adverb of kaunis is kaunisti vai kauniisti?
I'm studying finnish done with this massa and maan.but i learned more additional in this video.Kiitos.
You explained it well easily to understand and remembered..i learned a lot.kiitos paljon
"Luin kirjan" is perfect kirjakieli. In speech most would say "Mä luin kirjan", in Helsinki at least.
Great channel my friend. Although I'm not sure why the algorithm is showing me this video. I am fluent in Finnish. Perhaps the microphone overheard me after one too many beers and they thought I co7ld use a refresher course. But I will share this with my friends who always want to learn some finnish but I can't really explain the rules that great because u learned from my immigrant grandmother and my father as a baby.
Kiitos paljon.!!! Mä opin paljon susta.
oh look who is here OMG My bestie <3
Minulla on kaksi ystävää, jotka ovat suomalaisia. (kaksi ystävää). Minulla on ystäviä, jotka ovat suomalaisia. (ystäviä)
kiitos , this will be our lesson for next week. nice explanation.
Very good! Well, I understood it first time around. But I would not be able to actively speak like that yet, no. Soon maybe? kurssilla = in the course kursseilla = in the courses (plural) But of course you probably know that already by now.
LOL. Too late!🤣
This was really comprehensive thanks 🙏
Will it still be useless to learn if we consider to learn it from Job perspective in Finland?
Kiitos paljon. Mä opin paljon sulta.
Minäkin
good video
Kaapilla = at the cupboard Kaapin päällä = on the cupboard
Thank you. It was very helpful. Olet ihana.
Ihailen sinua, joka on aina kauniisti pukeutunut. ❌ Ihailen sinua, koska/kun olet aina (niin) kauniisti pukeutunut. ✅
Kiitos paljon
What about the words "joku" and "jokin"? Jollakulla, jollakin, jokunen,...
joku almost every time compoud to person for example "joku minun kavereistani kävi kaupassa" is in english " one of my friends went to the store". Sorry i don`t know how to explain the others you wrote because it quite complicated to explain and i am not any kind of teacher :)
For native English language people just beginning to learn Finnish, your explanation was VERY helpful. Well done!! I look forward to looking at your other video's now as this is the first. I hope the clarity of explanation is the same for all. Thank you!!
Keep making a lot videos like this.
New subscriber 😊 Wanna learn how-to speak finnish
I am in the middle of studying joka, jotka, jolla, jossa, joilla, josta etc i found it interesting and more understandable with your explanation. Kiitos paljon Nigeriasta 😂🎉
Kaapilla is "at the cupboard". The adessive case is strange as the meaning depends on the object. If it is something on which things are put: table, floor etc. It means "on". If not it means "at". If it is a person then it means "has": "Pekalla on auto" = "Pekka has [got] a car" this also applies to things like diseases. The general way to say on top is the postposition "päällä". You could say "pöydän päällä" though it sounds somewhat weird.
Well yes, sometimes you pick adessive rather than inessive because it's complicated. Like country names. Russia is complicated.
Finally i already understood how to use it.This is kinda hard for me learning in Finnish on how and when can i use it. 😊
A better literal translation for computer is ”data machine”. ”Tieto” means information or knowledge but it also means data.
Voi vittu (oh fuck) = butter vagina
Thank you for easy explanation 👍
Missä sinä olet? Olen kotona.
6:42 and 8:27 The question should be "Minne sinä menet?", while the phrasing used here is essentially correct as a word-for-ford translation, the meaning is more like "At what point of your journey are you now?". 13:09 cupboard is "kaappi", and "kaapin" is its possessive case. Also, "minä" and "sinä" seem to be missing their dots, which are not diacritics, as ä and ö are letters of their own (å too, but we don't talk about that).
Joo ei kyl!😅
Thank you. I"m studying Finnish and was wondering about objects and found your explanation useful. You present yourself well.
I dont think actually anyone talks like that using infinitive...its weird to hear. Try to find some real examples from tv or YT.
Also, there is Finnish word; Jollain, that means in English: At some. Example: At some way (English) = Jollain tavalla (Finnish).
Thanks for this video ! So helpful, when I have more time I'll see this video with more attention for better understanding . I don't know anything about finnish but I hope I will be at a good level one day. For me , a native portuguese speaker is like impossible to find a video about finnish in portuguese, only in English. I watch w subtitles bcs is better to understand all , and at least I can practice my English 😄 And about the spoken finnish be different from written finnish, I think is not a bad thing for me cause iin Portuguese we have this, example the word "para "( it mean to or for in english ) when we spoke, evryone says "pra " but in write must be 'para' ( in formal texts, or messages )
You're so welcome!! I hope I can make at least 1 video per week for this series. Good luck on your English and Finnish language journey 🎊💪🤘
Way to go, make more videos about Finnish casese if it's possible.
Awesome job! You know Finnish better than I know English 😊 Merry Christmas
Thank you for the kind comment!! Merry Xmas 🎅🎊
Kiitos paljon. I learned finnish language before coming to Finland. But now that I am with locals, I am lost in the conversation. Keep on uploading videos we are here to learn. ehkä puhun suomea😊
Hey, thanks for the comment! Yeah listening can be really tricky for me too! It obviously depends on the speaker though, some of my teachers I understand well and can have conversations with, and others make me feel like I don't know any Finnish 😅 I'm currently studying with a company called Careeria and it's a course which is part of the TE Toimisto integration services. I have also studied in an evening course and also online with Helsinki University. I think studying with Helsinki University is the most effective, but you would still need to practice speaking outside of the courses as they are short and intensive and they don't provide much opportunity to put the theory into practice. I'm not familiar with Oma Suomi, but I had a quick look at the sample pages and it looks fairly well made. I would personally reccomend Suomen Mesteri books as they are the most commonly used in courses in Finland, so if you want to study at a course in Finland (online or in person), then you would need Suomen Mesteri books in order to attend. Also, make sure to buy the right level of book so you don't waste your money. Oma Suomi 1 looks like it is A2.1 - A2.2, so if you are already A2.2/B1.1, then I would suggest getting Oma Suomi 2, or if you chose Suomen Mesteri, I would suggest Suomen Mesteri 2. Thank you again for the comment and enjoy your Xmas holiday 🙏🤟🎊
I'm at the same level as you, as far as reading and writing go. My listening comprehension sucks😂 Native speakers speak so fast and speak puhekieli, so I get lost quickly. Thanks to the holidays, I am saving your videos for when I have more time to REALLY listen...but did I miss you telling WHICH book/app/lessons you are doing?? Are you self-studying the Oma Suomi 1 text? I've been thinking of buying it, but at $100 USD, that's a commitment! If it is worth it, I shall. Have a happy holiday!🎄❤️
What is the difference between nama and Tama
Tämä is this and nämä is these (used for plural). Similarly, tuo is that and Nuo is those. I hope this helps ☺️
more videos about verbs of sensory perception and demonstrayive..kiitos paljon.
I'm impressed that you are so dedicated to learn Finnish well and really analyze how the language works. Well done!
Minä menen pelaanmaan jalkapalloa, you can say also mä meen nyt pelaan futista.
Puhekieli takes some short cuts by dropping letters.
How about even mä oon menossa pelaan futista?

Good job bro! Congrats! 😉💪
An older word for the Salmon Snake 'Dragon' is "Lapakyy" which means a Paddle Adder, and I love that word.
My favorite of Finnish literal words is pölynimuri, dustsucker, which is of course a vacuum cleaner :)
Hahaha! That's a good one!

I am from Bangladesh and currently living in Finland. I am learning Finnish as a beginner. Please make some videos on sentence formation and how to make full sentences. By the way I am 26
Thanks for your videos . Please can you do a video on clauses ? Thanks.
Hey! Yes, I can definitely try, but do you mind explaining a bit more about what you are looking for? I know there are lots of different types of clause, so for example, using multiple verbs together or using connecting words like että or joka?
Am talking about impersonal necessity clause and necessity clause .
Living in Northern Savonia for 3 months now, totally agreed with everything you said.
