เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 23 ส.ค. 2021
The goal of this channel is to promote Beekeeping in a positive light, and to provide quality content of our success and failures, in our Sideline Beekeeping operation. Craig has been keeping bees for over 25 Years and upon his retirement from Law Enforcement decided to start focusing on expanding our operation. We currently run around 100 production colonies and produce Nucs and Honey. We enjoy learning new ideas and keeping up to date with the Beekeeping industry. Thanks for stopping by.
Beekeeping: First Cell Builder 2024 | Queen Rearing
In this video, We take you along as we build our first cell builder of the 2024 season. Its small and is designed to produce around 10 early queens from limited resources. You can make smaller cell builders, but you wont get as many cells and you can't push them as hard. We have grafted and hopefully the grafts will take and we will be on our way to spitting colonies. Beekeeping is sometimes challenging, but a lot of it is timing, science, and biology. If you can learn a little about those things you will be successful. We hope you enjoy this video. Thanks for watching and happy Beekeeping.

Beekeeping: Corbin feeding Sugar Bricks to Queen Breeders!
มุมมอง 5357 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video, Corbin makes his own video of feeding sugar bricks to our queen breeder colonies. Sugar bricks are good for emergency rations when colonies are low on stores. We always like for our colonies to have sugar bricks in late winter into early spring. Most overwintering colonies will starve in early spring if they don't have enough stores. This is due to the extreme consumption used fo...
Beekeeping | Quick and Easy Sugar Bricks For Emergency Feed
มุมมอง 3887 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video, We show you our quick and easy method of making sugar bricks for emergency feeding. All you need is sugar, water and air. These sugar bricks make perfect emergency feed. We try to always have them on hand for when a colony needs feed. They can even be used during a dearth to feed struggling colonies with less risk to robbing than liquid feed. We hope you enjoy. We have also start...

Beekeeping: Stop Buying Bees Pt. 11
มุมมอง 3.4Kปีที่แล้ว
Welcome to part 11 of the stop buying bees series. In this video, We demonstrate you can indeed stop buying bees and become self sustainable as a beekeeper even if you are new. We started with two colonies coming out of the winter. One of the had a drone laying queen and was destined to be a deadout. We worked the bees and the drone laying colony and manipulated it in certain ways that increase...
Beekeeping: Stop Buying Bees Pt.10 Bad Weather
มุมมอง 3.5Kปีที่แล้ว
In this video, We discuss the issues of bad weather with early spring splits. We also install new queen cells into the colonies that had virgins. We did this due to the possible low drone populations, Freezing temperatures, Rain and windy conditions. We installed the new cells today and the forecast shows better mating conditions in the next few weeks. We also installed a cell into the queenles...

I love the half dose apigaurd. Queens don’t shut down and still a great kill
When you only use 12ml in a small colony do you do any extra treatments? Or is it the same number of treatments as the strong colonies that get 25ml?
Quick questions: will a new queen reverse, kill or otherwise stop a laying worker? And is there any difference between the drones of a laying worker and the drones of the queen?
Sounds like those bees are right on the camera man
Thanks for your video because you feed them and they don't rob the other colonies
Noying back ground noise shitty video
Why wouldn't u just pinch the queen and then put a frame of eggs? (In the colony that's queen is faultering)
I know this video has a little age on it BUT it is a good reminder video because this time is coming soon it is just around the corner. Thanks
Haven't bought bees in 8 years. Went from 8 hives to 20 in 2 years. Could've done it faster, but decided to be cautious.
Where ya located at Craig
We are in North Carolina
Fantastic Arkansas here, looking forward to the next video.
Glad to see you back
Glad to be back! Thanks for tuning in.
I really like your bucket. was ir hard to make thanks.
It was fairly simple to make. Just a bulkhead fitting from lowes or Home Depot and a valve. Let us know if you have any questions.
hoping to get mine set up in a couple of weeks. I dont think I will try grafting till mid April, we wont have drones or good mating weather till then
Yes it’s always best to make sure you have drones flying. We are pushing it a little but have our fingers crossed 🤞. Thanks for watching.
I am in Virginia, it hit 71 today just wonderful I am checking hives and equaling next 3 day are going to be wonderful as well I enjoyed your video Thnks for doing them Have a blessed week
Thanks for the kind words! Thanks for tuning in. See you on the next one.
Glad you are doing this for everyone. I know I need the help and am sure others appreciate it as well.
I needed this help when I was a young beekeeper. But didn’t have anyone to show me the way, so I read and did a lot of failing before I figured it out. Thanks for watching. 🙏🙏
Awesome Video!
Thank you! 🙏
Wow! The 2024 season is here already. We are excited to begin rearing some queens to make some early splits. There is nothing like the energy in the spring APIARY. Let us know if we confused any of you, lol sometimes we confuse ourselves when we begin. Hope you all are well and have an amazing 2024 season! God Bless and Happy Beekeeping!
Good to see you back, Craig!
Glad to be back. Looking forward to the upcoming season.
Nice to see you back and running with the bees. Looks like you got some challenges and some opportunities. Have fun with the bees.
Good to be back. Alway have our share of challenges. Thanks for watching.
look forward to you continuing the series. hopefully you picked up the loose comb that slid off when you tipped the one box up? Bee Blessed!
Thanks for watching. Yes we grabbed the comb. We don’t like to leave it out in the yards. Plus we use a lot of wax.
Hello Hello Craig it is good to see you back in the bee yard an I know you are glad to be back in there also . You looking at the drones we are having drones by the truck load already here so maybe yours are just around the corner. For some reason my home yard last season went into winter was a lot smaller than I like for them to be but everything in both yards came out of winter doing great but this yard was still smaller but in the last two weeks they have gone wide open an I have added a super to all but one box just to give room mainly. I hope you have a great season an looking forward to see what you have going on. I always like to see what bee keepers around me are doing that way it kind of tells me just what I should be planning for my operation. One thing I have dandelions going wide open an I have not saw that many in years an year. Thanks
Hey Kathy! We are glad to be back. Hoping for a great season. We have some drones but none flying yet.
Craig I really enjoy your videos I wish u would do more. Bees look great. Hope u do more videos, hope u have a good bee season
Thanks for watching! We hope to get a lot of videos out this season.
Wish mine were that nice in cloudy and cool days. Ate me up!! Good to see you again my friend. I like to texted you the other day to check on you 😂😂. Just pulled my first cells today from my builder.
Hey Mike! I’m playing catch up with TH-cam, but I really like your swarm trapping video. Can you believe I’ve never caught a swarm in an intentionally set swarm trap. I try every year lol. We catch some in old equipment. Going to build a box like yours. I hope you all are well. Prayers for you my friend and a great season.
Can’t wait to finish the series of not buying bees. Looking forward to more videos
Thanks for watching. More to come soon.
Looking awesome
Thanks Kajun!

Always enjoy seeing new videos from you! Do you ever come to the GC Beekeepers meetings? I got my first "kiss" last week. Have a great year!
Thanks for tuning in. I started going when I was about 13 and went for several years. Then life happened and I quit attending and just stayed a member of the state. I really should come back. It was always a great association.
cant wait for mine to get back from Almonds. my plans are to make lots of queens this year. last year was a rough year for queens for me. the queens I bought failed, and all I made just replaced them, no growth in colonies at all.
I hope the bees come back from the almonds in great shape ready to split. Those kind of years happen when you just play catch up. Prayers for a great season.
Good to see you! Thanks!
Thanks 🙏
The first inspection of the cell builder colonies is always fun. Its always nice to see they are doing well. We noticed a few drones, so we will be rearing queens before long. We are planning on continuing the stop buying bees series since we didn't get to complete it. These colonies are well on their way to producing some good queens for us. Let us know what you think? or if you have any questions, be sure to comment below. Hope everyone is well and Happy Beekeeping!
Been wondering how things are going, good to see ya.👍

Thank you 🙏!
Good to see you back making a video. Enjoyed the prospecting video too!!
Thanks for watching! Good to be back my friend.
Hello Hello Hello I thought you must have got a call. I use the same container to do my bricks an I get around 6 to 61/2 bricks out of 10 Lbs. I also put mine in the oven at 170 because that is as low as ours will go for about a hour an s half also a paint mixer on a drill with sugar in a five gallon bucket does great to mix an it keeps it off your hands . So good to see you back an looking forward to your updates . Thanks
Yes it does make sense to use the mixer and bucket, especially when making a lot. The sugar really tears up your hands after a bit. Thanks 🙏 for watching.
Glad to see you back Craig! Looking forward to new content.
Glad to be back! Thank you 🙏!
Great to see you are still alive and kicking!! Even though we cheated and were keeping up in FB but glad to see you still on YT!!
