Great question! I know I showed the connectors in the beginning, but as I was working through my particular install, I ended up not using them. The outlet box I purchased has the built in rubber grommets where the wire goes through and that was enough to not only hold the wires in place, but assure that they don't rub against the metal box. On the panel side, the metal punch hole was about an inch, inch and a half and the hole that I drilled out through the stud was only 1/2", so again, no possible way to add one and no possibility of rubbing either. I should have pointed that out better. But you're 100% correct pointing that out. If the wire has any chance of rubbing metal going through either the outlet box or the panel, the connector should definitely be used.
If you use a portable generator it is recommended to disabled the ground neutral bond in the generator , usually by adding a switch so you can use it both ways.
What kind of cord do you need to go from the generator to the outlet box? Great video by the way !
Hi Keith, you'll need a 30amp NEMA L14-30P/L14-30R. This is the one I use in the video amzn.to/496EX6U
Good video
Thanks for watching!
Where's your NM box connector on your 10/3?

Interlock is not allowed here in Canada.
@@unclev7075 really? That's interesting because it's a huge safety concern NOT having one installed.
@ben_chill not allowed to install using the interlock method by canadian code. Must use a generator panel or add a secondary panel.
@@ben_chill What is a "NM box connector?"
Generator bonded or floating?
