Bought a ‘24 4Runner TRD ORP in September. Now, they’re basically gone. NA V6, 5-speed, hydraulic power steering, manual transfer case, analog gauges, no giant screen sticking up above the dash…simple and reliable. Hope to drive it for 20 years!
We purchased a 2024 4Runner pro in underground because it’s reliable simple and it’s the last great Toyota v6 ever built and will be sought after for years to come.
suggestion you didn't ask for but maybe dial back the enthusiasm a bit. Putting the energy meter on 10......and keeping it there....is hard to listen to for an extended time. Some fluctuation between normal discussion and the amped up vibe may work in your favor
I think this video is a little late to the game b/c there aren’t any new 5th generation 4Runners left to buy anywhere. Because they are (were) in such demand, previously owned is basically you’re only option now. Glad I was able to pick up a ‘24 TRD Pro 4Runner on 5/11/24 to hang onto. Good video though - they really are that reliable because they are simple comparatively speaking and this vehicle has been produced/refined for 15 years. The drive train has been around for awhile even before the 5th generation 4Runner. It was in the FJ Cruiser and the 4th generation 4Runner before that. Built to last and keep.
Same! I picked one a 2024 TRD ORP just before they ran out. I think I may have gotten the last TRD ORP because after mine, my dealership never received more. I bought mine in August 2024. After I got mine, my dealership got three more 4Runners. An SR5 and two Limited 2wd. After those went, I never saw anymore 4Runners.
Best all-around vehicle you can buy! Have had about 40 different vehicles and my 1996, 2000, and 2023 4Runners have been absolutely perfect, unlike my Land Rovers, Mercedes, BMW's, etc. etc. Always had a Toyota alongside all the other vehicles because I could always depend on the Toyota, the others not so much!
We own a 2014 FJ Cruiser and a 2021 4Runner and when I put them side by side and lift up the hood the engine compartments are identical. We've owned Toyota 4runners since 1992 and it seems like the break in period is around 200k miles. What I remember of our 1992 4Runner at 60mph the tachometer would read around 2800. With the 2021 @60mph it barely gets to 2,000 rpm. 4Runners additionally are the perfect travel and Costco vehicles. When you buy something big at Costco you can make it fit. And you can go crazy buying large items because there's lots of room. There's so many things to like about the 4Runner and after watching all of these videos on TH-cam I'm glad we stuck by them.
@@breeze787 Here's the really neat thing. The biggest item I ever bought via Costco* was our new 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium and it hauled itself home. : ) *Costco Auto buying program...what a great way to buy a new car.
If you decide to buy, good luck landing even an allocation for Toyotas last money printer lol. Just got my 4R & had to get in touch with 15 dealerships to get one new. Finally did it. Scored a TRD Pro in Terra. Absolutely difficult to get. It was easier getting a 24’ Civic type r
I’ll wait and buy a bulletproof 27 4R. The 25 may have a few issues, but not too many since it shares a lot with the Taco. The 24 4R is dated and kind of slow. I see very few differences compared to my 18. My 18 4R is barely faster than my 4 cylinder Taco.
We just picked up a '24 TRD ORP las month. Our daughter will be driving in 3 years and it will be hers. My lifted '07 is still in the driveway and is gonna find a new home soon.Had an '03 V8 Limited and sold my '88 a couple of years ago, original owner........yes I have slight regrets about the '88. Will definitely pick up a 6th gen, but not for a while.
Great vid, even if a little heavy on the hyperbole -- 2million miles, lol. I bought a second 4R when I realized they were going to a turbo 4cyl. Toyota has destroyed their reputation to design reliable new vehicles. Any Toyota without that bulletproof reliability is just an overpriced nissan or Kia. I prefer an old simple design built in Japan. Not toyotas fault, but it is literally illegal to ever build a truck this simple again. They have been scraping by, barely getting this thing to pass emissions for YEARS. I hope to own both of mine until I'm gone.
The only problem with the 4Runner, much like the Tacoma, is the seating position is awful, though can be much improved with seat jackers. Still love mine... but it has the seat jackers and a Pedal Monster lol
Had two 4Runners in a row. Both developed severe frame rot. I will not buy another 4Runner. Instead, I purchased a new 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. After almost 7 years and 138,000 miles, it has been 100% reliable and more importantly, the chassis looks great, no rust to worry about.
5th gen 4runner was designed and built by a generation of responsible men who care about quality and durability. Newly built cars are flimsy, disposable, and unreliable which is just a manifestation of the people who are making them and is the sign of the times.🥱

Best 4Runner video I’ve seen lol. Makes me feel proud to own my 2024 Limited 🤘🏾
Good luck finding one… Midwest here and no luck securing one
None here in the PNW.
I have one of these amazing trucks and it will unfortunately be my last Toyota

Traded in my ‘16 for a new ‘24 six months ago to reset the clock on one of the most reliable vehicles.

@@Geca5575Congratulations on getting that TRD ORP when you did - fantastic vehicle.
@@Geca5575 Same here. Bought a TRD ORP in September and they are now unobtainium, especially in that trim.

There’s around 400 new 4Runners left nationwide at this point. Good luck with urs 😎. Love my ORP Lunar Rock.
whats ballpark estimate for trd pro terra?
Just looking at securing a 2022 Trail model, wondering whyyyy there is no back windshield wiper? Struggling with the decision
There is a wiper, hidden under the the top overhang.
Bought a’24 sr5 premium in October. I wanted the v6, but I am disappointed in the body roll, but I will have to get used to it.
Its an actual SUV, im sure if it didn’t have a bodyroll it isnt a real SUV. Otherwise to complain about that you might just want a car.
@@Anomize23I think a BMW X would have been a good choice. But I know a BMW won’t give me the service of the 4Runner.

Great video. I only disagree with the claim you won't loose money with a 4R because modding is so tempting and easy that your wallet will feel it. 😅

Im 6'3 and dont mind it aside from the rear view mirror not bending the extra half inch or so I need to be perfect lol
No one should rev up the engine that high on a SUV. These Runners are designed for low revs and enjoying the journey is it’s moto.
I was at right place at the right time and scorched a Terra Pro.😅😅😅😅😅
My friend bought one, and said he would die with his. I wish i could get the last v6 model before emission laws take away v6 and v8
Buy the 4.0 while you can.. their newer turbo motors are questionable (other than the BMW powered supra, lol.. the irony)
2024 4runner is a unicorn ,the last great truck from toyota. it is all a downhill from here.
All new 2024 4runner is pretty much sold out everywhere!
5 Gen right?
I drive like 10,000-15,000 miles every year so I think it will last me over a decade.

I’ve been a Toyota fan, but currently they’ve been one of those things that make you go hmmm.
You didn’t like me starting 2010 you gonna miss me from end 2024😂
Scrambled to get the last '24 ORP in my area. Managed to get one in Underground so I have the only year you can get a Gen 5 in the color.

Now but the inventory is scant. Good news a used one are rather available.
These will shoot up in value!
The engine man talk to me about the engine I. Still can’t trust to that I force Max ,, keep it straight with me man
Not great crash test ratings
Avoid crashes.
Well luckily for you it wont go so fast for you to crash in.
He seems to think you can buy a 5th gen new in the low 40’s???? Hilarious.
Old slow crap seating position 💩 ride old technology
