My 1990 Mazda B2200 Gets New Wheels
มุมมอง 17K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I install 90s American racing gambler wheels that I restored on my 1990 Mazda B2200 #mazda #minitruck #wheels
what have you done with the rear suspension to get that height? and what are your wheel specs? id love to set mine up like yours
4" blocks in the rear, wheels are 15x8 -17 offset, tires are 215/60/r15. i have a video installing the lowering blocks
I have a 91 Mazda b2200 when you bought your swaybar did it come with the swaybar links and the bushings for it..or did you have to order those separate from the swaybar...
i had a mazda B2200 extra cab your mistake was not to replace both sides at the same time if you had unbolted and change out both side before bolt and replace both side before bolting them back up then you would not have that problem on the other side to line and have it sit on the lowering block then on the driver side of truck that is how i did it with my mazda back in the day you you could have bought the truck new. one other thing i found out over time like a year maby two the rear seal of the trans had started to leak a little because after it was lowered when you go over bumps the rear end would mover the drive line further into the rear of transmission hitting the rear seal. i took my truck to a drive line shop and talked with them what was going on and they said it was so i ask if adding a slip yoke of the rear end to the drive line would stop that to happen they said it would help back then it did not cost that much. if i was you before you rear transmission seal starts to go bad and talk with them to see what they say about it.
Why does it need to be angled blocked
non angled blocks can cause vibration from your driveshaft, basically the input and output angles of the driveshaft need to be similar and the angled blocks help keep the angle similar
I couldn't see how you dealt with those metal pipes which run from the exhaust manifold to front of carb housing. How did you plug the holes on the manifold?
i didnt plug the holes, i replaced the manifold with a stainless steel header prior to this video
What happens if you run it without the breather filter?
debris will get in your oil, not good in the long run and its like $10 to buy
I love these videos so much. Have you thought about doing any driving videos and photoshoots/static videos
i have actually! i have plans to do some more cinematic content this spring/summer time
So glad I've found your channel. I bought my 1st CabPlus new in '87. Drove it 14 years until it blew it's second head gasket. Although I'm partial to the '95-97 2.3L Rangers, I ran up on a deal I couldn't pass up on a '91 B2600i 4x4. I found your channel searching for content on the older B-Series Mazdas. I think you're making Great content. I love that your Dad is working with you too. Keep on trucking, kid!
Sweet, planning on getting one soon. The front sway bar from belltech works great. And you said the rear end wants to cause some oversteer, planning on swapping the factory wheels and tires from a 205/75/14 to a 225/45/17, hopefully it helps with grip.👍
225 width tires should work awesome with this, i have 215s and you saw how oversteery it was in just light rain so the more grip you can get the better
I swapped my indicators and corner lights as soon as I got my b2000 home. I think indicators anywhere other than right on the outside is a silly design choice.
@BlueB2200 u have a good upgrade of the sylvania led. If it ls the one with a small little heatsink, those are good upgrade, or if it’s a sylvania zevo led. Those are better option. Yes they are dimmer than stock but that how they suppose to function. 0.4W dim, and 1.5W bright. In my application, these are the best zevo 7443R upgrades ever. On my 2015 lifted xB, my family’s 2016 Toyota Sienna LE, and my brother in law’d 2005 Toyota Sienna, are upgraded with sylvania zevo. Two 7443R and 1157R. They may not be the brightest but they are not supposed to be, it’s made for to last the life of the vehicle, they mimick the dim and bright function compare to cheap unbranded led and they are bad. If u had chrome reflector bowl shape tail lights, u will know they are bright for zevo line up. But Auxito led bulbs much nicer upgrade. Definitely much brighter for ur application.
I would still upgrade with led flasher relay anyways. Just for the long run.
why? there is no point, a load resistor delivers the same exact results
@@Blue_B2200 oh I know it does. But the reason I say that is because with older vehicles. U can run incandescent bulbs, or led bulbs with no hyperflash. Since u chose led bulb with built-in resistor is a sweet pure plug and play. When u have led flasher relay. U can still run a led bulb with built-in resistor. Not just for the heck of it. But the fact they design these led bulbs with built-in resistors are super bright. U want the brightest led turn signals for ur truck. 21W-30W led bulbs is still a thing when u have led flasher relay. It’s just personal preference and it’s awesome. Sounds silly but hey. That’s what I do lol
U truly getting ur money’s worth on Auxito automotive led lighting upgrades. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 especially their customer service is awesome. Just ask @AUXITOLED they been very good to me and I highly recommend them.
What you can do with the corner lights is replace the sockets for the bulbs with dual contact sockets and install switchback LEDs so they act as park lights and indicators And then on what were originally the indicators you can either put more switchback bulbs or just put white bulbs It would look kinda like fog lamps xD I did that with my Isuzu pickup because the location of the indicators are so back in these older pickups
converting your corners to turn signals might be a good idea, thats what im doing on the 620 when I get the laurel markers
first thing i did with my b2000 once i got home.
Super hype to get these on my truck soon 🎉
man , you'll never know i was about to upgrade these on mines...lol
Damn, those look awesome.

Perfect timing, I just snagged an old B2200 and the reverse lights are not working. LED, here we go.
I hope you set bearing preload
Is 2° the usual go to for these? Ive got straight 4" blocks and can easily make up some shims. Ive seen some people say 4° shims. Ive got a 2 piece driveshaft if that matters.
2° is going to be perfectly fine for a 4" drop, now if you were combining it with something like a monoleaf then i would say 4° would be better, also having the two piece driveshaft gives you a little more flexibility
Jealous of the truck dude! Really nice 👍
Great job ! This is one of the best Weber conversion videos I've seen.
Great video man, just got my first b2200 and gonna start doing some qork on it. Wondering what your wheel setup is?
15x8 -17 or 0 offset not sure which, tires are 215/60/r15
Unfortunately, here in texas, that red bulb would get me pulled over in about 45 seconds. But, my question is, did you have to install a ballast for the led headlights?
nope no ballast, just plug and play! also it should be perfectly legal throughout the US as a number of production cars use clear lenses with red bulbs (lexus rx330 for example)
@Blue_B2200 That's awesome. Texas state inspectors don't allow red bulbs unless they came stock. Unless you know a cool inspector that'll pass anything for a case of modelo beer. Haha. But texas is doing away with vehicle inspection after this year anyway. Thanks for the answer.
@Blue_B2200 here in S. Florida you gotta have some sort of red reflector otherwise it's a ticket. Ask me how I know. 😆 Led red bulbs look way better than the pait, plus the bulbs won't get as hot and shorter the life of them. Find a older Toyota 4 runner chrome front end and your truck will break some necks. 😉
@mrdee423 i ended up swapping to led bulbs at a later date but didnt have any on hand at the time, definitely look a lot better and the painted ones faded over time
Bro, thank you so much. This is a great video. You said what you were doing and why you were doing it. And then you showed how to do it. Concise and to the point. There are so many videos where the guy rambles on for 45 minutes about shit not even related to the work. New sub here. Thanks man.
Did you have th buy the bushings separately and the rods that they ride on( or did you reuse stock ones). What would I search for would I just search poly bushings on Ebay?
if you buy the sway bar kit it comes with all new bushings!
Love it bro keep at it 😎🔥👍
Bro i love your vids!! w mans
whats your wheel setup?? the brands of them?
eagle alloy 054, 15x8 -17 offset
Is it half an inch lower with both ball joints flipped? I flipped the top and bottom and it seems to have give me a full inch and a half lower but I do have DJM 3inch lowered control arms maybe that’s why. I have 4 inch blocks in the back and want to match the front with the same amount of lowered as the back
yes its half an inch lower with both flipped, though the only one that matters for ride height is the lower ball joint and the amount of lowering is determined by the thickness of the lower arm. since youre running djm lower arms there is a possibility they use thicker metal on the ball joint mount and as such you would get more lowering. flipping the upper ball joint is only done to retain correct suspension geometry
Big thing- make sure you match the front & rear rates so they work together. Too much in the rear and you'll understeer, too much in the front & you'll get oversteer. Everybody thinks "Bigger is better" in regards to size & spring rate, but you have to not over do it.
this is a little different because its a truck its already very front heavy so the rear sway bar doesnt need to be nearly as stiff as the front. also you have it backwards, a stiffer rear bar will make you oversteer and a stiffer front bar will make you understeer
@@Blue_B2200 You're correct, I back-asswarded that. My point was that people tend to pick sway bars like they go about lowering and/or picking wheels & tires. They just think "More is better," "Stiffer is better," "Lower is better," or "Wider is better...." and they utterly screw it up. Their vehicle is twitchy, rides like a conveyor belt, and slides all over. It actually makes the vehicle comically worse. Rain/snow/ice, imperfect roads, curves, corners, and chassis rigidity (or non-rigidity) will 'find a way' in the real world.
@olikat8 oh yeah for sure, the Belltech sway bars are the only ones available for this truck and they are non adjustable and only come in 1" diameter front and .75" diameter rear and i feel like having both is a big help but just adding the rear is too much without the bigger front bar in the first place
@@Blue_B2200 I run an old domestic compact sedan- it has a lot of chassis stiffening, tweaked Borgeson box, SPC fully adjustable UCAs', 1.08" torsion bars, 12" front rotors & 11.25" rear rotors....but I know Peter Bergman and I listened to what he had to say on this build. I never ignore what people like him say in regards to their expertise. Funny thing? Even the exhaust was done by an on-staff engineer who learned exhaust from old man Bassani (Bassani Xhaust). It is the funniest old Valiant
Awesome video, surprised you don’t have more subscribers
appreciate it man! slowly working on making my way up but im honestly incredibly happy with what ive achieved so far
Bump stops are working😅
ผมชอบเลยครับ ❤
I had one of these way back in 2003. It was rusted to hell but I loved that little truck .👍🏼
Keep a look out for a lowered red Mazda like yours, I’m usually cruising up and down that road
i use to touge my b2200 best handling truck !
I would highly recommend getting the belltech street performance shocks they make a huge difference, love the vids!

just got me a mazda not too long ago definitely going to do this soon
Nicely done!
Yoo!!! Been watching your videos since a couple days, love your truck and vids yo! Keep up the good work
Never clicked so fast 😂
This video has been very helpful to us. The shorter bolts (3 of them) for the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) cover that we got from our local hardware store, and worked perfectly are size M6 x 12 (metric of course). To make the cover plate we also used an angle grinder then a bench grinder to finish, on 1/16 inch thick stainless steel.
What type of wheel and tire set up do you have ? I love it
Chulada como quedó la radio
