    Great review. You answered about all the questions I was needed.

      That’s good to hear! Any other questions, let me know. I’m always conducting miscellaneous tests.

    Hey @recovatech I used your ice pod diy build and I can vouch that the 1/3 hp chiller will work in hot climates. I live in south Texas and it doesn't get any hotter than here. I have the ice pod in my garage and it's able to maintain 50 degrees. I haven't tried getting it any lower, but at the current temps I haven't had any issues.

      That's good to hear. Compared to the DIY, I really think the only con (performance wise) to the Ice Pod setup is the pump. The one that comes with it seems a little underpowered. I think I'm going to attach another one and see if it improves the cooling capacity.

      @jonwhitehouse2201 yes, just watch recovatech's video on the diy ice pod chiller build. He shows you exactly what he uses

    Nice review. I run this setup with the active aqua 1/2 hp. Definitely cools quicker than the 1/3 hp for sure. I cover mine with a white sun shade and it helps with temps

    • @Recovatech
      @Recovatech  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I usually run a 1/2hp with my other setups but wanted to test their bundle. Honestly, I think their pump is holding it back. It only pumps 238 gallons per hour and I don’t think that’s enough. Tempted to swap in an 800gph pump and see how it compares.

      @@Recovatechwhich size pump would be better?

    • @Recovatech
      @Recovatech  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mikan1089 I still have to throw one on to see if it makes a difference cooling it down. I'm pretty certain it will. That said, I do like the Active Aqua pumps and even using their 400gph would likely be an improvement (about 2x the flow), but I've used their 800 and 1000gph with Ice Pods in the past with great results.

    Bought one and set it up. Unfortunately, it's not cooling. Currently working with the company to find solutions. I've done everything they've asked and I've researched. They even had me open it up to see if any wires or connections have come off. It looked fine. Still not chilling. I just may have received one that was faulty. Suggestions?

    • @Recovatech
      @Recovatech  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sounds like they covered all the things I would check. Sometimes the refrigerant just leaks out during shipping. I had a unit show up and wouldn't cool and that was the issue.

      @lugnut705 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Recovatech I think that is it too. I assume you would feel cool water coming through the top outlet in the tub, but it's been nothing. How long have you had yours and has it held up? I stayed away from buying the icepod tub and then a DIY chiller. Maybe that was a good thing and it would have been worse with issues if I bought the chiller separately.

    Does this chiller hook up to the 300 without needing to buy any adapters?

    • @Recovatech
      @Recovatech  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The IB300 has 3/4 connections and this one is all 1/2". That said, they do sell 3/4" to 1/2" adapters in any plumbing section. Would not be difficult nor expensive to find what you need.

    Any recommendations to water proof underneath this thing if I want to put it in my garage? Maybe just throw a tarp underneath it?

    • @Recovatech
      @Recovatech  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You could do that, but I could see the tarp becoming a bit of an eyesore after a while. What about something like a horse stall mat? They're like $40 from Tractor Supply and last forever. www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/utility-rubber-mat-black-4-ft-x-3-ft-x--frac12-in

      Those actually come with the Ice Pod bundle, but you can get something similar from Lowe's or Home Depot. They have 1/2-1" sizes.

    Does the chiller have a built-in pump to circulate the water?

    • @Recovatech
      @Recovatech  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes it does! The pump is directly attached to the sediment filter. It's surprisingly quiet too, which is a bonus.

    How often do you change the water ?

    • @Recovatech
      @Recovatech  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Kind of depends on how often you're using it. More frequent use = changing water more often. With the sanitizer and filter you should be good to go for about 3-4 weeks.
