I would put the Citroën DS19 right there too. Would have loved to drive one.

I always coveted the classic Disco but never pulled the trigger due to reliability issues, up there with my Saab 900s, for sheer enjoyment. Happy to say I am now the proud owner of an INEOS Grenadier, which will hopefully be a winner in design AND reliability.

As the original owner of a 2000 Disco II V8, I love and hate the Thing.. :) hehehe When the truck was 10months old, I added a Center Locking Diff and OME suspension and it out performed Defenders offroad with the assistance of the ETC. The Defender 90 did have better angles of course. Best part of the disco is the utility of it, it does a lot very well. Often thought of selling it, but what does what it does better?

It is probably fair to say Land Rover is to me what Citroen is to you. I never stepped inside the original (or "classic") Range Rover, though I have tried the Discovery II for spell. I quite liked it, it felt like a capable no-nonsense truck with more luxury than I had seen at the time (this was in 1999) As I understand it, Land Rover wanted the Discovery series to replace the classic Range Rover as the "rugged yet luxurious" vehicle in their lineup - while the P38 (2nd gen Range Rover) was supposed to create a new niche for full luxury and opulence. The Discovery was made to be a comfortable and fairly luxurious, yet capable off-road truck which the owner could hose down to clean after off-roading, both inside and out. Much like the original classic Range Rover.

The Disco is a Classic underneath in the end, even the front doors swap over

If you own an older Land Rover, purchase a Nanocom diagnostic tool. You’ll thank me later. 😉

Older landrovers aren't compatible with diagnostic tools

of course not the Series 1,2,3, classic RR and older V8 defenders but the older RR P38, Disco 1, Disco 2 and Defenders with TD5 engines accept diagnostic tools.

hey, do you have a flashing yellow sos light? i do, and i think it’s because citroen ended support for all cars before 2016 (i just want to check because i want to see if its for everyone or only me)

Flashing yellow SOS light? I don't think so. I didn't have that button in either of my C5s, if that's what you're referring to

@@comcarclub when you start car, sos button flashes green, but in this case it flashes yellow and stops after 2 minutes

If I had the need and the money for an off road car I would look what a certain Japanese manufacturer can do for me…
In the seventies, when I was a kid, a farmer’s family (and cattle dealer) drove a Range Rover 3.5 litre V8. That was quite impressive. Because we couldn’t afford a small Simca 1100 while they didn’t care about fuel prices at all. Strange times, like today.
Take care and see you soon »»» Martin
