NoctiGirl is for those who enjoy photography, traveling, music, art, and fun!
Growing up in a village on the outskirts of the City of Angels, she was exposed to music and photography at a very young age. She learned to make music from banging her fingers on these white and black wood blocks, and freezing people/objects/sceneries on strips of light-sensitive material using memory recording devices.
Now, as an older-looking pretend-child, she is obsessed with these memory recording devices, traveling, music, and art.
This channel is a result of her obsessions. Charlice the NoctiGirl cordially and playfully welcomes you to her Noct Up world where she shares her Noct Up stories about her Noct Up life.

It would be so easy to just delete your entire life savings on some Leica stuff, crazy.
lol I think you can say that about a lot of stuff, like cars, watches, guitars, feet pics, etc. 😆
Don’t forget most photographers don’t use or need a Leica.
TBH, no one needs a specific brand of camera. The best camera is the one you have in your hand when you need it the most. But some of us prefer specific brands, and some brands create stronger communities than others. That is what Leica is to me. You seem to have been offended by the Leica brand, seeing that you've left many comments on my videos. I'm sorry that's been your experience. I hope you can try to get to know some Leica shooters and get to know the community. You might be pleasantly surprised 🙂
10:05. You don’t support Australian interest. Only Eu and USA.
Aww what makes you say that? 😢
6:00 Amazing video, for the LHSA Black Paint M6 TTL they were factory converted 60 of the .85 into .58 viewinders, with the clean and only 35mm framelines. Very rare!
Thanks for sharing and tuning in! 😊
Wow the girl is loaded 😂😂😂😂😂
After working 7 days a week for 10 years straight to finally buy the lens and the camera, you can say I was loaded 🥹
Wishing you a very Happy Christmas, and I hope that you received something nice from Santa's sack ! (Christmas is for humour 😉)
Hahaha you are too sweet!! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season 😊 Hahaha Santa brought me to Japan this year 🤩
@NoctiGirl You are more than welcome, and very nice too ! Japan is so much nicer in Winter, plus everything is so nice: food, shopping, travel, politeness. Tokyo is enormous and busy, but still strangely relaxing and all fascinating. 🫠
Phew I'm finally back home in LA. Tokyo was so fun! But it was actually very cold... well, cold in SoCal standards! It was also very tempting to spend money there because the Yen is quite weak right now 🙈
The camera isn’t worth more than $3500. I’m not going to pay $7000 for a camera lens.
🥹😆🤫
Had the pleasure of joining LSI at Porto earlier this year and I was impressed with the warmth and friendliness of all I met!
That's awesome! Looking forward to seeing you at future events! 😊
nice shots of Mat Marrash, the "LFF" channel, a great resource for all film and esp. large format knowledge.
Thanks for tuning in! Mat is awesome. I watch his videos all the time and learn tons from him 🤓 He's also a very patient teacher 😃
Thankyou for thr video. Very informative ❤👍
Glad you liked it! Hope it was helpful 😊
My eyessss see the world differentlyyyyyy ohh yeaaa
Ya my eyes definitely see the world differently cuz they are myopic 🤓
Kevin Flickling would be a perfect buddy if one liked Leica lenses and cameras. ;-)
😝
Very nice. I hope two of F1 versions but I prefer the rendering of 0.95, although it's heavier.
I also love the 0.95 😍 which versions of the f1 do you own??
Thanks for a great summary.... looks like the f1.2 reissue for me 😀
Thanks for watching! The 1.2 reissue is a great lens 😊
Fact check: the M3 was produced over many years, not just 1954-56
Thanks!
your Hasselblad is so fly
Hehe thanks 😛✌🏻
Did it just get truncated ?
Hahaha I think so. TH-cam shorts can only be 1 minute long so they cut off a few seconds 🥹
@NoctiGirl It's like a cliffhanger. 😉
I'll pretend that it was intentional 😝
I need that T-Shirt :-)
🤓
Great video Charlice, a wonderful way to keep us all connected across the world. Would have loved to have been there amongst friends.
Thank you so much!! It’s a great community of likeminded people who share the same passion. Hope to catch you at the next one 😊
Interesting video. I’m 75 years old and have owned many Leica cameras over the years. Currently I use an SL2s and a D-Lux type 109. I’ve only recently become interested in LSI. I’ll stay tuned.
Welcome to the community! I think you’d really enjoy LSI events. You should come to one of them next time. Thanks for tuning in! 😊
If you buy a Leica and Billingham camera bag, you become a "master" photographer immediately, at least what I see on YT. Pointless, meaningless images, became "masterpieces". Sorry!
I’m really sorry that you feel this way. I can’t speak for others on YT, but the organization is more about people who share the same passions spending time and having a blast together. Sure, in any group you’ll always get some of those who think they are superior than others. But the LSI group of people are quite welcoming. It’s not just about Leica this or that, it’s about learning photography and sharing your passion with likeminded people 🙂
@@NoctiGirl I'm doing photography over 50 years with different cameras. It don't matter what camera photographers use, what matters is who is behind the camera with photographic vision. Most of the old masters or legends used Leica for street photography because that time Leicas were the best cameras. Today they are not even close to the best. You can be a legend with a point and shoot camera, like Daido Moriama or Tatsio Suzuki or a Canon shooter one of the best ever Mr. Salgado.
Thank you for documenting this very fun - and way too short - meeting!!
Thanks for tuning in Dan!! I look forward to seeing you (and Susan?) at the next one! 😊
Wow what a wonderful job.The event looks great. So happy for you Charlice. Proud of you!!
Thank you Chester! I’ve missed you!! You should come out to some of these events with me 🥹
Thank you for making this video! Keith (UK).
Thanks for tuning in! 😊
Purchased my first Leica from Dan last year (SL2-S); the entire experience was first rate.
Glad you had a great experience! Dan is just an awesome person 😊
What are the requirements to join the group besides owning a Leica camera ?
Actually, owning a Leica camera is NOT a requirement! The only requirement is to enjoy photography 😉 We have Leica fans who don't currently own Leica cameras join these events. They get to try out different Leica cameras at each event - for free! You can bring these cameras - we call them Leica-on-Loan - to the photowalks. You can also ask anyone around you if you are unsure how to use them or confused by the settings. Someone will be able to assist right away 😊
@ any idea when and where is the upcoming event . Thank you
The next event will be in Charleston, SC, from April 24 - 26! After that it will be in Vienna, Austria from May 15 - 18. I plan on making this one! 😊
Hi, I am planning to travel to Japan to buy cameras for trade. Is it easy or complicated because I wanted to buy large quantities and sell them to my country?
Hi, thanks for reaching out! I think buying might not be an issue but importing them into your country might be more complicated as you'll need to deal with duty, taxes and such. Are you looking to buy new or used cameras?
@@NoctiGirl I plan to sell used cameras from these companies (Sony-Canon) and more
Gotcha. You’ll definitely find a lot of them in Japan, including models that aren’t available in any other parts of the world. Good luck!
@@NoctiGirl I couldn't have done it without you, thanks a lot!
You're very welcome! The Japanese Yen is quite weak right now (having just gotten back from Japan myself). Now's a good time to buy!
Great to see you document another event!
Thank you Aaron!! See you at the next one! 😊
Great video. Lot's of photographers with the latest gear (M11, Q3, SL3). Glad to see the Sofort 2's are popular (I love mine). I'm shooting last gen M10-P an still love it.
Thanks!! It was fascinating seeing so many Leica photographers at Luft. I also have an M10-P and love it! The Sofort is such a fun camera. I love mine as well 😊
Thank you for a great report.
Thanks for tuning in! Come join us next time. We had a blast! 😊
I joined LHS more than 10 years ago and there wasn't much members then they were now in Los Angeles. There was only a few people in California State at the time. So I stopped paying for the membership. Well I'm glad that has grown. Thank you for shari ng the video of this growth. There was a lot of members, but back East but not as much as in California... It really didn't benefit me to continue with the membership. I'm glad that there's more literatures and LHS get-togethers & I look forward seeing Leica Historical Society be active in Los Angeles, CA.
There are a LOT of members in the organizations now! Though at the LA event, not everyone was from LA, many of them flew out from other parts of the country/world. It was tons of fun. You should give it a try again when you can. We had a blast! 😉
Thank you for putting this together. Great video showing what a great community we have.
Thanks for tuning in Stephen and sharing your photos from the event with us! 😊
Great video Charlice. See you at the next one.
Thanks Jason!! See you at the next one! 😊💖
International so long as you’re in the US…
lol actually they are usually overseas! Last October we went to Wetzlar to the Mothership! Back in April we went to Leica’s factory in Porto Portugal 😉
Hopefully Singapore or Hong Kong one day.
Maybe I'll convince them!! But we need to make sure people will show up if the events are hosted there? What do you think? 🤔 Is Leica popular in Singapore? 😛
@NoctiGirl Leica is very popular in Singapore. Plus, it's easy to visit from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
Ohhh I might need to make that trip myself first 😁 I miss authentic Hainanese chicken rice 😋😍🍗
My Kind of people... Thank you for the time.Looks like they cleaned up venice beach...
Yes they did! I was surprised when we went there. It was a lot nicer and cleaner than the last time I was there 😂 You should come out to the next event! 😊
@@NoctiGirl i have cousins out that way one day i will i think it might be fun!
Actually these events are usually at different locations! The next one in the U.S. will be in Charleston and after that Vienna. I’ll be at the Vienna one 😉
@@NoctiGirl never been to Vienna. It's lovely there!
It's a beautiful city full of the arts, music, and history! The last time I was there I spent a full week in the city attending classical concerts and operas every night. I was in heaven 😍
M9 is the one to go
The M9 is awesome! Though I do like the updated tech on the newer models... 🥹
Is this your first video? If so, it's very cool, I'm new here.
Hahaha thanks for tuning in! I was just having fun and goofing around 😛
Waay to go !!! Thanks for this upload!! Such a fine Machine. I don't have one.. yet.
Thanks for tuning in! The M2 is awesome, but I'm not a fan of that manual frame counter 😛
this would be a solid combo with an sigma fp gold color profile
oh wow I'll need to look into that. Thanks!
Very nice. The framelines are, in my opinion, the most useful. I don't like the manual frame counter, but I actually find the separate film spool more reliable. I'm lucky enough to have a black paint M2, but mine is not as shiny as yours.
Thank you!! I also don't care for the manual frame counter, but I totally agree with the take-up spool. It IS more reliable, though it takes slightly longer to load. I wish that M2 was mine! 😆 It was a borrowed unit from a friend 😊
@NoctiGirl Well, do remind your friend that Christmas is coming ... 🙃
Hahaha well I think I might be on Santa's Nice List this year 😁😉😝
@@NoctiGirl I believe so ! #GoodNoctigirl
😇
That’s cool. But i’d still only use it at night
It's a great versatile lens but definitely needs an ND to use in broad daylight!
You have taken some incredible photos! You’re absolutely right about the dreamy bokeh that the Nocti produces. One question I have for you is: do you always use the rangefinder to focus OR are there times that you resort to using EVF for focusing at 0.95? Thank you for sharing this video
Thanks for tuning in! I've always used the rangefinder and I'm learning to rely on the LCD more with the focus-peaking function turned on. That's extremely helpful in lowlight situations. I haven't really tried the EVF yet but I think I will pick one up. A lot of photographers I know own one and swear by it. Thanks again for your support 😊💖
