We were pretty much right in front of Monmouth Beach in this video

Very low wind most of the day on this trip. Was able to use 2oz almost the whole day. 3oz towards the end.

All the Fluke in this video came out of NJ waters. All were legal fish.

@@MartinVSmith6334 No Fluke were kept from New York. We started there caught a striper and moved down the beach at Sandy Hook like stated in the intro.

They are for sure harder to catch i agree. The ones i get are typically out of a fresh stocking so they are more susceptible to hit something. The ones i come across that have been in there for awhile hardly ever want to hit. That’s when light line and flys outproduce anything. But i agree out of all the stocked trout in PA they are the most difficult to trick!

Nothing crazy. About 6 feet of 20lb fluorocarbon leader. Either a plain diamond jig or ball jig with gulp on bottom and about a foot up i tie a dropper loop with a plain 5/0 to 7/0 octopus hook tipped with gulp or zman. This trip they would eat anything it seemed

South Jersey has its hot spots. Early season back bay stuff I like South Jersey allot. Come mid summer tho def prefer North.

Yeah not my fish to begin with but it swam away perfectly fine. Would have kept and ate it if it was in trouble.

💯 percent! Couldn’t agree more! Sadly the size of state stocked trout hasn’t inflated like the price of our fishing licenses lol. I did see an increased number of good size state stocked Goldens this year. I think that’s going in the wrong direction. Stock more good size browns, bows, and brooks. Fish that can’t get picked off as easy by Blue Herons and unethical anglers. These clubs do a lot for quality trout opportunities in our state.

Kind of like that at the state trout parks here in MO too. They do let out some big ones...but elbow to elbow fishing pressure sees most caught quick I'd imagine. You always see some lunkers, (5-10 lbs) that just don't seem interested at all.

Yeah that was most likely the same day. I don’t fish up there a ton but this is where they used to have a trout derby. Shot in the dark type trip and they just happened to be stocking

To be honest almost all my trout videos come directly after a fresh stocking. There are times when they shut down. Especially when water temps rise and they start to get sluggish or start keying in on insects.

Most people call it dough bait. It’s crushed pellets with a tiny bit of water added. Creates a dough consistency. Great for stocked trout

I was actually up there today. Caught one of those massive Bows from the Derby. Like 24/25in. I left right when the truck pulled up today but i did see a nice Golden go in.

That brownie was a hog 👊🏻 but there are monster carp in there too, I was at sandy bottom one year put my rod down to shoot the shit with my pop, carp grabbed my line and pulled my rod in, never to be seen again 😂

It is a Diawa Regal LT 1000. Smallest one they make. Promise you won’t find a smoother reel for that price point. Paired with a 5’6 St Croix premier.

In this video im using dough bait i make from the hatchery pellets. Rapalas work very well there also.

It’s open to public. $11 a day to fish it I believe. They have their Expert Derby once a year. That’s first come first serve to enter it. They stock the pond a bunch of times during the season tho. They also have another derby in a few weeks. Check out their website for more info

Thanks brotha i appreciate the views and Sub! I would say def download the fishboatpa app. I pretty much fish all over Delco until late may when i switch over to salt water. Delco has some good streams. Darby creek, Chester creek, Ridley Creek. That app will give you info on when and where they will be stocking those streams. Its a great resource. This area has 3 youth trout derbys as well where they put awesome fish in. Obviously can’t fish them on the derby days but the fishing is usually great for weeks after. Clifton Heights Trout Derby, Field and stream trout derby, and Radnor Township Trout Derby. Awesome to bring kids too if you have that opportunity, if not there’s good fish left over for awhile.

Yeah ill try to do some more informative videos with my setups in the future. In this video im using a 5’ st croix premier and a shimano nasci 500 series. If you want good cast ability your line selection is probably the most important thing followed by your rod choice. Smaller line diameter will give you better casting distance. I use 4lb seaguar red label fluorocarbon. This line has the same diameter as 2lb monofilament so it has great cast ability along with strength. You do have to change out fluorocarbon more frequently since it tends to dry out after a few trips but its vastly superior to monofilament in my opinion. Its also virtually invisible under the water and that plays a huge part in trout fishing. The rod im using is ultralight so there’s a nice whip in the blank while casting. Keep that line on your reel relatively new and you’ll have great casting distance!

Show me where it says anything about the worms im using being illegal in the book or for that matter anywhere on a delayed harvest stream poster. It doesn’t. Ive thoroughly researched this exact topic. Ive also spoke to the game commission on this exact topic and was told its completely legal. Years ago there was wording in the rules to prevent use of these types of soft plastics. The rules have been revised and reworded since and mention nothing about these soft plastics being illegal. If it was illegal i wouldn’t be doing it plain and simple.

We asked a fish commission agent this exact question with that exact worm. This was 2 years ago, but he said it was not considered a legal lure according to their definitions. I was just trying to help you, and if they changed the wording in the last 2 years I'll gladly say sorry for the mess up.

Looking at the book I'd say they have changed the definition, so I believe you are right. Wasn't trying to piss you off we did literally ask about this a couple years ago.

@@richpetrasek7692 The wording wasn’t changed in the last 2 years it was changed over ten years ago i believe. Which commissioner did you speak to? I can tell you i personally spoke to the commissioner at McMichael Creek just last year and was told its completely fine. There’s also nothing in the book or on the pfbc website that suggests using a rubber worm is illegal. If i was told tomorrow by a pfbc officer that it was illegal id never use it again in a dhalo stream. Fact is i was told the exact opposite. This isn’t opinion or word of mouth it came straight from an officer so ill trust his word and my research. Fact is these soft plastics have been in discussion for awhile now and if the pfbc felt necessary it would be in the book not up for debate between anglers.

@@richpetrasek7692 You didn’t piss me off i appreciate the convo. Ive just heard this brought up soo many times before that ive done my research and asked the appropriate people “an actual officer”. Fact is the old wording in the regulations prevented use of lures such as these among many others but it has since been revised. People tend to think these are the current regulations.

I don’t wanna get everybody riled up on here for spot burning Chrisitian but just look up delayed harvest areas in Chester County. There’s a few to choose from and they all currently have fish. Artificial lures only and all catch a release

Not far from AC but more towards Strathmere area. Honestly if you time the tides correctly you can find flounder all over south jersey early season. Specifically inlets and back bay waters.
