    FL, Pro-business/anti-consumer, De-regulation, No State income tax means no money to pay for infrastructure to minimize hurricanes impacts. GOP controlled state, insane HOA fees, $100,000 condo tax, high insurance, 2/3 of condos are 30 yr or older, not built to code that we have today, Gators in every swimming pool/lake and of course the best part hurricanes. The land of the idiots. Please stay in FL and don't contaminate/infect other states with your Idiocacity. When I hear Floridians cry or are surprised when their homes are flooded, are you living in fantasy in you own mind, when has FL never been hit by a hurricane or tropical storm? yea I'm sorry you lost you home but it was your choice to live in a FEMA state.

      You're absolutely right! Florida's climate can vary quite a bit depending on where you are in the state. The southeast coast has that warm, tropical feel that so many people love, but it can definitely get crowded, especially in popular areas. It's great to hear that you've been enjoying the area since 1975-there's so much to love about living in Florida, but it's important for people to know that the experience can be different depending on where they choose to settle. Florida is miserably hot and sauna-like for 8 months of the year. Rain will make a 94 degree day with 80% humidity go down to 89 degrees with 100% humidity. I save $6500 a year in state income tax from my previous state of California. You are seconds from water because of ponds, lakes, and retention ponds. Florida is a great place if you're a palm tree. The only alligator I've seen in 5 years is a dead one that got run over on a highway off ramp. Traffic around Disney is a pain in the ass. Jobs in Florida pay a lot less than states like California and New York. Home prices are equal to most other states, unaffordable. Florida has some of the most insane driving habits and the people are generally not friendly.

    2/3 of FL condos are 30 year old, these were not built to code that we have now. That is a red flag!. There are not enough inspectors to check every property in. You'll likely need structural repair, not just cosmetic but 'hey you're living in a death trap you're putting you life at risk'. who wants to live in a home that will later be a coffin?

The bugs, heat, HOA fees, insurance costs, and building assessments can definitely be challenging, especially for those on a fixed income. Florida isn't for everyone, and it's important to weigh all these factors before making a decision. Dear Veronica (or anyone else), I am 68 and my wife is 57. We are looking for a resident owned community somewhere from as far north as Dunedin and as far south as Sarasota. Our situation is that we have permanent guardianship of or 19yo autistic daughter. We would be living there for 3-4 months per year. Any suggestions of a community that would allow us to live there? Also, do you know of any Florida anti-discrimination laws that allow exceptions for seniors with underage disabled adults to be with them in 55+ communities? Finally, are there any family friendly communities that are as nice as some of the nicest 55+ communities? Thank you in advance, Dan

    • @VeronicaEdwards50
      @VeronicaEdwards50 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Dan, Thank you for your comment and for sharing your situation. I'd be happy to help! There are several resident-owned communities along Florida's west coast that could be a great fit for you and your family. Communities from Dunedin down to Sarasota offer a range of options, and some may be flexible in their 55+ age restrictions, particularly given your unique circumstances. Florida does have fair housing laws that prohibit discrimination based on familial status, which includes situations like yours. While many 55+ communities have strict age rules, there can sometimes be exceptions for caregivers or guardians of disabled adults. It’s best to inquire directly with each community to understand their policies and whether they are willing to accommodate your family. As for family-friendly communities that are comparable to 55+ communities, there are some great all-ages mobile home parks and manufactured home communities in Florida that offer excellent amenities. These communities often have a mix of younger families and retirees, which could provide a wonderful environment for you, your wife, and your daughter. I'd be happy to assist you further with specific community recommendations based on your preferences. Please feel free to reach out directly if you’d like to explore this more in-depth. Wishing you all the best in finding the perfect place! Warm regards, Veronica

    Everyone in florida sells real estate... As a matter of fact, there are more licensed realtors than there are actual listings in the state... Florida is in the subtropics. The natives get it and you never hear them complain. Its the transplants than can't handle it. its also the transplants that buy up homes in flood zones and dont understand the true meaning of the 1,000 year flood zone line. Hint: It doesn't mean it will be 1,000 years before you get flooded....

It’s so important for people moving here to understand the unique challenges of living in Florida, from weather to real estate markets. I don't know if this is still true, but when my sister worked for the FDIC she said banks don't hold on to mortgages, they sell them on the secondary market to hedge funds and private investors. Because of that I joined a whole lot of note buyers pages and news letters, so far none of the very small banks in my area are selling non performing notes to people like me because they bundle them all up and like my sister said the big banks do and sell them on the secondary market around 90 days after close.

    • @VeronicaEdwards50
      @VeronicaEdwards50 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You're absolutely right! Most banks do sell mortgages on the secondary market, which is why we see hedge funds and private investors holding a significant portion of these notes. It’s all part of their risk management strategy. Bundling non-performing loans is a common practice, especially for larger banks, and it makes it tough for smaller investors to get access. It’s great that you’re staying informed through note buyer pages and newsletters-being ahead of the game is key in this market! Thanks for sharing your insights!

      Thank you for sharing! As a former resident of 28 years, you must have a lot of insights about Daytona Beach. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the pros and cons I mentioned in the video. Feel free to share your experiences!

      Thank you for your comment! I believe it's important to provide a balanced view so people can make informed decisions. Florida has its pros and cons, just like anywhere else. My goal is to help my clients find the place that's truly right for them. Thanks for your support 🤗

    Good information I predict there’s gonna be a mass exodus selling condos and wealthy investors will come in and scoop up prime real estate bulldoze, and build up high and expensive condos.

      Thank you for your comment! The trend you're predicting is something we're definitely seeing signs of in the market. Many owners are struggling with the financial burden of these special assessments, which can lead to a wave of sales. Wealthy investors do have the opportunity to acquire these properties and redevelop them, which could significantly change the landscape of these areas. It's a situation with both challenges and opportunities, and it's important for current and prospective condo owners to stay informed and prepared. Let's see how this unfolds over the next few months.

      Thank you for reaching out and considering Florida for your next home. Unfortunately, I specialize in sales rather than rentals, so I’m unable to assist you directly with finding a rental property. However, I can suggest a few resources that might help you in your search: Local Property Management Companies: They often have rental listings and can provide assistance in finding a suitable place within your budget. Online Rental Platforms: Websites like Zillow, Apartments.com, and Rent.com have extensive listings that you can filter based on your needs. Local Social Services: They might offer assistance programs for individuals with disabilities and those on a fixed income. Florida Housing Search: This is a state-run website that helps people find affordable rental housing. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck in your search for a new home in Florida! ~Veronica
