looks great man and props for not hiring it out as a man those are good skills to learn and yeah its tough but you get the satisfaction of doing it yourself and having a project with your dad (even if dads can be hard to work with lol) even if you didnt have fun youll have the good memories as you get older. looks great how did it last?

If I were you, I'd paint also the top ridge corners of the flatbed, just like the plastic cover covers. I am building a car similar to yours, the difference is that mine's a Ford Courier UF, very similar to your Mazda. It is planned to do some hard work such as carrying goods on rough terrains. I was planning to put on a plastic cover, but for the last two weeks I have thoughts of putting on that kind of layer. I have doubts if it gets scratched from plastic crates, barrels and wooden or metal pallets that this car will be loaded...

I've hauled plenty of stuff in my truck with this from furniture to large organs (the instrument), the only thing thats had an effect on it was when I put wheels in my bed and they slid around and hit the side, that and just plain using sand paper on it. my bedliner started chipping after about 6 months tho but i believe thats just due to the fact that my prep work wasnt as good as it shouldve been.

I would even spray the inside of the tailgate to prevent any rust on it or rust to form inside it.

i wouldve done that but i didnt wanna bother taking the hinge mechanism out in order to do that, plus very little water gets in and even if it does the tailgate has drains that let water out from the bottom when its vertical, all up to personal preference though

@@Blue_B2200 I use to own a 1988 Mazda truck to, and I loved that truck, very, very much. It was a regular cab truck because I always go for regular cab trucks.
