Agreed! Here in the UK a decently specced M340i pre-lci with visibility (for the true DRLs), technology (HUD) and comfort packs can be had around the £36k mark if you want decently low mileage (
I have a 2016 M3401i. It's a great car - rides well and not many mechanical issues after 56,000 miles. I specifically bought the 340 over the M3 because of costs and gas mileage. I have not been disappointed.
The m340i is mega, had an m340i touring in a mega spec. However, after many mods, 6 months later got an m3 touring and … The cabin noise is far higher in the m3 which is nit great but the m340i is great for that. That’s it. The m3 is better in every other you can imagine
I'm thinking of doing just that, buy a M340i, because I prefer the B58 gas milage and don't need the extra 100 horsepower of the M3. 400 hp is more than enough for the canyon driving I do for fun. I would prefer the M3 handling, but thinking bigger stickier tires will help a lot with that.
I have an M340. Apart from the decent motor and transmission, there is no planet where this car is comaparable to an M3. The steering has zero feel, the suspension too hard (even in comfort mode), it handles okay and about what you would expect from the class. I like my car but it is a cruiser at best.

Too bad you can't get a manual M340i. What would you choose between this and Audi RS5?
