Now you see why Blinks said that this was BP declaring that they were done with catering to any supposed restrictions. The statements you made were exactly why a song like this gets made. Young people, in particular, need to hear this type of message from people they might look up to. I've said before that it's important for artists that have a platform to use it for good, and, when I heard this, I couldn't have been more proud of Blackpink. The majority of these Idols are adults, and it's ridiculous that they're expected to act like children.
I really appreciated what you said, and it shows that you're true educators, because you understand more than what's in the textbooks. It made me smile to hear Mrs. Coach talk about how she could be a real ____ if someone pushed her, but it wasn't surprising, since she couldn't be a shrinking violet and live with a personality like Coach for so long. ;)

Rosé was accused in 2023 of using illicit substances in Korea due to a photo that was leaked in which she appeared at a table with some people, and this became a bubble of hate against her, but soon after it was proven that everything was not correct. it was just a misunderstanding. Soon after this happened, BlackPink participated in Coachella in 2023, Rosé sang this song clearly for everyone who thought it was at the time.

I just wanna add this. During their Born Pink world tour last year Rosé was being accused of Dr*g. Haters were insane that time. And at Coachella I believe it was first week when they were about to sing "Tally" Rosé literally said "our next song is some kinda message, so if you know please sing along with us". Through out their whole career these girls had to face so much without even doing anything.
Such a sad commentary on people that they spend so much time and energy to tear others down.

Rosé went to school in Australia. I’ve said those words since 12 maybe. 10 year olds probably say it now. She would have heard them many times a day. Their is a few clips of her saying f (with her Aussie accent) without even thinking about it. So she can be classy but still has the Aussie in her.
Loved Mrs. Coach's comments around 4:00 about them being ripped to shreds for every mistake they make and we shouldn't judge-- and comments at the end backing them up also!! You both got very philosophical/deep on this one and I loved it!

Rosé is sweet, when the news of the accusations came out I could only think about how she and the girls were feeling, Rosé certainly went through a lot of difficulties in her life, but being accused of something that she would clearly never do must have been devastating for her In Korea, drugs and idols are two things that can't mix, all this lying got to the point where people threatened her in every possible way, she didn't deserve that.
Fantastic comments on this declaration of FU to those teeny tiny sad little personalities who spend their days criticizing others. The wisdom of Coach and Mrs. Coach, we are here for it. Being someone who had a LOT of anxiety until I was in my late 20's and has evolved past it ( for the most part lol), I agree, live your life your way. The best compliment I ever got was a few years ago from a younger co-worker. She said, "you really don't give a f*ck what people think about you, do you". That was music to my ears lol. The only person we HAVE to impress is ourselves.

Coach and Mrs Coach, by your comments and your general respect for the view points of others, showing what quality people you both are. While it is a shame that they don't have more music, and there is the promise that there might be more music this year, a documentary from YG could explain why the musical production process takes so long. YG released a documentary about the making of BabyMonster's " Sheesh" ( perhaps you will check it out ( 17 minutes long)) which demonstrates their iterative process in music production. There are so many versions of the song, "sheesh", before final release. They really do value quality over quantity.

The BP girls had FUN in their Carpool Karaoke video so I don't think BP or even YG would block reactions to it. Well, MAYBE YG but that does not really seem to be on brand for them, they REALLY WANT their name out there in a positive light because YG wants to stay with the Western entertainment market as much as with the Eastern market. But I would not put it past CBS at all to block those reactions.
I have loved Blackpink since they debuted and I love watching you guys react to them. I've been following since the very first song. I would love to see you react to Blackpink House, it's very cute. Also, the entire Coachella set as well!

I 100% agree with your point to there being no "dirty" or "bad" words. What can be bad about them is the intent behind the usage of the word.
As a parent myself i made 1 demand of my son when it comes to language. I don't care how you talk to your friends, but when speaking to adults, speak respectfully.
We did much the same. We agree, it's intent, and "Clean" words can be very damaging and cause a world of hurt to others, while supposedly "dirty" words can really help get a point across and even convey a good message at times. The combination of letters isn't bad, it's the way they are used.

We all wish there was more to their catalog, but part of the reason is that they made two nearly year-long world tours over their time together.
That makes sense...and it's good they got out to see so many of their fans.
That first long spell of time without content, the girls were literally sitting around twiddling their thumbs. They WANTED to work and to be doing something. Jennie even apologized for the lack of material over a Live she did. YG was not telling the girls anything, they literally did not know when they would have a comeback. YG was SO WEIRD.

I just know this was a period of time really early in BP's career. I THINK it was after the release of the album Square Two (their first comeback album, Nov 2016) but before As If It's Your Last (June 2017). It has been a while obviously so I am not exactly sure about the timing, I could easily be wrong.

Well, I'm an old goat and for quite awhile I've been of the opinion that young adults almost feel compelled to declare their adulthood by using curse words to emphasize that they are free from being considered teens/minors. It's almost like flashing a merit badge that announces the passage of a life segment telling society that they can no longer say "you shouldn't use those words or talk about those topics". The message of TALLY is a common one for young adults, only magnified when you're a celebrity. I enjoyed your reactions and comments, and the song as well.
I'm not sure if you have ever reacted to Blackpinks concert performances of 16 SHOTS! Although a short dance cover (about one minute 20/30 seconds) it's very explosive. There's a camera view of the group and then a fan-cam for each members performance, so collectively it's about 6 minutes. If you decide to react to it save Rose' fan-cam for last...shocking 90 second performance👀👀

Probably my favorite song on the album. Not the most hype song, not the fastest or the most fun one, but dang they came out strong with the message! And you guys are spot on about the fact that all of us being individuals is important, I talk to my students about this a lot. Being yourself is important, what people think just doesn't matter. One can imagine how tough that can be to deal with sometimes as a public figure, especially in Korea where traditions and standards are very important to a lot of people.
