You should look up what apparent temperature is. If the steam sauna was in fact 160F with 100% humidity you would likely die of heat stroke within a relatively short amount of time.

I have no ETA so for now it's just a rumor, but I heard SaunaBox is working on adding red light. Not sure what it will be like, but given their track record, I'm sure it will be much better than the Nurecover.

It would technically work but you’d be better off with at least a 1/2hp chiller. Will save you in the long run.

A pump is 100% necessary. Most chillers don't have internal pumps unless you buy the much more expensive all-in-one chillers. And no, not enough pressure to move the water on it's own.

Yes, but that is the standard Ice Pod, not their Pro version..which I would recommend over the Plunge. I say that because the proprietary ports on the Plunge only work with their brand of chiller.

@@MorganHogman they're both nearly identical in both build quality and insulation. That said, I'd go the Ice Pod route. They offer way more accessories including an insulated cover sleeve, which significantly improves how long it will stay cold.

You can. It get super hot.

So last winter I had the original SaunaBox and it wasn’t as insulated. I don’t think the temps were that cold but it got to around 110-115f inside. Now this new version is better insulated and will see hotter temps, but either way, it might struggle. I’ve heard of some people throwing a wool blanket over the top and that really helps.

I'd be curious to see if someone else chimes in. I've personally never had a leak unless it was leaking at the hose connection. Make sure that's not the issue because sometimes the water will leak down the blue threads and into the chiller making it seem like it's leaking internally. Also, it's a minor pain, but perhaps consider taking the cover off and visually inspecting where it might be coming from.

⁠​⁠@@ben_chillthanks Ben_chill, I did have it leak once or twice out of where the hose connects to the blue barb and it would drip on to the top of the chiller. So I just tightened up the hose clamp and it was good. I’ll take the cover off this weekend and inspect where the leak is coming from.

A mat to prevent any extra wear and tear from rubbing on the concrete.

As a lot of people say, Florida is already a sauna. That said, I'd say start off using it at a lower level and work up because it does get really hot and intense inside. Thanks for watching!

That’s a tough one. The insulation definitely makes a difference for sure and I haven’t necessarily done a head to head comparison, but I do think it would hold temps better than an inflatable. That said, inflatables overall are much more rigid and might last a bit longer but they’re not necessarily insulated. Sure the 4” barrier helps keep the heat out, but doesn’t really keep it cold. I found that without the chiller running, it would easily warm up by 10-15 degrees over night during the summer. Unfortunately, I don’t think my answer is much help. They’re both pretty great.

Awesome! The chiller will take a bit longer to cool the water in the Long Pod, but yeah, it should get there. Just a tip, the first time around, save your chiller the extra stress and just throw in some bags of ice to get to your desired temp. Saves a lot of time, money, and unnecessary wear and tear.

@@ben_chill Noted! In the long pod bundle i purchased i have 6 reusable ice bricks I am going to throw those bad boys in to give the chiller a kickstart. It’s safe to assume that once the chiller gets to the desired temperature it maintains that temperature plus or minus a degree or two and I will no longer need the ice. I also have the jet that pushes the water so it’ll make it feel colder even if it’s not exactly at the desired temperature. I’m super excited about this. Can’t wait for the stuff to get here. Thank you for putting out the content and dropping knowledge on all of us. out of curiosity, how is your saunabox chiller still holding up?

@@jakegoodman1809 exactly. And so far so good. Still works great--enough that I parted with the two other chillers I had.

Sounds like you need to prime the pump. Take the return hose (the top one) and backfill it with water until it fills the entire system. Reconnect it and then turn on the pump. Also, make sure the valves are open.

SaunaBox is simply better in every way, including a heavier duty zipper. And Nurecover tends to embellish their descriptions. You could fit 2 people standing but it’s not super roomy. Same size as the SaunaBox btw.

@@ben_chill Width is the main question I'm trying to figure out right now. Tropic pro issaying 48" and SaunaBox is showing 35" for width on their sites. So you're saying the ONLY actual size difference is height? BTW thanks for the quick response.
