into words!

I greatly appreciate you taking the time to write this. Thank you for the kind words. I couldn’t agree more. People outside of the sport do not see or appreciate the inner life of fighters and the true art and philosophy offered to practitioners.

Goes to show that no matter what you do you will always run into speed bumps and failures. I remember Anthony Robles explaining his meaning of unstoppable not being never being defeated. He mentioned you will be defeated here and there but his mindset refuses to remain defeated. Also details that win or learn mindset that is used in combat sports. You’ll hear fighters say that sometimes a loss is the best thing to have happened to them. Max Holloway put it best. A champion is not someone who is invincible a champion is someone who can hit rock bottom and still make it all the way to the top and how a loss is only a loss if you didn’t learn from it. Dustin Poirier said it best that adversity introduces a man to himself after his losses early in his career and his loss to Khabib. Dominick Cruz also mentioned looking at wins and losses in the gray areas and seeing how a loss can be a gift if you accept it,take responsibility for it and grow from it.
My biggest and favorite example of this philosophy is Johnnys pre-tournament speech about how things can be going well for you then all of a sudden life throws a massive sucker punch at you showing no mercy and literally teaching his students what meaning of no mercy truly means. I think he couldn’t have said it any better and it’s truly something that I always take to heart yet I wish I were able to prepare for these sucker punches but just like Randy Orton’s RKO’s they come from outta nowhere.
Anyways taking lessons to heart really gives a whole another perspective on these things.

Losses can really wake us up. Those sucker punches from life can really take us in new directions we never expected. This was the case with my brush with death.

Man you been on the grind on ur channel, I think you got something but you should try to edit your videos with more graphics or maybe background music at a low volume, you’ve got good messages would like to see them go further. I wouldn’t discount using yt shorts to grow your subscriptions too one big short can get you far

Love this advice man! I think you’re right, I need to get some graphics and possibly music in there. Also, thanks to you, I’ll look more into TH-cam shorts. I’m oblivious, thank you brother.

Sometimes the algorithm actually helps. That’s pretty deep. Warrior is the movie that cemented Tom Hardy as my favorite actor but your words cut deep. Earned a sub my friend.
