And it’s totally ok to have a favourite singer. - The one thing that is for sure, without any of the two singers that preceded Floor - there would have been no Nightwish for Floor to inherit. I am an unabashed fan of Floor - but also a fan of the band - and there is no “band” without Annette or Tarja. The common answer to the question of who has the best voice in Nightwish is Marko! 😉

"Hauntingly beautiful" is a perfect term for Tarja. But people have been describing her that way for over 2 decades, so you may not be able to trademark that one, ha ha. Some people like to trash her but there's no understandable reason why. I've listened to many other bands with female "opera"ish singers. Most are in the power metal genre, which generally isn't for me, but I've yet to hear another singer with her full strong voice, with her range and tone. She is unique, and in my view, still the standard.

I’m sure the Army has informed you, but this concert is storied in NW lore. Directly after the last song, the band fired Tarja. It was a highly controversial decision that had serious repercussions for the future of the band. But anyways, another great reaction! Keep em coming! If you want more from this concert, I’d go with Slaying the Dreamer, The Siren, or Phantom of the Opera. All 3 are better than this song in my opinion. Nice work, coaches!

one of their heavier and more chaotic songs that doesn't get the love it deserves is "Eeyore" from the self titled album... would make for an interesting reaction just from the music alone i feel.

Thank you for this reaction. FISHMASTER! (sorry😅, you'll understand eventually) Tarja's voice is phenomenal! (All the singers of Nightwish are amazing.) And Tuomas, he is a genius! The tone of Tarja's voice is really unique, and it makes her voice very recognisable. It's dark yet very clear. After Nightwish, she created her own solo career. During the last 19 years of her solo career, she has been developing her voice even more. Naturally, through age, Tarja's voice has matured. She has a deeper chest voice nowadays that she uses quite frequently. At some point, please check out her duet song with Marko (the ex basist of Nightwish) that they released a few months ago. It's called Left on Mars. It was written by Marko for his wife. But Marko said that it became a song that reunited two old friends.

Tarja's voice is a bit ropey at times here compared to usual. Is this the End of An Era gig? If so, she had just had the flu before the concert and hadn't quite recovered. Her voice didn't come fully good until about halfway through that concert. Drummer Jukka had the same problem at the time, suffering from headaches.

For a moment I was taken aback by this video. Tarja wasn't using a matching microphone! Then they zoomed out and I saw the gold lace on her dress and all was right with the world 😁

You have to watch End of an Era -version of "Slaying the Dreamer" and you will be amazed! That Nightwish/Tarja last show is incredible! You can feel that grazy atmosphere there!

My preference is for Floor. I love her, but each singer brings their own special sound to Nightwish and the group that we listen to today would not be the same without all three singers. I would also add that each singer has their own songs that they excel on and are the best versions of those songs.🤘🎸

Wishmaster... the song with the most famously misheard lyrics of all time. "Hamster! A dentist! Hard porn, Steven Seagull! Warrior! This rifle! In me, the Fishmaster!" ---often seen being sung karaoke by a kittycat holding a microphone. An alternate variation that tried to stick a little bit more with the fur baby theme went, "Hamster! A dentist! Heartworm, Steven Seagull! Furrier! the Cyborg! In me, the Fishmaster!"

The song is from the album of the same name from 2000. It was part of the main program up to and including the first tour with Anette. Since then it has largely disappeared from the setlist. It is still the 4th most played song. In the foreseeable future it will be overtaken by Ghost Love Score.

One thing that makes Nightwish catalog so speciel is actually the fact thet did have 3 lead singers, as a long time NW fan, i think its a gift, they all did a good job imo, and Toumas is the master of craft from the material he got, he really is.. as the bassist, and 2nd singer Marko left band to recently, Nightwish kind of got into the 4th era of the band..
