My prefered loadout for the Shadowhawk ditches the LRM and ammo for an LBX-10 in place of the AC-5, and drops the random extra heat sink for an extra ton of ammo to keep it at 20 shots. Preferably 10 normal 10 cluster. You end up with a weird side-grade Centurion, with one less laser and no LRM, but gaining jump jets, the Battlefist quirk for better melee, and an SRM 2 to compliment the cluster rounds for crit-fishing. Is it good? Honestly not really, could definitely take better things for the BV, but its better. And better is good enough for me to field one of my favorite looking mechs.

Mechs are not practical war machines unless you have some gimmick like force fields that can’t be used on low to the ground vehicles.

With the release of MW5:Clans, I decided to finally finish my MW5:Mercs campaign. And wouldnt you know it, I have a lance of Black Knights. Going to do up a Slime variant and go to town.

Enjoyed this quite a bit lol. Though I wish that it was all the revamped and updated/modernized designs and design concepts and not a lot of of the old goofy FASA or FASA esq designs. Or at least a lot of them looked like they came from the FASA era of BT ownership. I get it, some of them don't have an updated or revamped design ie. the Bombardier. But there are quite a few that the original concept wouldn't be touched these days versus the modern concept. Like the Archer. Love the mech and it's modernized designs but knowing what the original designs looked like I wouldn't want the old designs even if they performed well. But a number of others had modern designs like the Archer as well but showed the old designs in the vid. Like the Gladiator, Hatamoto, and the Mauler. Especially the Mauler since you both instantly went for the Warhammer but not the Mualer but I bet you both would of went for the modern Mauler design that resembles a bigger upgunned Warhammer.

You should never use the Warhammer alone and you should certainly not use it in a close range brawl. My fave config was to drop the MG;s and ammo, drop the S lasers, beat any incoming Mech down with the PPC and finish him with te M-lasers and SRM6 IF they even made it that close .

Reject balance, Embrace the meme. Field all Urban-Mechs, Chargers, Bombardiers, and Fleas.

I just started, I looked over all the mech my LGS had and made the obvious choice and got four urbanmechs.

Omni technology within the BT universe is more about the speed and ease of switching weapons and equipment of a mech. The modular design allows the engineers and mechanics to "plug and play" different weapons and equipment in a fraction of the time an IS equivalent job. No major teardowns and retrofitting is required with omni technology. Weapons "pods" can be removed in a maintenance area allowing damaged weapons and equipment to be switched out in a matter of hours or days rather than IS weeks and months.

...With its wide variety of weapons, you really can't go wrong with the Warhammer. ...A custom variant I used for brawling dropped the Machine Guns & ammo for a pair of rear-firing Medium Lasers. This refit also replaced the SRM-6 & ammo with 4 additional Medium Lasers. Finally, it swapped the PPCs for Large Lasers, adding 1 extra Heat Sink & 3 more tons of armor. My greatest success with that refit was the time I was able to 1v1 a Battlemaster & come out victorious! ...Keep up the good work.

Just found your channel, and its got some great information, especially for newer players. I know multiples of the same chassis are not the best for lance design most of the time but it does fit for more Great House themed forces. Less for mercs though.
