I see some wolves fans celebrating Dallas' downfall. Not me. This just makes me feel worse. They are getting whooped and it makes me feel bad because we couldn't do anything against them. At the time I just accepted we got beat by the better team but now I feel like, we should have been able to compete. We got easily handled in 5 games, it wasn't very competitive. OKC and the Clippers put up better fights. That's a major flaw of our squad and we need to figure something out. Even if we lost that series we should have battled.

we got outcoached by Dallas. they weren't the better team, but they executed their game plan to a tee and luka/kyrie carried hard, with timely scoring from their role players (who by all means, didn't even shoot that well in this series besides Gafford and Lively with easy dunks). the wolves had no game plan vs dallas and made no adjustments. the tv crew kept saying it, fans kept saying it....attack kyrie and luka and make them play defense, but the Wolves never wanted to do that. their idea of attacking luka was having him switch on Rudy in the block. what a dumb coaching staff.

We didn't attack Luka enough that was a major mistake. Coach Finch needs to add that more into the offense, mismatch hunting. Luka was hiding all series against the Wolves. That was a BIG mistake.

Great to see Jon K. on the pod with you guys! MN is definitely showing thru as a basketball town, & part of that is the embarrassment of riches/choice of vibes here in this media market, from Dane & Jon K as the reporters of record, to the fanatic perspective of Kyle, to the florid writing of Britt, to the vibes of Judd & Mackey... it's been great to see. Having interesting/big/engaging personalities to cover definitely helps, from JR Rider to KG to Rubio to ANT. Then Jon's deep dives on guys like Conley really personalize these players--I look forward to seeing his piece on Kyle Anderson, as we have decent ASD support here in the TC metro area...

It would seem to me that Bloomberg's presence most likely means that A- Rod & Lore are not going away and that the result of the arbitration is only a detail on the way to new ownership. It also would seem to be an indication that Bloomberg's folks view the group's legal position to be strong. Why would Bloomberg sign on to an endeavor that is about to fail? Question: How does this development affect the stances of the other limited partners?

Position talk is weird with slomo. I think it needs to be the role. Defensively he can defend the bigger 3, most 4, and sometimes 5. He shouldn’t navigate screens. Offensively he is best in the high post, whether creating or reading. Call it a PF or sf or whatever but it is the role.

His offense will work if you have a team that has played a lot together, but it wasn't good for winning in the playoffs. He needed to create more looks for Ant on catch and shoot. No backdoor cuts, no back screens and he needs KAT to play at the FT line and be a passer and shooter from their and not allow himself to drift out to the three.

As a Mavs fan, the wolves are going to be a scary team. Growing pains are a part of the game. It’s what you do next is what’s important. The Mavs did the same thing 2 years ago. We won our first series in the Luka era so beating the suns in 7 ( like the minn / Denver) was a cherry on top. Then losing to GS in 5 games like you guys just did. Growing pains and 2 years later we are in the finals. But you guys have a bright future but this year is really important. Just don’t go in the Atlanta direction where they just crap away their house money.

Not that it’s about comparing, but in the playoffs I’ve hopped around to the other teams pods and it’s really proved what I already knew: this pod is rare and a gift. From Brit’s quirky old man rants to Kyle’s diehard fan perspective, y’all have managed to get distinct voices who are knowledgeable and interesting about our wolves. Truly an inspired idea to have the best writers on particularly when they are this good at what they do. This pods so grounded in reality and well versed in the nba as a whole in a media space that is so homery and tends towards hot takes. Props to everyone involved and can’t wait for next year. I don't think the personnel has an offensive issue, I think they can increase their offense with better schemes and development from Ant and Jaden. When they don't turn over the ball, they have done great offensively. They were the #1 offense in the playoffs the first 2 rounds and ended as the #7 offense. Just like they honed their defense at training camp last year, they can focus on developing Ant-KAT two-man game, positioning players on the floor differently, giving Jaden a more defined role with cutting, Ant incorporating a floater and throwing lobs etc. There are many possibilities they can still tap into and work on with this personnel. Rudy also had a big impact on the offense in the playoffs - when he was on the court Wolves scored 16 points (!) more points than when he was off the court (122 is equivalent to the #1 offense). His screens, his vertical gravity, getting the team in the bonus are all offensive contributions. Ant hit game winning daggers off of Rudy screens... www.pbpstats.com/wowy-combos/nba?TeamId=1610612750&Season=2023-24&SeasonType=Playoffs&PlayerIds=203497

Wolves is not built for a great half court offense because of Gobert. They need to make stops and run. In the series. Gobert cannot prevent dunks after dunks; Dallas averaged more than 110 points a game. KAT stunk up the joint. No wonder they lost.

Not being a Homer here, but the wolves were the better team. I know we don't play by ifs but if these 2 teams play again on Monday for game 1 wolves would win this series. Kat and ant play their worse 3 games stretch. I don't see why rudy and Kay can't just dunks like lively and gafford but wolves don't have a play maker like Luka and kyrie.

  • @kouthao7581

Kats time to grow is already passed. Kat is kat. I wouldn't mind kat if he was on a Naz contract type or a little more but he's being paid as the guy and he's not. Ant is not a play maker yet and hopefully he can grow into it but if you put curry, kyrie, or Luka with rudy and kat. Rudy and kat will be better player because those other guys can play make and give rudy and kat easy buckets. I see soo many plays where rudy is wide open and ant took a shot. Ant can get his at anytime so he needs to feed rudy to make rudy a offensive threat. Clint capella got soo many easy buckets from harden. Lively and gafford were 44 for 48 fgs all if not most were dunks.
