      Not as much as I did mate when I was editing it, and my mates (well I say mates) at work. Thanks for your comment John and tight lines.

    Comedy gold. The fall in was good, but your reaction to it was excellent.
    Thank goodness you were OK. Really great videos .....keep em coming.

    Love the videos Chris, especially this one, it does highlight the potential dangers of fishing and the need for youngsters to learn how to swim. I'm in my senior years with poor mobility on land but at least I can swim. Love your honesty and fish care skills, its a shame others don't adopt the same policy. Keep the vids coming, tight lines.... Wigster

      Thank's Wigster, had trouble pulling my carcass out due to an undercut bank (and packing too much corn) but it gave me a giggle when I watched it back when editing so included it on the vid. Thank's for your comment mate and tight lines.

    I love your videos Chris, keep them coming! You took a right ducking on the Dove but you took it in good part. Pity because that Dove swim looked a real beauty. Best wishes. Harry Turner

    Great video again. I went in a couple of years ago while bait dropping. The final clip looks alot like Fiskerton/Rolliston, my fav stretch on the Trent.

      Cheers Luke, I'm hoping to get Tench fishing next weekend to a syndicate I've joined so with a bit of luck I'll have a new video up within the next few weeks. Also I've been setting myself up for beach fishing as I only live an hour from the coast, will try a video on that so you will be able to give me a few tips if you could. All the best mate.

      Fisherman Chris look forward to that video. Just joined SAA this season and done warping, witham, idle, south clifton and on route today to girton/dunham.
      If you fancy a session on the Holderness coast give me a shout 👍 tight lines

      @@lukepicken Thank's a lot Luke, thinking of going Bass fishing in a few weeks, I bought a pair of 11ft 9inch fox heavy dead bait pike rods second hand for £60, had them 2 years and not used them. I think they would be fine for Bass, you don't need to cast far for them so I'm told, best of luck mate.

      Fisherman Chris sure they’ll do the job. Get yourself some fresh yellowtail worms and im sure youll get a fish it two depending on conditions. Good luck

    I hope you fished the margin after dumping all that bait in there ! Great videos love the Barbel runs they have some serious power. I recently caught my first Barbel just over 4 lb ( still water mind you ) and when it took off I thought I hooked a passing car ! gave me cracking fight on 6 lb mono and a 1000 reel. I was lift float fishing triple red maggot for perch so you can imagine my surprise.

    Hi Chris. Great videos and lovely fish. Falling into some of the Swale pegs would have serious consequences especially when on your own.

      Yes mate, almost did the day I caught my big Swale pike, 9ft deep off the rod tip, thinking about getting a self inflating life jacket, they're not cheap but what price do you put on your life.

    I'm planning a trip to the river Wye this year boss 5 hr drive from Scotland lol but might stop at the Swale after watching this vid lol I speak to an old character that's a regular on the Swale and he was a great help for me tackling Scottish barbel

  • @robertmoore2402
    @robertmoore2402 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    So jealous mate my nearest river for barbel is a good 90 mins drive and in the south we need rain badly ,but that's top angling and film work

    • @fishermanchris4092
      @fishermanchris4092  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate, 90 mins drive isn't that bad. If you just go fishing once a week or sometimes fortnight like me what's a 90 min drive, you only live once bud. My nearest barbel venue is an hour away, some are closer to two hours. If I go to the Wye it's three hours and a b&b, or sleep in the car. All the best mate.

    great vid chris! im looking to renew my barbel kit' what alarms' rods n reels are you using in this?

    • @fishermanchris4092
      @fishermanchris4092  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rods in this vid are no longer available I'm sorry to say mate, they're 13ft Wychwood Maximiser big river barbel rods comprising of a butt and two different strength top sections, 2lb and 2.5lb tc. My reels are Daiwa Emcast 5000 bait runners loaded with 15lb line and the alarms are pro logic models with the same brand of snag bars. If I was after a pair of rods for the Trent now I would probably go for Drennan Martin Bowler Big River Barbel rods, 12ft and 2.25lb tc. Like my Wychwoods they have big eyes to let debris that collects on the line pass through, although this is mostly a problem in winter when weed starts to die off. I'm planning on some new alarms and will probably opt for Nash siren r3's, fed up with getting budget alarms and then wishing I had bought some proper ones. Better to buy quality first time because it ends up being cheaper in the long run. Thanks for your comment Lee and tight lines.

    Chris love the fact that on the tidal Trent you don't know what's coming next,proper Unknown fishing,what rods do you use on the tidal mate ?

    • @fishermanchris4092
      @fishermanchris4092  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello John, the rods I have been using in the vids are Wychwood Maximiser big river Barbel. They are 13 feet long and two piece comprising of a butt section and two different strength top sections, one is 2lb tc and the other is 2.5lb tc. I mainly use the 2.5lb top on the tidal with a 4oz groundbait feeder or 5oz if there is a bit of extra water on. They sound very powerful compared to what you would use on a small river but they get a lovely bend in them even with a modest sized barbel on.

    make yourself a bank rope ------ 16 ft builders 3 cord orange or blue nylon rope --- tie12 in long loop on one end --- down length about every 12 in make a loop and pass end twice through this makes a figure 8 knot---- when tight it allows rope to hang straight----- repeat down to end - trim and melt end with lighter to stop fraying ----- anchor to fence post --- trees --- strong bank stick knocked well into ground {lean 45 deg away from water------ safe fishing

    • @fishermanchris4092
      @fishermanchris4092  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your advice Mike, going to do something because I almost fell in the Swale last winter and it was 9 feet deep off my rod tip, probably wouldn't of got out.

  • @miketooze878
    @miketooze878 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    cheers chris --- you may want to make bank anchor rope using --- power cord --- very strong -- soft --- rolls to small bundle ---you know wot --- you could add it to the end of your next vid --- using comment --- do you lot re-call me slipping into river ---- then take bunch of 7mm power cord from wherever --- and make one up on cam --- finish with comment 4-5 mins effort --- years of safety
