I forgot about re-learning driving to accommodate Jeeps! I’ve had every sports car I ever set my sights on in my 20s and 30s, so that was one way of driving. But I always loved my big Jeeps, well I liked the big off road vehicles in general. So I got a jeep. I drove it how I felt safest, and every time I checked, I was doing the speed limit! Hey! There’s a plus, after all the speeding tickets I racked up as a kitten, racing up and down PCH on the daily. Everybody that’s cannonballing knows who all the other players are, San Diego to LA, pass the time. Many years of this. If you lived in So Ca in the 80’s you know you’re guilty! Now I pay attention to speed limit on on and off ramps, winding roads, and turning corners. Oh jeeze! And speed bumps! All in all I don’t see any of this as a bad thing, I no longer race every player on the road ✨🥰✨. I wave! The reason Musk slept on the factory floor was because he had to. He isn't that talented so he had to make up for it by micromanaging the operation. He loomed over day to day activities that lacked the intellect to understand. Tesla made it through subsidies. Rivian may not have that support but their product is superior. RJ learned from Musk. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Rivian is the aspirational brand now to the same people who were early Tesla adopters. Tesla is embarrassing to them now so they are switching teams. Rivian just has to nail down production and get rid of the bugs.

100,000 miles is wild

I have loved Model S since the first time I saw one back in 2014 in Chicago (I was young and didn't care about EVs at the time). I was gonna get Model 3 Highland, but ended up buying Model Y. Love it regardless. I got the LR RWD. It's not fast, nor as fun to drive as AWD, but coming from Toyota, it's fast enough and I love how quiet and no vibration in EVs are. The only things I hate about my Model Y are rattles and the suspension.

I have the 2024 Tesla Model 3 AWD, which is a fantastic car, but I’m considering replacing because of Elon Musk and his shenanigans. I test drove the BMW i4 and did not like at all. Felt clunky. The only EV I’ve driven that compares to the TM3 is the Hyundai ioniq 6, and it’s not as nice in any respect.

My son got a model 3 car fax dealer service 40,000 miles White on Dec 14,2024. Added features ASD and heated seats. The battery warranty 6 years or 100,000 miles.

Answer: every day of the week it can be a daily driver. Have driven a 2017 911 about 9,000/year. The back seats are functional. In a pinch you can take 2 rear passengers. Otherwise it has plenty of room for groceries or a road trip. I feel like owners should drive their Porsches. Nothing sadder than a 10 year old car with 20,000 miles. Lower your tire pressure to “comfort” setting. I noticed your rears are at 41 PSI- that can be harsh. The manual transmission makes the daily aspect harder. That’s why I switched to a PDK car. If you want fun below 4,000 then the twin turbo engines post 2016 spin up faster. Less noise but really responsive.

I'm happy to daily my 2007 Cayman S. No back seat, but plenty of room for most of my needs. Slightly less power than the 911, but a real delight to drive. I skip 5th and 6th gears when i get around heavier traffic. So much fun!

Buyer beware! Some auto C7's and some GM V8 pick-ups are plagued with chronic transmission shuddering, fixes are expensive and only temporary. I have an '18 C7, purchased brand new, weekend driver, never raced, no burnouts, and has that chronic transmission problem. GM is ignoring the problem. I highly recommend going with a Mustang GT or a V8 Dodge instead.
