Something very different than my normal stuff. This goes over my workflow of how to render a car into a backplate generated by an AI app. I used Midjourney for this but anything works.

Interesting workflow, thanks for sharing. I was wondering if it's the norm for you to not do any tonemapping to the render inside 3ds max, or that was just for this quick draft render?
really cool! Would be awesome to see the workflow in corona as well!
Love this keep them coming !!!
Great tutorial! I have been waiting for it for a long time, thanks for sharing your secrets. This is a great christmas gift thanks!!!
Great Sergey!!! We need more Viedos of course, with all respect for your time.
Good stuff! Have you ever used ai the other way around? like having a 3d environment and using ai to enhance it. Would be cool to see a video on that, maybe using 3d from the mountain road video
Funny you mention this. I actually did a book cover project not long ago and rendered what was needed, then used AI to take the CGI foundation and enchance it. Worked out very well actually. Its very cool to see what AI can do to take something to the next level while keeping foundation the same.
Love this :D haha...
@@FerryPasschier 😂😂
Sergey the master at work…even if a little tipsy 😂. More of these sessions please. As a Maya vray user it’s still great to see an insight into your workflow. Great as always and happy Xmas 👍
@@andrewotter8163 hahahaha. Appreciate the kind words. Merry Christmas my friend!
Thanks for the quick session :). Do you render in Aces? In maya it's now the default color space and the default for vray. I hate the way it crushes the image, even though it's the "filmic" look that everyone goes on about.. I find for still shots for cars it doesnt look natural and forces me into undoing the crush in post, what are your feelings on it?
@@nasgeorgellis1409 nope. I just use the old traditional color space. If it aint broke dont fix it type of logic 😂
bro we need your car materials
@@Alakia tbh they are nothing special at all!
Thank you for such a great tutorial
“Had a few drinks tonight” 😂 thanks for another video!
🤣🤣
thank you , one that is not in hindi
🤣🤣🤣
great knowledge
With all due respect, Sergey, and if you don't mind, we want an tutorial on how to create a complete environment for cars, such as mountains and trees. Thank you again, you are the best!
Ohh ofcorse. Totally understand this request! Those tutorials are def more invovled than a quick 10-30min video lol.
Thanks dude!
is there a discord?
There is an automotivecgi discord. Its not my discord and I do not manage it, but there is one.
@@AutomotiveCGI link please? thank you!
Genius! 💪🏻
THE RETURN OF THE KING
You are on a roll with the great content bro, keep it up!
I need to keep thinking of ideas lol
Maybe a highway setup or a rolling chase cam kinda thing, like the stuff you do in your reels.
Thanks a lot for tips, If I may ask what would you recommend for the Terrain or the environment?
So for my actual project project I started off with a dirt type map. Then I did multiple blends of random grass textures, rocks, etc.. Just to give it some breakup. Afterwards I started to scatter CG assets using forest pack. Near the edges of the road I focused on higher quality assets and various things like sticks, grass, rocks, etc.. Then about 40' away I just would add bushes and such. And then the further away I went I would just add lower res bushes and such but still enough to help break up details in distance to still help add realism and break up terrain with actual 3d shapes vs just a texture map. Its sadly a lot of work to scatter all things but def worth it in the end. Hope this helps.
So many new videos! Thank you so much for making this stuff! It really helps me making my automotive renders 🙏🏻
Just thought id throw out some new content. Its nothing crazy but hopefully little snippets of info that can help others.
Another interesting thing to show and it can be a quick video, is how much faster it is to render with a small render farm. There’s not much out there that shows what happens, maybe 3/4 videos at most and not really anything relatable. A quick Timelapse of a single machine rendering 1/2 shots and another one with all the machines rendering just to compare speeds IRL. Most people like me, new artist don’t have a definitive idea of how much better it is (in percentage of time, for example).
So Bruno the issue comes down to what your render node specs are and how many you have. All that comes down to how much $$$$ you wanna spend lol. So that topic is not very accurate to anybody since its always a matter of person setup. Hope this makes sense?
@@AutomotiveCGI It makes all the sense.
Great piece of info, very useful man. Thank you!
Сергей, большое вам спасибо за видео, вы очень помогаете со своими уроками! Пожалуйста, продолжайте!
No Problem! 🙌
Ha didn't know you could use the cryptomatte as a mask directly in the VFB
haha yea same here. My buddy Christ Storey showed me that trick years ago. Its amazing to do adjustments within VFB, I wish After Effects had a way to use them but so far everything I have tried no matter what tutorial I follow it simply doesnt work. But that method sure beats creating alphas, esp for full cgi enviornments lol. I have done a few tv endframe jobs where I used it to adjust saturation of grass and trees in background based on clients request, worked amazing.
Great for beginners! Please continue this topic.
Have you tried FStorm Render?
I have a long time ago. Because my render farm for my company is all CPU based and I have many nodes, I cannot afford to invest time and money into switching render engines.
Thanks, please more videos about Automotive CGI
I would but only so many topics to cover since they are all the same and all covered lol.
thank u so much Sergey we hope We hope that you will make videos with Vray like Corona :)

And what about V-Ray in Maya?
Great stuff!
Great! Thanks
Yes! Great tip. I was using your first approach also, until now
You are the best man, always coming up with amazing stuff to share that you can't find anywhere.
Glad it can be useful information!
Genius, thanks for that!
Thanks Bro
The dots in the motion path should be similar to After Effects and it's showing where the object would be on each frame while tweening. Great tips and shortcuts!
where I can get the light from this scene ?
hi why do u change light units to watts
God ! I've been trying to understand why it's not working for me for 30 minutes. And that's just because I set the ground to 0 RGB and that completely disables the solution. You really don't have to use pure black as you said very well in the video! Put 6 RGB or more :)
Very interesting approach! There is also a plugin called Thin Film, which produces similar results ;)
Carbon fiber is in the plastics section. Nice tutorial dude!
Not in the version he is using 😅
"idc i want caustics" realest shit i have heard XD
what was it you used for the hero mountain? view? is that what you said?
