It was a really interesting adventure. I was surprised how comfortable I felt travelling alone. Thanks for taking the time to comment, it’s really appreciated. If your bored check out part two.👍🏻
Im really glad you enjoyed it, if your ever bored I recommend checking out our tours to Norway or Sweden. Thanks for taking the time to comment, it’s much appreciated. Stay safe and keep riding 👍🏻
Fantastic Steve , good to see you on your travels again and look forward to number 2 . All the best mate and still rocking the Green String sticker on my GSA screen 👍👌🤘
You have probably already noticed that female bikers are drawn towards you. It’s perfectly normal, don’t worry. That’s the power of having a Green String sticker on your bike 😁😂 Take care my friend.
Great first video Steve , daunting thing a solo multi country trip , but as you say a couple of days and you get into your groove, at some point would you do a full what I took kit video if possible, very interested in how you got the weight down so much from you first started these trips , thanks again for taking us along for on the journey, ride safe 👌👍
Cheers mate. I was surprisingly easier than I thought to go it alone. Even though in reality all I’m doing is riding my bike from point A to point B, I was constantly mulling over in my mind where I would stay, when to fill up or push on, provisions…etc etc and I guess video documenting it takes up quite a bit of time, so at no point did I feel exposed or lonely. Actually that’s a lie. There was one night in Sweden (in the next video) where I camped in the woods and I was crapping myself🤣 I was convinced somebody was stood outside my tent (Texas Chain Saw Massacre). When the morning came I was happy to push on! The biggest hindrance was riding off road. I was conscious that if I messed up I was in some pretty remote places (next video). Still I would do it again and it’s all about giving it a go at the end of the day.
It was probably Jason 😂he was secretly following you , we can defo over think things , just got to get on and do it mate and above all enjoy it all even the hard bits , take care mate 👌👍
Absolutely epic Steve what great adventure I can imagine Jason will be gutted missing this solo trip look forward to part 2 thanks for sharing as always 👌 Steven
Thanks Steven. I always appreciate you taking the time comment. I haven't had a response from Jase yet, I'm not sure he's watched it yet. Even if he was jealous, he would never admit it. 😂

Cheers Neil, cracking on with part deux today hopefully. Strange thing is I cannot exactly remember what happened! So trawling through the footage is going to be interesting. 👍🏻
Im embarrassed to say I’m not sure exactly where I crossed but your right, there cannot be that many border crossings into Latvia with a river, bridge and church. Well spotted! Stay safe and thanks for the comment 👍🏻
Haha, coming off thst farmers field, were you humming " Popey the sailor man" jingle out of nervousness for that road construction ? Haha Excellent first adv ride out! Moving onto Esp 2, cheers from Texas.
Hi Mate, so glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah I’m not sure why I was humming that, I think I was losing touch with reality! 🤣. If your bored over Christmas check out some of our other ‘Tour’ videos. I recommend the Norway series. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, it’s appreciated. Stay safe, keep riding and have a Merry Christmas (even though I doubt you will see snow in Texas) 👍🏼🇺🇸🇬🇧
@GreenString no real snow in Texas, you can ride all year pretty much. Texans aren't worried about hurricanes, tornados or +100 degree heat, but you bring the ice and freezing wing and we burn anything we have to keep BBQ'n or never pop outside😁
Cheers mate and thanks for taking the time to comment. It is always great to get some feedback on videos as it is sometimes difficult to decide what and what not to show in the end product. I’ll be cracking on with part 2 shortly. Thanks for the support. Stay safe and keep riding.👍🏼🇺🇸🇬🇧
@@GreenString in regards to the actual filming, the soundtrack was great, the commentary was great and informative, and it wasn’t bladdering to fill the sound of silence. The 360 views you show of campsites was great, as its obviously a beautiful area. Essentially it’s a virtual tour of amazing spots I probably won’t see. You’ve hit the spot with a formula of depicting a great adventure! I too have a T7, and having grown up in Cyprus, and Egypt, with many English friends, I enjoy the British humor and adventures.
@philhagoes9339 That’s good to hear. I know the British “humour” is not to everyone’s taste. Im loving my T7. It is way more capable than I thought and it exceeded my expectations especially coming from a big mobile sofa like a GS. I’m still very conscious about my off road limitations when riding alone and that drove a-lot of my decision making in the next video as I was fairly remote in Finland. I guess it’s always a balance of risk versus reward.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Indeed 15 kg is my “Goldilocks” weight and that is now always my target. Alas I always seem to run a few kilograms over this. I guess practice makes perfect. I hope you enjoy the channels back catalogue. Stay safe and keep riding 👍🏼
I’m Jealous. We went all the way to the Northkapp a couple of years ago but just didn’t have the time to explore what is arguably the best part of Norway. Still it gives me an excuse to come back. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Stay safe and keep riding.👍🏼
@@GreenString You should definitely do this! I met a lot of people who were going to Nordkap, but at the arctic circle I decided to go to Lofoten instead and then back to Oslo through the Fjords. Was definitely worth it! Amazing nature. I think I will be returning one time. Cheers!
Well done old chap. Nice little trip. Why don't you leave yourself a bit more time each day so that you can have a look around and use a few more gravel tracks, you look old enough to be retired! 😬😁 Maybe take less stuff with you. All the best from Latvia.
I haven’t aged well, I’m only 23🤣!Yeah I know what you mean but on a trip like this you either sacrifice distance to focus on one particular place or skip through countries . I usually do the latter. Time is always against me. This naturally means I rarely get the chance to properly explore and discover a country but I do get a flavour of that country and I was mighty impressed with Latvia. I now know I must return which is good. It’s all about ticking off the old bucket list so yes, Latvia I will be back…probably when I retire. Stay safe my friend. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Keep riding 🇱🇻 🇬🇧
Fantastic vid. as usual Steve, can't wait to go on my very own adventures, might even try to record it as well but I'm pretty sure I ain't gonna match the quality of your content. Stay safe out there, hope you are having a good time and the rain isn't as bad 🙏🏻
Cheers mate. You know what they say, don’t wait for opportunities, make opportunities! Get out there. As for videoing and documenting your journey, well definitely do it. That’s how I started. I just wanted to look back on my travels because it’s easy to forget over time. Don’t worry about presentation, make the video for you, family and friends to share.
Great episode Steve and your production / editing has come on massively over recent series. This tour looks absolutely epic and following it for future ideas. Did you use ioverlander for wild camp sites? They looked so clean and tidy ....not sure we would sadly find the same here in the UK. Ride safe mate ✌️ 🇬🇧
Hi Darren, my go to app for general wild camping and indeed normal campsites is iOverlander. I do have a couple of other apps but it depends really where I’m going. A lot of the time if wild camping is permitted (like Scandinavia) they usually have an official app that lists every hut, by type, with photos and it flawlessly links to google maps. If I recall Denmark has a particularly good app and it’s saved our bacon a couple of times in hideous weather. Anyway enough waffling on. Cheers for the comment. I’m gonna start editing pt 2 tomorrow (once I’ve fitted heated grips to the Tenere, I think I nearly got frostbite yesterday 😨) if I remember correctly the trip gets a little bit more fruity in Finland. 👍🏼
Hahaha, I keep telling him that! He's just slowly me down! On a serious note, thanks Simon for the support. I'd better get cracking on with editing part two. Stay say my freind and keep riding 👍🏻
😂, I'm in the early planning phase of a big trip next year. We're probably going to need a couple of weeks, but I need to know exactly how long it's going to take. There must be some kind of mathematical equation that's works out blue tooth faffery. 😁👍🏻
My go to app is iOverlander. It’s really useful and got me out of a few sticky situations. The only problem is it is very popular. You can be riding to a secluded wild campsite only to find a few people have beaten you to it. Naturally that depends on where you are, what time of year and some are difficult to get to unless you on 2 wheels. My tip is get there early. Check it out in any App Store, it’s completely free.
Thanks for posting this, I’ve enjoyed watching it. I like the pace of your journey.
