- A full length version of our latest expedition to Morocco. We tackle multiple on & off-road challenges and put our limited skills to the test with our big bikes. As always, in an attempt to save as much money as possible, we are as self sufficient as we can be. Enjoy!
Without doubt the best video of 2024 on TH-cam. 😎👏👏👏
Half way through editing this my hard drive self destructed (my fault) I lost about a months work…I came so close to binning it. Thanks for those kind words, it means a lot. I’m probably going to put out a series on this tour with all the arguments, banter & failures that didn’t make the cut, so business as usual. Stay safe buddy, glad you enjoyed it and I’m pinning your comment👍🏻
I watched the whole 34 minutes and 22 seconds of this amazing adventure, congrats.
The average view duration for this video, so far, is 10 mins…So I salute you for sticking all the way to the end. It helps this small channel out no end. 🙏Thank you 👍🏻
@@GreenString 12k on my 2023 Africa Twin Adv, too heavy, too much electronics. Seriously thinking trading it for the t7, big adventure still in my mind…
@silveriojohan Yeah I get what you mean. I have zero regrets going from a GS to a T7. I’ve beaten my T7 to death this year, 20,000 km, 10 countries and I love it more and more. Most of all though every time I swing my leg over it I feel like a Dakar hero😂 even though I’m terrible at off road riding! I guess it what makes you happy that matters most👍🏻 let me know how you get on with your bike choices in the future.
Absolutely awesome video. A joy to watch and keeping it real as always 🏍️🏍️
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it’s much appreciated 👍🏻
Bloody hell... It looks fantastic..
Thank you for your feedback, it’s really appreciated and I’m glad you enjoyed the video…more to come in the future.
What an amazing adventure. Great scenery and awesome footage. I don my cap to you both 👊
Cheers mate, really glad you enjoyed it and your comment is appreciated. Stay safe, keep riding 👍🏻

Really enjoyable upload. Hope the channel grows for you 🙏
Thank you very much for those kind words and I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Stay safe.👍🏼
Awesome video, fair played to you
Thanks mate, I really appreciate the feedback and comment. Stay safe and keep riding👍🏼
What a brilliant adventure 🤩 your motorcycle gang of 2 is going wild this time 😁
Loved the video 💚 DlzG Diana
Haha, as far as motorcycle gangs go we are pretty rubbish😂 I hope your still loving your Africa Twin. Stay safe guys👍🏻
@@GreenStringabsolutely love me new bike. She is now legally imported and getting ready for the trip to the ABR.
See what all the fuss is about. 😁
As always guys great video and looks an epic adventure. I know you like exploring off road on the big bikes and all credit to you both.. my gsa is definitely a tarmac only bike 😂. People dont release how hard off road riding can be, i tried it last year for the first time (after 30yrs riding) and struggled even on a lightweight CRF!! Ride safe 👍🇬🇧
Yeah I agree. Riding those bikes on the Trans Euro Trail in Spain is borderline stupid (with our skill level). I did a bit of research before we went on the TET facebook page and was told that the section we did was easy on any bike, and it was in most cases but still you can very quickly get out of your comfort zone. Jason did exceptionally well on the big Honda, the T7 is definitely an easier beast off road than my old GS…alas not easier on my backside on the long motorway sections😂 As always thanks for taking the time to comment, stay safe and keep riding👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely fantastic video guys. Worth the wait and look forward to more adventures
Cheers Mark👍🏼
I'm really impressed. This definitely was an adventure. A tough journey to get to Morocco... a long highway journey... but an incredible rewarding adventure. Great video editing.
Tough journey, gents. I really enjoyed watching. I'm so curious about the weather... In the vid you bought some souvenirs from the local man. What is the temperature in such a spot? Perhaps not that warm, but what about the 40km desert stretch? That seemed HOT?
Typical desert temperatures for that time of year. I think the hottest it got was 34 degrees and you’ll notice in the evenings we were in shorts but had warm jackets on, not sure on temperature then but chilly. You could equally have an amazing road trip around Morocco we spent only €200 in Morocco for 7 days riding. Ferries are super cheap but a bit crap…. Oh and temperature on top of the fortress must have been high twenties but very strong winds ( my tripod was blowing over)
BRILL! Well done chaps...
Cheers Simon, we appreciate the kind words… more to come in this series in the future, but this time including all the bits I left out! Stay safe and keep riding.
What a ride and here is some advice, if you don’t drop the bike that often, you need not go through all the struggle of picking it up again 😉 i think for me simply riding on the normal roads would have been adventurous enough. Off road is just too dangerous. A simple crash can end all the fun within seconds. I don’t know how you were insured in Africa. When i was in Gibraltar i was also thinking about going to Africa but the lack of insurance and being a solo rider seemed too risky. Anyhow, it looked as if you enjoyed it and made it back home safely, to Goettingen? That german accent sure did sound strange to me, hmm 🤔
Hi, thanks for taking the time to comment. It really is appreciated and I hope you enjoyed the video. I do agree with your comment. If you take a bike off road, regardless how good a rider you are, you will fall off. It is all a case of risk versus reward. Over the past 5 or 6 years me and my mate have slowly been drawn to riding more and more off road. We have found it takes motorcycling in a different direction. New skills have to be learnt and the views and destinations can be more rewarding. We do quite a bit of research and attempt to find the routes that are rideable for our skill set. All of our crashes off road are very low speed and providing you keep clear of the bike on the way down it’s not a problem. I’ve practiced picking up my bike alone but when riding together it’s also not a problem. A lot of that terrain we rode I would not attempt on my own, way too risky. Riding on the road brings a different risk ( in my opinion) I’m less likely to crash but when I do it will be inevitably be at higher speeds. Morocco is spectacular on or off road. Will we go again? Unlikely. There are too many other destinations we want to explore. Ironically our biggest risk ( not in the video ) was the ride back to Gütersloh. We decided to ride the 1200 km in one, through the night…now that was dangerous and stupid. I’m hoping to release a few videos in the future showing our Morocco journey in more detail, a sort of „behind the scenes“ series. What do you think? Anyway, stay safe and keep riding👍🏼👍🏼
@@GreenString Oh yes, those dreadful last parts of a tour. I can relate to what you are saying. I rode back from Jerez de la Frontera in one go - up into the Pyrenees, The day after over the Pyrenees back into Wuerzburg. And on another occasion I drove from Arcachon (France) via La Rochelle all the way to Wuerzburg in one go on my trusty AfricaTwin XL600r from 1989. Other than running out of fuel, she gave me no problems whatsoever. Unfortunately I sold her along with my Goldwing and got a brand new NT1100 which I decided to crash four weeks ago. Now I am waiting for my brand new ATAS. You guys stay safe. I enjoyed your video!
Did I hear that correctly "transmission oil level is low"
Yeah, the DCT oil level wasn’t actually low it was empty. Although this was not linked to the braking issue it was one of a couple of fluid levels that were not checked on his service ( by a Honda dealer) prior to departing.
@@GreenString What an oversight for the Honda service shop.
@@GreenStringWas nothing to do with the amount of times these things were on their sides?
@@johna6968 Possibly? I mean, I’m blaming the Honda dealer for not checking but we had already covered over 1500 km before it became an issue and like you said some of that was off road so I guess the DCT was working hard. It’s difficult to pin point who or what was at fault but it was an easy fix.
@@GreenString interesting.. scary...
No warning light for the lack of oil? And if there was no leak... where did the oil go?!
Off-road? Looks like a road to me buddy.
Thanks for taking the time to comment, it’s always appreciated and naturally your right, it was filmed entirely on “roads” and not “off- road”.
