    Really tempted to buy this but would like a review of it in +30 temps. I bought an Alpinestars halo in the spring based on reviews. Very adaptable jacket but heavy and pretty uncomfortable with neck chafing and elbow chafing from the armour. Rode in 35 degrees temp and it wasn't any better than my ancient rst adventure jacket. Very stiff and awkward as well. Really need something super cool in the heat that will also accommodate my kies heated jacket in the winter. Maybe iam asking too much?

    • @GreenString
      @GreenString 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think the hottest I have ridden in this is around 20+ degrees so far. I wish I had it earlier in the year when I was in Morocco! I cannot imagine that there is much better in terms of ventilation and protection, that said I haven't put it through any kind of extreme heat test yet but I have ridden with the main zip down and that coupled with the mesh fabric throws huge amounts of air at you. In terms of short term durability, Im still using it virtually everyday. I even rode to work in it this evening (yes I'm actually typing this at work) and I'm impressed. It is very, very comfortable. I doubt I will ever go back to a traditional motorcycle over jacket. As promised I will do a long term review of this jacket in around 12 months time. Sorry I cannot offer any experience of the jacket in hotter climates (yet). Good luck with your ongoing search. Stay safe & keep riding.

      Thanks Rolf. It took a long time to edit. Let’s face a group of riders going from A to B is not exactly interesting to watch, but is fun to ride. Next time I go on a ride out I won’t be filming, it’s just too tedious. Plans are now underway for next year with dates and location (Finland) nearly set in stone. Until then I’m slogging it through winter on the T7 on my daily commute. One more video to edit and I may also revisit the footage from Morocco and make a multi part series, so much stuff didn’t make it into the movie and I think I’d like to tell the full story. Other than that it’s business as usual. Stay safe my friend and I’m still waiting for a video from your channel.👍🏼

    Great footage. I, too, would prefer to ride in a smaller group... however, I'm going on a trip to the Picos and Pyrenees next year. The tour guide explained that he operates a last man marker system: 2nd man on the road marks any junction/change of direction, and then falls in front of the last rider. Very reliant on riders doing their turn, but should work for group rides. P.S. if I get lost in Spain, I'll be heading to the Final RV for fish and chips. Well done guys 😉

    • @GreenString
      @GreenString 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      To be honest, it was a long day and it only takes one person to cock it up, which is exactly what happened. I should have remained as back marker to sweep anybody up but decided to move forward to film the front riders. These two turn of events caused the problem, which, let’s face it, isn’t really a big deal. We all rode the route, it was a fantastic day and everyone was fed. Anyway, I’m a bit jealous of your tour next year. It’s simply stunning there. Solo or in a group it’s going to be amazing. We’re currently in the planning stage but we’re probably heading north next year. Bring on the 2025 riding season !!

    I've said it before, and I'll say it again, every time I watch one of your videos it makes me want to move to Europe. As you well know I live in Detroit Michigan USA, and if I want to hit some decent twisty roads I must drive at least 7 hours North. Detroit is just a flat place. Now as far as riding with the group, I have been riding motorcycles over 30 years, and no BS I have only ridden one time in a real what I would call group ride of about 20 people. It's not like I didn't like the group ride, I just love, prefer to ride solo. As usual my friend and another awesome video, and as always best wishes to you and your family stay safe my brother.

    • @GreenString
      @GreenString 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well it’s always great to hear from you my friend. It’s weird because I would love to ride in America but when I hear a simple fact like that ( riding seven hours to hit the twisty roads ) it brings it home the sheer scale of your country. To me that’s amazing. If I rode that long in any direction I’m definitely crossing a border, maybe two! I guess the grass is always greener? Anyway, as we draw closer to the holiday season may I take this opportunity to wish you all the best, and keep those videos coming. Stay safe bro. 👍🏻

    Great vid, but the flaws are that you all decided to keep overtaking each other and not staying in position, no dedicated back marker from what I heard, and you clearly didn’t use the drop off system which when riding in a large group works very well and no matter me gets left behind.

    • @GreenString
      @GreenString 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great points. All the overtaking was done by 3 bikes filming (including me). This was to get as much footage of the riders as possible. Also I was the dedicated back marker but abandoned my post to film the front riders. Ultimately it was my fault the pack split. But hey, it was a great days riding. Thanks for the comment. On my second watch already! Love to listen to your narration. :) also German based and wish to have more time for going on longer trips. What was the problem with the Honda brakes, no brake fluid? (you said something with transmission, was it dct related or what?)

    • @GreenString
      @GreenString 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, we’ll definitely his rear brake pads were worn out. The dealer swapped them out. Also the Transmission (Gearbox oil, DCT only bikes) was empty. I don’t think this has any effect on his braking ability. He got the bike serviced 1 week prior to departure at a Honda dealer, so less than impressive. While we are on the subject my Yamaha dealer is pretty useless. They told me the T7 ran tubeless tyres.! Anyway I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. It makes way more sense flying in and hiring a bike. We just always seem to have to ride our bikes to every destination wasting time and money. That said, we have always been a bit obsessive with the whole self sufficiency thing. Thanks for the comment👍🏻

      Hahaha, yeah I suppose it sums up the more honest side of motorcycle touring , it’s not all sunsets and warm weather (although a lot of social media will portray that image). I think that’s why it resonates with some bikers, they’ve been there and done it. I get the impression the vast majority of my viewers are seasoned bikers. It’s a privilege to have them as an audience. 🫡

    Next time take smaller bikes . Is more convenient for such long trips.

    • @GreenString
      @GreenString 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree, smaller bikes are way better for off road sections but to complete this trip we did 5000km on roads, that would have been very tedious on a low capacity bike. It’s always a compromise. Time off work, distance to travel, etc,etc. At the moment I’m very happy with my T7. For me it’s the perfect bike. I know Jason (The Honda Rider) will probably be moving to a smaller mid sized engine in the future. Thank you for taking the time to comment. It’s appreciated 👍🏼

    Thanks for sharing this epic trip. Well done. What size did you have on the Kriega bags mounted on the crash bars? Were you satisfied with the Scorpion STR?

    • @GreenString
      @GreenString 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, I had a couple of 6 ltr Kriegas mounted to the front for my quick access kit. The STRs were fine for this trip. I’ve had a few comments saying I should have had more off road bias tyres fitted but generally I disagree. In reality we probably did more than 4000 km on tarmac, so for the very few sections we encountered that were wet, well sure knobblier tyres would have been better, but I’ll take that compromise. The majority of the off road was hard packed earth and gravel and the STRs ( in my opinion) are fine. If you want to see a detailed load out of my Kriega set up check this out: th-cam.com/video/vI85mxvaaJU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wYDSdE819s6snxh8 It’s similar to my Morocco set but a bit more bulky due to climate. Thanks for taking the time to comment, it’s appreciated. Stay safe & keep riding 👍🏼

    • @GreenString

      Hi, All the routes we did were from this excellent book: sahara-overland.com/ I’ve just had a look at the web page, there is also a link to a Trans Morocco Trail, which looks a bit like the TET (free GPX Download) that looks really interesting. I hope this helps.👍🏼
