    Excellent video critique. One of the thing that might not be know to many of your European viewers is that California Governor Gavin Newsom just signed into law that an edict that all electric vehicles sold in the state, beginning in 2027, will be required to have bidirectional charging capability. This is so these cars can act as storage batteries for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) or vehicle-to-home (V2H) scenarios. Tesla has famously avoided bidirectional charging, with Musk stating as far back as 2015 that it would "damage the batteries." But in subsequent years Telsa began manufacturing many of their standard range Model 3s and Model Ys to run on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, which is exactly the same chemistry found in solar battery storage installations. So, bidirectional charging shouldn't have any ill effect on these EVs: basically debunking an old Musk urban myth. So, for the Cybercab to be sold in California - and we all know that won't happen before 2027 - it's going to have to include some sort of cable charging interface. I don't know if there is such a thing as bidirectional induction charging. But if there is, it's certainly going to be more complex, more expensive and less efficient than what is being used now.

Now just imagine each one of those people in a Robotaxi on the (already very busy) street above, and you see what BS his ideas are.

As I'm sure there are many instances of the opposite. as for the stock pump... your saying the guy that once wrote on social media that the stock price was out of control and to high, put on an event just to pump the stock price. even though anyone involved in this company knows that when they drop news or have an event the stock price goes down. anyways as an investor in the company I do appreciate counter points

    The Robotaxi is all about compression through shared hyperutilization, meaning why own a car when you could pay $100-250/month instead of $400-800 per month in owning a car . We have more than about 1 billion vehicles on the roads globally that are drastically underutilized. A Robotaxi fleet of 100 million vehicles at 5-10x usage compared to the current ownership model of driving 1-2 hours per day means that there will be 80-90% less vehicles on the roads over the next one to two vehicle cycles (15 year average vehicle lifespan). Electric battery technologies are in their absolute infancy. There are tested battery chemistries that have shown gains of upwards of 20x of current battery chemistries in production today. These efficient chemistries will likely become commercially available in the next 10 years and improve over the next 10 years after that. Combine reduced battery weight, mileage gains with better chemistry, additional automation (Optimus robot), and AI integration and we will more than half the cost of a vehicle in the next 10 to 15 years, yet again. The numbers Musk states will be crushed over time. A $30K Tesla that lasts 1 million miles costs $0.03 per mile, future vehicles will go 2-5 million miles or be more efficient and could weigh close to half of what they are today. Charging per mile is currently upwards of $0.05. Let's just assume another $0.02 in overhead/cleaning/AI and we are at $0.10 per mile in base costs, and be further reduced as renewables and nuclear energy half charging costs over the next 20 years.

    • @comcarclub
      @comcarclub วันที่ผ่านมา

      First off, thanks for taking the time to write this comment. I think your take on this makes far too many sweeping assumptions, such as the cost per month of ownership, the 5-10x usage (that will depend on how affordable the Robotaxi actually is), the 20x better batteries (that's been promised for years, so far, nothing, and better chemistries might not be that feasible given the intrinsic properties of the materials). The $30k price tag is from a guy who has never fulfilled the promised price tag of his products (was there ever a $35k Model 3, for example?). Where did you read that current cars will weigh half of what they do today? On what are the costs per mile based on? Why would charging costs drop with renewables and nuclear if providers can charge the same and reap in higher profits? If you made it this far, thanks for reading.

      @@comcarclub Tesla is strategically playing the long game, a stance it's held since its inception. Despite criticism, large legacy companies remain stuck in bureaucratic inertia, continuing their current models until they face a real threat. By then, it's often too late, as it takes 7-10 years for these companies to develop and scale even a single critical element, like an EV. The price of the car is irrelevant ($30K to $60K is $0.03 to $0.06 per mile). The price per mile I used was the base car plus charging on grid (not public charging), only cleaning is not technology priced. There are automated car washing stalls that wash cars in 5 minutes and cost $10K in capital, so even washing and inside cleaning everyday will be low cost, app software ecosystem is a joke to price as software development in 2027+ is nothing (several billion of overpriced developers salaries). There is no competitor. This is a first mover take at least one quarter to half of the market if not more. Whoever scales fastest makes everyone else irrelevant. It takes 3-4 years to build a new plant (GigaTexas sized) and scale production. Tesla moves too slow. It could easily spend $5 billion on 5-8+ new plants and scale to 20 million production by 2030 and hit 100 million by 2035-2037, but they will move slowly and only build 3-4 new facilities by 2030 and expand the current to do 1-3 million each. They are sitting on $30 billion of cash on hand today. If Musk wanted to he could just go all in on Robotaxi and wipe out the entire auto market if he wanted to within 10 years and stop wasting time, capacity, and money on selling cars. He could also own the entire market and make it as a service and own the fleet to and outprice every other company that attempts to challenge him, but we have regulations to prevent monopolies and Musk actually wants others to win too and even gives all this out for free, for the past decade. He could have kept it all quiet and crushed everyone. Tesla isn’t just an auto manufacturer; it’s positioning itself as a transportation system-as-a-service provider. In this arena, Tesla is at least a decade ahead of any competitor. While I believe Tesla’s progress could be faster, companies like Waymo are not serious contenders. They lack the necessary data, won't establish a profitable fleet even with Chinese partnerships, and are too far behind to catch up. Ultimately, they will remain a minor player. Long-term, there will likely be only 100-200 million vehicles on the roads (30+ years from now), with everything else either phased out or existing as nostalgic experiences for older generations. Tesla’s advantage is built on four pillars: data, AI, manufacturing/automation at scale, and brand/market penetration. These create a competitive moat that will be nearly impossible for legacy automakers to cross, turning them into irrelevant relics. Chinese brands are the only potential competitors that might survive in the upcoming era. While Tesla’s technology isn’t perfect yet-given only two years of small-scale training with unsupervised vision-the collective advantage Tesla holds is unmatched. No other company is within a decade of reaching the level necessary (Data, AI, manufacturing, fleet scale, key market brand) to compete in the autonomous EV transportation-as-a-service market.

      This, women who feel harassed, and people who are unable to drive are pretty much the only realistic problems robotaxis solve currently. Waymo has the only actual robotaxi in the US right now and this is what people seem to find it useful for currently. But their vehicles cost $100K and they still need to have a depot for cleaning and charging, so the economics just are nowhere near there yet. And yes, the two-seater thing is nuts, it should fit six because those are the rideshare rides that are most comfortable to the most amount of people and the hardest to get. It's almost like they have no idea how to run a transportation business. Oh wait of course they don't.

    America captured a building sized rocket. No other nation did that 😂 also what problem does robo taxi solve? Use time, the time doing nothing will be cut down. This is a fixed cost in every vehicle. One vehicle does 5x the work of a non autonomous system. So the cost is 80% cheaper. I'd get in a self driving car when the data crossover happens. I'm not a fan boy, but I am a fan of math, and ultimately, all I care about is numbers. Elon Musk doesn't have similar positions as me on important topics. But that doesn't stop the objective view of reality.

    • @comcarclub
      @comcarclub วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Intrepidinnovation no doubt the chopstick manoeuvre was impressive, but without a payload, it's just headline fodder. I may be proved completely wrong, but that's OK. I don't follow your logic regarding the robotaxi, as a manned taxi or autonomous one will have similar use times, but the robotaxi will have to take more time and use more energy to charge. Hence, I don't think the 80% cheaper claim has legs to stand on. I don't see the numbers adding up and Musk has a habit of, let's say, embellishing those numbers. I'll believe it when I see it. My sincere thanks for the comment and the opportunity for discussion. All the best

      @Intrepidinnovation วันที่ผ่านมา

      @comcarclub hey, it's important to discuss things. We don't have to agree. But regarding autonomous driving, you are right to point out that the fixed cost goes to zero for regular cab as well. But the driver is the heavy cost in that scenario. I was comparing ownership vs. autonomous. The reason current cabs are not competitive to ownership is you have to pay a driver. Also, with the chopsticks thing , I'm sure they know the math. Considering how complicated the task was, it's strange to assume they would make a mistake that would make the contents of alpha phase design procedures. Payload would be the topic of discussion long before the plans hit production.
