Interesting video. I’m 75 years old and have owned many Leica cameras over the years. Currently I use an SL2s and a D-Lux type 109. I’ve only recently become interested in LSI. I’ll stay tuned.
I joined LHS more than 10 years ago and there wasn't much members then they were now in Los Angeles. There was only a few people in California State at the time. So I stopped paying for the membership. Well I'm glad that has grown. Thank you for shari ng the video of this growth. There was a lot of members, but back East but not as much as in California... It really didn't benefit me to continue with the membership. I'm glad that there's more literatures and LHS get-togethers & I look forward seeing Leica Historical Society be active in Los Angeles, CA.
There are a LOT of members in the organizations now! Though at the LA event, not everyone was from LA, many of them flew out from other parts of the country/world. It was tons of fun. You should give it a try again when you can. We had a blast! 😉
Yes they did! I was surprised when we went there. It was a lot nicer and cleaner than the last time I was there 😂 You should come out to the next event! 😊
Actually these events are usually at different locations! The next one in the U.S. will be in Charleston and after that Vienna. I’ll be at the Vienna one 😉
It's a beautiful city full of the arts, music, and history! The last time I was there I spent a full week in the city attending classical concerts and operas every night. I was in heaven 😍
Actually, owning a Leica camera is NOT a requirement! The only requirement is to enjoy photography 😉 We have Leica fans who don't currently own Leica cameras join these events. They get to try out different Leica cameras at each event - for free! You can bring these cameras - we call them Leica-on-Loan - to the photowalks. You can also ask anyone around you if you are unsure how to use them or confused by the settings. Someone will be able to assist right away 😊
lol actually they are usually overseas! Last October we went to Wetzlar to the Mothership! Back in April we went to Leica’s factory in Porto Portugal 😉
Maybe I'll convince them!! But we need to make sure people will show up if the events are hosted there? What do you think? 🤔 Is Leica popular in Singapore? 😛
If you buy a Leica and Billingham camera bag, you become a "master" photographer immediately, at least what I see on YT. Pointless, meaningless images, became "masterpieces". Sorry!
I’m really sorry that you feel this way. I can’t speak for others on YT, but the organization is more about people who share the same passions spending time and having a blast together. Sure, in any group you’ll always get some of those who think they are superior than others. But the LSI group of people are quite welcoming. It’s not just about Leica this or that, it’s about learning photography and sharing your passion with likeminded people 🙂
@@NoctiGirl I'm doing photography over 50 years with different cameras. It don't matter what camera photographers use, what matters is who is behind the camera with photographic vision. Most of the old masters or legends used Leica for street photography because that time Leicas were the best cameras. Today they are not even close to the best. You can be a legend with a point and shoot camera, like Daido Moriama or Tatsio Suzuki or a Canon shooter one of the best ever Mr. Salgado.
Wow what a wonderful job.The event looks great. So happy for you Charlice. Proud of you!!
Thank you Chester! I’ve missed you!! You should come out to some of these events with me 🥹
Had the pleasure of joining LSI at Porto earlier this year and I was impressed with the warmth and friendliness of all I met!
That's awesome! Looking forward to seeing you at future events! 😊
Great video Charlice, a wonderful way to keep us all connected across the world. Would have loved to have been there amongst friends.
Thank you so much!! It’s a great community of likeminded people who share the same passion. Hope to catch you at the next one 😊
Thank you for putting this together. Great video showing what a great community we have.

What are the requirements to join the group besides owning a Leica camera ?

The next event will be in Charleston, SC, from April 24 - 26! After that it will be in Vienna, Austria from May 15 - 18. I plan on making this one! 😊
10:05. You don’t support Australian interest. Only Eu and USA.
Aww what makes you say that? 😢
International so long as you’re in the US…

Hopefully Singapore or Hong Kong one day.

@NoctiGirl Leica is very popular in Singapore. Plus, it's easy to visit from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
Ohhh I might need to make that trip myself first 😁 I miss authentic Hainanese chicken rice 😋😍🍗
