Hello Harry, I've got some footage of some barbel sessions to edit with a little tench fishing included. Had a new pb barbel in October, filmed the fish but not the bite and fight, I fluked it out before I got the camera set up. I've been doing a bit of sea fishing over the past couple of winters from the beach. I've learnt myself to pendulum cast with the aid of TH-cam lol. Going to start editing as soon as I can mate, my main hobby at the moment is chainsawing logs and splitting them with the axe. All the best mate and I'll be back into the swing of it soon.

Hi Chris. Great news that you might be uploading another video before long, I’m looking forward to viewing it! I’ve had a log burning stove for ten years now and I’m constantly collecting logs and cutting them up, like you! Keep well mate!

Sorry mate, I've going fishing but not filming. Planning a trip to horseshoe lake for tench and carp in july. Only had 4 tench so far this year. All the best mate and tight lines.

I've not seen the drain recently mate and I'm no longer a member of the club that allegedly looks after things there. It was turning into a weak shadow of it's former self a few years ago. It certainly isn't the place I remember fishing when I was a teenager living in Haxey, push biking there with all my tackle slowly strangling me. Very sad but I'm afraid it's becoming all too common. I used to fish the river dove for barbel, you could go and bait a few swims in the evening and then sit back for an hour and you'd have barbel and chub rolling and flashing on the bottom. Then otters started to appear, now I can go to the same swims and bait up and see nothing, they've gone. I feel like bloody emigrating. Anyway it could be worse I suppose, sorry for the moan mate. @@fishermanchris4092 great reply never mind the moan bud , yes I wish I'd had a look before I bought the book as all I wanted to catch were tench , I want to catch a brute but they're a bit thin on the ground up here aren't they ,I'm considering going to try the moatlands lake on the reading book some time in the future yes a long way but have you seen the whackers mark erdwin catches absolute brutes

Get yourself to linear or join the carp society and go to horseshoe mate. I've caught loads of tench at linear just float fishing in the margins. Before I started my channel I was going twice a month in may and june. Our lass is from Oxford so it's like a second home to me. Had brace on oxlease lake 8lb 8oz and 8lb 10oz in two casts. When you've spent your life looking at 3 and 4 pounders from the warping drain it's jaw dropping getting a tench that size on the matt. I once watched a carp angler on hardwick/smiths returning what looked like a double without even weighing it. Must of been 9lb plus and then he said it was the second one that size he'd caught that morning. All the best mate.

@@fishermanchris4092 thanks for the info Chris I very much appreciate it bud sounds great ,I wish I'd have gone when I worked down there but spent my free time at northmoor lock on the Thames , never mind I shall give it some thought Chris I love the margins lift style centrepin fishing and to bag a beauty like that would be awesome I'm imagining the battle now 😁 , you're fortunate having the connection to that area beautiful as it is do you live there now , I was down there for years at Appleton farm near besselsleigh village loved it if I could afford to I'd move down that area , anyway thanks for the info Chris much obliged , shall look into it all 👍

Thank's Phil, hope you and your family are all doing good too. Not done a video since 2019. I have done a little fishing but I haven't filmed much at all. Going to make a big effort to get back into it this year mate, I lost a lot of motivation but I've joined a great new fishing club with some superb venues and I'm feeling much more enthusiastic about things. Hello Lee, sorry for not putting any videos up for so long. I was down in Oxford last week house sitting and looking after a boarding kennels with my partner. Managed a couple of Tench trips to Linear but blanked both times. Thinking about Barbel now but not until the weather has changed and we hopefully get some rain to top the rivers up. Tight lines buddy.

Thanks for letting me know Alan, I have the first week of may off work and was thinking about a trip down there. Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner mate, not been on here for a few days, been doing 12 hour shifts and working at home. Got some days off now so I'm going to start and sort through my tench gear, going to do another video as soon as I can, got a new centrepin and can't wait to have it screaming. @@fishermanchris4092 great news keep the vids coming I’ve been lucky I’ve got on two of the tench fishers fishins I’m on the manor farm one and also one in June on the bawbrough complex so have a reasonable chance of a good un tight lines pal

Anywhere on there really mate, it's all pretty peaceful. I don't think the fishing is as good as it was 20 plus years ago but it's a venue I'll always have a soft spot for. Tight lines mate.

@@fishermanchris4092 It's a lovely venue mate, most of the SAA venues are. I bought the book mainly for the barbel fishing on the trent but the WD and the north pond with the crucian carp in at yaddlethorpe have become some of my favourite venues! Hello Harry, hope you are well. I've done a little fishing mate but I haven't been videoing it which is a shame because I was fortunate to catch another river twenty pound pike just before Christmas. Determined to get out a lot more this year and hopefully some new waters to have a go at. I seem to have lost my mo jo with it all over the past two years. I had a wood burner fitted last spring and now my main pastime is chainsawing and splitting logs. I've got to get ready for the builder again now for another job in two weeks time, I always seem to have too much to do. All the best mate and stay safe, hopefully I'll have a new video to put up soon if I can remember how to use the camera, best of luck with any fishing you do Harry.

Thank's Sean and I hope your keeping well also. I've been bogged down with work on my cottage over the past 18 months mate. Had central heating replaced and a log burner and fireplace put in, next job is damp proofing and drywall insulation, then a new kitchen and bathroom so loads still to do. Doing loads of overtime to pay for it and I'm doing the prep work so fishing has had to take a back seat but I do have some footage to go through of some gravel pit tenching, I went twice last year and twice this year so I'll get that up as soon as I can mate. I ended up buying a Drennan x tension 12 ft 1.25 tc.happy with it.been getting some nice tench on it so far..they only go about 5lb here in ñ.ireland ..I'd never heard of the darent range unfortunately but il keep that in mind they v reasonably priced .keep the vids going you've a good way with it 👌

I had a little hemp with the casters mate yes, going Tench fishing at the end of April to a fantastic new venue so more videos to come in the next few weeks. All the best Craig and stay safe.

Never fished at Cundall Hall mate but I would think it's the same as other parts of the swale. As for tips I would try using a different bait to what everyone else is using. Try going old school and fish hemp and casters in a blockend feeder with casters on the hook. Classic combination that Barbel love mate. Use strong line, don't go lower than 12lb mainline, esp scynchro is good, as for hooklinks for hemp and caster I would use drennan supplex in 10lb. All the best.

Hello Alan, hope you are well too. Not been fishing for a while now due to the covid thing and the weather. Also been busy working, we were lucky at my work and have been very busy. I did buy some beachcasting gear and was going to do a couple of videos trying to catch a cod but injured my elbow and was unable to cast. Going to try and get out for a bit of piking mate when lockdown is eased. Hopefully before the rivers close. Got lots planned for this year fishing wise including a really good syndicate I've joined with Tench to 13lb and carp to 45lb, all the best mate, I'll be back.

Yes mate, joined a syndicate that has done tench to 13lb, it's not easy fishing but I do like a challenge, the only thing is i'll be mainly fishing for them with a three rod set up bolt feeder fishing with bite alarms. Turned to the dark side at last lol. I'm pretty certain I won't be able to resist getting the float rod and centrepin out though, that's my favourite method. Also there is carp to 45lb so a new adventure begins, all the best mate.

Thank you Alan that's very kind, I did do a little Tench fishing this year at a new syndicate venue, not been able to get out much due to covid and then a slipped disc. I was going to go beach fishing but I've now got an elbow problem and can't cast my beach rods. I'm saving the Tench footage I have till next year mate and I'll add it onto a video then, all the best mate.
