    Exactly what I was looking for. Appreciate the thoughtful and friendly review!
    Is there another brand of chiller that is just as powerful that you’d recommend that is possibly a better price? Just out of curiosity.

      That 1/2HP chiller from Warrior Willpower is $850 and you can get $200 off with promo code RT200. That’s hands down the cheapest you’ll find for a 1/2Hp setup with pump and filter (as far as I know). Most others sell them for about $1200 including Ice Pod.

    Do you think the Long Pod with additional insulation cover will out perform the 4" thick inflatable tubs? Do you think the Long Pod is more durable than than the inflatable tubs? Trying to decide between the Vital+ Tub, inflatable, vs the Long Pod with additional insulation kit. Thx

    • @ben_chill
      @ben_chill  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That’s a tough one. The insulation definitely makes a difference for sure and I haven’t necessarily done a head to head comparison, but I do think it would hold temps better than an inflatable. That said, inflatables overall are much more rigid and might last a bit longer but they’re not necessarily insulated. Sure the 4” barrier helps keep the heat out, but doesn’t really keep it cold. I found that without the chiller running, it would easily warm up by 10-15 degrees over night during the summer.
      Unfortunately, I don’t think my answer is much help. They’re both pretty great.

    Do you recommend sitting it on direct garage floor or place it on a mat?

    • @ben_chill
      @ben_chill  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      A mat to prevent any extra wear and tear from rubbing on the concrete.

    7:40 Was wondering what kind of filter you have attached to that long ice pod set up. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

      So that's just a basic sediment filter with barbs on both ends. It's actually the filter that came with the chiller you see there. That particular chiller is the 1/2HP chiller from Warrior Willpower and not from Pod Company. That said, you could DIY your own inline filter by getting something like this: amzn.to/4dFoRSP and then attaching a barb to each side like this: www.lowes.com/pd/Apollo-3-4-in-x-1-2-in-Polypropylene-Icreasing-Male-Adapter/5012921737
      That particular barb would assume you're using 3/4" hoses.

    Can you use another brand chiller, like the Sauna Box chiller, with this Long Pod?

      @@ben_chill I have the long pod, but looking at chiller options. What are you thoughts comparing the Ice pod chiller to the Sauna box chiller? is the main difference the Ozone with the SB chiller? I would probably want to get a 1/2 HP. The ice pod pro chiller is $1500 and the Sauna box is $1300, so the savings is better with SB. Thanks!

      @@jimg1974 100% the SaunaBox chiller. The Ozone actually makes a huge difference. Plus it does have built in WiFi so you can remotely turn it on or set it up on a schedule.

    I have a few questions for you Ben.
    Does the 1 -1/2 hp pump run constantly in a cooler environment or is it an auto climate control machine?

    • @ben_chill
      @ben_chill  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Chillers come on based on the temp of the water. If you set it to 50, for example, it will only come on when the temp raises a couple degrees above that.

    if i'm setting up this long pod in my apartment, and it never gets hotter than like 72 degrees in here, do you still think the 1/3rd hp chiller won't be enough?

    • @ben_chill
      @ben_chill  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It will definitely work, it just might take a bit longer to get there. Keep in mind that the chiller exhausts a significant amount of heat, so plan for that.

    • @DanDanDan-c2w
      @DanDanDan-c2w 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ben_chill also do you have any experience with chillers that have heat plates vs ones that use a difference mechanism? i read today that the ones with heat plates are apparently no good because the plates can get clogged up with the stuff building up in the water. the customer service for pod company said their chillers do not use heat plates

    • @ben_chill

      I don't think so because the connections on the Long Pod are the same as the Ice Pod and therefore the DIY wouldn't be much different. I would recommend going with a 1/2HP chiller since it holds a lot more water. If you go the DIY route and need help, let me know.
