* things I don't Do * thanks Veronica I am 59 years old and most of the time its my perception, what I think I "SHOULD" do ... I call BS. I quit the corporate world after kicking cancers a$$ 6 years ago. I get you girl, I can relate. I too have a second chance at life, I'm going to live it on my own terms. I really don't care what others think. Stop judging and criticizing me, worry about your own self. haha I've been married for 33 years ... sometimes the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence. You go girl.
Wow, what an inspiring message-thank you for sharing your journey with us! It sounds like you’ve faced some tough challenges and come out stronger on the other side. That's fantastic to hear! Congratulations on your retirement and enjoying a well-deserved relaxing lifestyle. It's always uplifting to see others thriving and finding joy in their choices. Thank you for sharing your positive experience-it's truly inspiring! May you continue to enjoy every moment of your journey.
When I trained and qualified to be a nutritionist, I learnt all about endocrine disruptors. At the time I just started perimenopause and I stopped using a lot of the beauty products and toiletries that I used to use. To this day I use minimal products and only wear make-up when I really need to 😊
That’s a great point! It’s impressive how your training in nutrition led you to make such mindful choices about beauty products and toiletries, especially during such a pivotal time as perimenopause. Using minimal products can be a wonderful way to keep things simple and focus on what truly works for your body and health. It’s always inspiring to hear how people apply their knowledge to make positive changes in their lives. Thank you for sharing your experience, and keep doing what feels best for you! 😊
Good stuff!! I'm down to 15 hrs per week and I work from home. Next June I'm going to retire at 59. I'm done. I have heard quite a few negative comments like "so you're going to sit on the couch all day waiting to die?" 🙄. I have so many hobbies. Some quiet and crafty. Others are active, outdoor pursuits. I look forward to picking the best weather days of the week for kayaking (ultimately, it's my work days). I am married and enjoy my husband's company, I'm also independent and enjoy my friends and hobbies. Be free and happy.
That sounds like a fantastic plan for retirement! It’s great that you’re already setting yourself up with a balance of work and personal time as you transition. Don’t let the negative comments get you down-people often project their own fears and misunderstandings about retirement. It sounds like you have a rich and active lifestyle lined up, with plenty of hobbies to keep you engaged and fulfilled. Kayaking on the best weather days sounds like a dream! Traveling solo is my mojo. Thoroughly enjoy the time embracing the planning and arriving at the destination. So many vistas to explore - being fearful is not what promotes confidence.
Absolutely love your outlook! Traveling solo really does open up a world of opportunities to explore and grow. Fearlessness and confidence go hand in hand, and it sounds like you've mastered the art of adventurous living. Great video! I’m similar to you in my mindset. I’m 59 - divorced since 2004…am tired of people projecting what is right for THEM onto ME… I’m living alone..not lonely. Also, I’m going to retire in two years and sell my unnecessarily large home for a very small traditional home or even a tiny home. The flack I get for that is unreal! I’m not interested in keeping a large - a lot of work to maintain - home simply because that’s what retired people do! No…I want a home I can clean in 1 hour - not five hours. I want to lock up and travel - solo - as you do! I have a small circle of friends who recognize how happy I am living solo…and then I have a few who have decided it’s “sad” for me to be all alone. They have no idea how freeing it is to do as I please and not deal with drama. I’m happy! Also like you, I survived cancer (breast) and have been in remission since 2021. I think life changing events make us survivors (of any major health crisis) take on a mindset of LIVING LIFE because we’ve been given a second chance to do so! The cancer has given me the wisdom to embrace life and not be bothered by what others feel I should do with my remaining years. So glad I found your channel! You are the kind of gal I would enjoy calling a friend. Stay well! 💜
What an empowering message-thank you for sharing your story with such openness! It's inspiring to hear how you've embraced your independence and are making choices that truly make you happy, especially after overcoming something as challenging as cancer. Your perspective on living life on your own terms, from choosing a smaller home to traveling solo, resonates deeply. It's wonderful to hear that you have a supportive circle of friends who understand your happiness. Remember, only you know what's best for your life and your joy. I cannot believe people in your life are upset with you for downsizing and living alone. I bet they envy you just for being you. When I watch van life people on YT, commenters always say, "I wish I could do what you're doing." There's a clue right there.
That's wonderful news about your husband's upcoming retirement! Congratulations to him, and thank you for the kind wishes on mine. May you both enjoy this new chapter to the fullest-here's to many happy and fulfilling days ahead! 😊
Don't pay attention to other's opinions of how you should live your life. It's YOUR life not theirs. Everyone likes to judge other peoples' lives. You cannot control other people, you can only control yourself. I'm 59 and stopped looking for a partner 9 years ago. Not interested, I gave all that up. I have inner peace. I grew up with the expectation I HAD to get married by my parents. WHY because society tells you to? Marriage works for some people but not for everyone. Many married people are not happy. My neighborhood is all divorced women in their 50's, 60's and 70's. All of them said they have no interest in marriage anymore.
Thank you so much for sharing your perspective. It’s refreshing to hear from someone who truly understands the importance of living life on one's own terms. Like you, I believe in making choices that bring us peace and happiness, regardless of societal expectations or pressures. It's inspiring to hear how you've found inner peace by embracing your individual path. Let's keep celebrating our journeys and supporting each other in choosing what feels right for us. Cheers to living authentically!
59 here, married for over 30 years. Lost my husband 5 years ago, now single. There were aspects about my marriage that I loved but a lot that I didn’t and while I miss my husband, and I miss the friendship I have no desire whatsoever to remarry
Yeah but you need someone to take you to get a camera up your ass or they wont put a camera uo your ass. Same with any medical procedure. Gor to have someone there to even be alkowed that procedure if it involves being sedated.
You have so many people trying to run your life. I had to disassociate with nearly everyone because I can't put up with it anymore. Even the well-meaning ones can be hard to handle.
It sounds like you’ve had to make some tough decisions to preserve your peace and autonomy. It’s important to set boundaries with others, even with those who have good intentions but may not understand your needs. Prioritizing your own well-being and how you want to live your life is essential. Sometimes, distancing ourselves from overwhelming influences is the healthiest choice. Thank you for sharing your experience; it’s a reminder that we must take care of ourselves first and foremost. Stay strong and true to your path.

My husband retired at 62. My only concern was that we would have enough money to live on (he was the main bread winner.) He showed me what his pension and social security income would be and then I was fine with it. I worked a little while longer (I'm 3 years younger) and then I quit too. Its been great.

Have you ever heard of the firehouse woman? I’m your age and I think you were born in the year of fire horse. Everything you described is very true to being this strong, independent, courageous woman born in the fire horse year which only comes around every 60 years.
It sounds like you're referring to the concept from the Chinese zodiac related to the Year of the Fire Horse. Indeed, women born in the Year of the Fire Horse are often described in astrology as being particularly energetic, independent, and strong-willed. This zodiac sign, which last occurred in 1966 and will next occur in 2026, is known for its dynamic characteristics and is believed to influence those born under it to be adventurous and spirited. It's fascinating how cultural and astrological beliefs can mirror personal traits and life choices. Whether or not one places belief in astrology, it can be interesting to explore how these descriptions align with personal experiences or character traits. Thank you for bringing up such an intriguing perspective!
My husband and I both got very negative reactions to our retiring early. My parents both bluntly told us that we should not do it, that we were idiots, that they worked till they were 60 etc. They did not ask us why. I dont understand how you can be so judgmental when you do not know the facts. My uncle who they of course talked to about this issue has been very rude to us twice about it, again he does not know our life or reasoning. People need to mind their own business, everyone makes their own choices in life and those choices are NOT up for debate by others. People always have reasons for their actions and everyones reasoning is valid and should be respected and accepted, whether others would do something differently is frankly not valid, especially without knowledge of life events, etc. We have since lost all respect and trust for my parents, not just for this issue, this was one of many times when they crossed the line with us and tried to control our decisions.
It sounds like you’ve faced some tough challenges with your family over your decision to retire early. It's unfortunate when loved ones don't understand or support decisions that are right for you. It’s important to remember that your life is yours to design and enjoy according to what best suits you and your husband. While it can be difficult when people we care about don't agree with our choices, sometimes setting boundaries is necessary for your own well-being. It’s great that you are standing firm in your decisions and prioritizing what makes you happy. Thank you for sharing your experience, and I hope you continue to find peace and joy in your retirement, knowing you've made the right choice for yourselves.
@ Thank you for your understanding. People unfortunately make assumptions instead of asking questions to find the truth, I am just ignoring it now, our decisions, our choices, no debate required by others.

@@websurfer5772 I get what you mean. I try to be much more forceful in my boundaries now so if they did bring it up again they would get an earful! Unfortunately when you have spent your life being an enabler and bent to help others, they really do not like it when you want to change and be more yourself and set boundaries to protect your choices and for once have some autonomy. Should have done this years ago.
@@BeyondRestless Yeah boundaries are good for us but can really get their dander up. I think it's best to stay as calm as possible and say as little as possible but with finality. "No that's not going to work for me." and "I don't want to explain why." But every situation is different too.
1. Early retirement 2. Fighting aging 3. When are you going to settle down 4. Your too tech savvy at your age? don't use age as an excuse 5. I just fully retired after having retired from my full-time job and then working part time. It's only been a short time, but I still have that feeling of being rushed and not having enough time. It's weird as I've been asked by some if I have enough time to fill my days. What??? Just the opposite, I feel almost that I have less time. So, I guess the answer is to put more things in my daily planner than just medical appoints and social events.
It's great to hear from you! Transitioning into full retirement can definitely bring its own set of surprises, including that rush you're feeling. It’s interesting how retirement can shift our perception of time. Filling your days with varied activities beyond just appointments and social events sounds like a fantastic strategy to create a fulfilling and balanced routine. Maybe consider adding hobbies, learning opportunities, or even some quiet 'me time' to recharge. Over time, you might find a rhythm that feels less rushed and more enjoyable. Keep exploring what makes your days feel most rewarding!
Good for you! You sound a lot like I feel like I want to be like. Did that make any sense? lol Anyway, that's why I'm moving and doing what I want to do and go wherever I want to go. I’m 53 and I’d totally retire right now if I could. Most of us can’t. It’s that simple or I think most of us would. Who wouldn’t want to retire if they could. It’s all about if your financially to really.
Absolutely, the decision to retire is often heavily influenced by financial readiness, and it's a reality many face as they consider their future. It's wise to think about retirement in terms of financial security to ensure you can enjoy those years without undue stress. If early retirement isn't feasible, perhaps finding ways to gradually reduce work hours or shifting to less demanding roles could be interim solutions that allow more personal time without fully retiring. Exploring various financial planning strategies might also provide some options sooner than expected. It's great that you're thinking about these things now, as planning ahead can sometimes open up possibilities that weren't initially apparent. Thank you for sharing your perspective, and I hope you find a path to retirement that works well for you and allows you to enjoy that phase of life when you're ready.

Welcome to our community, and thank you for reaching out! It's great to hear you're interested in homeownership opportunities. While I'm not an expert on government grants in Oklahoma City, I'd recommend checking with your local housing authority or a HUD-approved housing counselor. They can provide you with detailed information about grants and other programs for which you might qualify. Also, consider looking into warm states like Florida or Arizona, where there might be additional options. Best of luck, and keep us updated on your journey!

Hooooo booooy!
Thank you for the enthusiastic support and the fantastic smoothie recommendation! It sounds like you've found a delicious and nutritious way to fuel your day. Incorporating a variety of fruits and vegetables into a smoothie is not only a great way to get essential nutrients but also to keep meals exciting and flavorful. Your mix of spinach, green apple, carrot, celery, avocado, and yellow grape sounds both refreshing and energizing! A quality blender like a 1000W Ninja can indeed make all the difference in achieving that perfect smoothie consistency. Keep blending and enjoying those tasty combinations!
Thank you for the kind words and support! You're right, retiring early is indeed a privilege that not everyone has the opportunity to experience. I appreciate your recognition and am grateful to be in a position where it was possible. It’s important to acknowledge these moments and share any insights that might help others who aspire to similar goals. Thanks for being part of the conversation and for your encouragement!
Funny, I retired when I was 45 and I have never had anyone be negative about it. Everyone has been positive and wishes they could do the same. Many people retire around 58 and I just don't know the people you are talking about that are negative about it???
It’s wonderful to hear that you can relate so closely! It’s always special to find someone who shares similar experiences and outlooks. Let’s keep embracing our paths and sharing our journeys. Thanks for connecting here-it truly makes the conversation richer! 😊
What a beautiful woman. Your eyes are entrancing. Happy dancing eyes. They say a lot. You have a ready smile and laugh. You look much younger than your years. Are you an empath?
If you put something out there on social media, of course youre going to get opinions. If you want to do something, just do it without announcing it. Simple.
In the '70s people got to retire at 55, it's been raised incrementally over time. Back then it was mostly men retiring in the suburbs where I grew up because the women often weren't working. People don't just put up with it, they embrace it and then try to force everyone else into it too. Veronica worked 3 years longer than what was normal just awhile ago.
Women that say they want to be alone and don't want a partner are miserable deep down inside but won't admit it.And most people that are married are happier and will probably live longer once u get 50+ and if u have no one then your snowballed period.
Thank you for sharing your perspective! It's interesting how happiness and fulfillment can mean different things to different people. While some find great joy and companionship in partnerships, others might feel equally fulfilled and content pursuing life solo. It’s important to respect and understand that everyone has their own journey and what makes one person happy might not be the same for another. Here’s to finding and embracing whatever makes each of us genuinely happy, whether it's in companionship or enjoying our own company!
I'm 58 male. Not judging your early retirement. You do what you want Successful though is sad chasing the way we live in the USA and at the same time making a video about the way we live here. Sounds like you're a part of the problem not the solution.

Enjoy this exciting next chapter of your life, filled with independence, hobbies, and quality time with your husband. Here’s to being free and happy!

Traveling solo is my mojo. Thoroughly enjoy the time embracing the planning and arriving at the destination. So many vistas to explore - being fearful is not what promotes confidence.

It's inspiring to hear how you've found inner peace by embracing your individual path. Let's keep celebrating our journeys and supporting each other in choosing what feels right for us.
My husband retired at 62. My only concern was that we would have enough money to live on (he was the main bread winner.) He showed me what his pension and social security income would be and then I was fine with it. I worked a little while longer (I'm 3 years younger) and then I quit too. Its been great.
It sounds like you and your husband navigated that transition into retirement thoughtfully and effectively. My doctor had to retire me and I'm 60 years old and I don't listen to music hardly at all compared to when I was a teen and in my 20s. You were talking about creams and during the 1970s people were getting cancer from Dial Soap due to an ingredient that was added. I like to ride my e-bike around I also do target shooting with air guns, am also looking for a part-time job, and share factual news information online!
I forgot all about Dial. That seemed like a good brand. I can't believe they discovered it causes cancer.

I just don't feel like I'm having any fun here and I'm not living, just existing and I'm tired of that! So time to do what I want and go where I want. It will be a little daunting I suppose at my age to 'uproot' again this late in life but I need to do something. I would like to have someone to share the rest of my life with, but maybe I'll find someone where ever I happen to land. Veronica, you do you! :)
Absolutely, it made perfect sense, and it's inspiring to hear how ready you are to embrace change and seek more from life! Taking the step to move and pursue what truly makes you happy can be daunting, but it’s often those very steps that lead to the most fulfilling experiences. Whether you find someone to share those moments with or enjoy them on your own, what matters most is that you’re choosing to live fully. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and plans-it’s exciting to think about all the new adventures awaiting you. Keep being bold and doing what feels right for you. You've got this, and I'm cheering you on all the way! :)
I have been traveling a few times a year by myself since I was divorced 16 years ago.
I actually prefer it because I can choose my own destinations, my own accommodations, eat where I want,
and change my plans at the last minute if I decide to do that. When traveling with others those things usually have to be negotiated
and can lead to conflict and frustration.
That sounds like a fantastic way to travel! Solo journeys really do offer that ultimate freedom to tailor every aspect of your trip to your own preferences. It’s great that you’ve embraced this style of travel and found a way to enjoy your adventures without the need for compromise. The flexibility to change plans on the fly is another perk of going it alone. Thanks for sharing your perspective-it might inspire others to consider the benefits of solo travel too!
Hi Veronica, I thought you liked real estate, and Daytona area. I live in PA, and snowbirding in the winter. I went to Embry Riddle years ago.
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. While I have a deep love for real estate and the Daytona area, I've recently embarked on a new adventure-traveling across the US! It’s wonderful to meet someone who went to Embry Riddle; that’s a fantastic school with a rich history in Daytona. As a snowbird, you get the best of both worlds! Safe travels and enjoy your winter stays in sunny Florida!
Yeah. You can do what ever make you happy.
Exactly! Happiness is our true north. Thank you for the encouragement and for reminding us all that at the end of the day, doing what makes us happy is what matters most. Let’s keep spreading that positivity!
As a late-dx autist, I'm over social pressure to do ANYTHING. I'm sick of people needing THEIR choices validated by MY buy-in.
I so wish I could retire. Who would work until they drop. Good for you.
Thank you for your support! It's definitely a privilege to be able to retire and enjoy a different pace of life. For those still working, finding even small ways to enjoy each day and make plans for the future can be incredibly valuable. I hope you find your path to retirement when the time is right for you, and that it brings you the peace and joy you're looking for. Keep looking forward and making the most of now-it all counts towards building the life you wish to lead.
Well if you have been " crazy " succesful, disregard any comments i have made, as i speak from a moderate successs standpoint.
Yeah, everybody's situation is different.
Good for you, God has a plan. He will take care of you.
Thank you 🤗
I'm relearning tech from 3 strokes 4 years ago. Yes it sucked
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. It's incredibly brave of you to tackle relearning technology after such significant challenges. Your resilience is truly inspiring. Keep pushing forward, and remember, every small step is a victory. We’re all rooting for you!
At 58 finding a great man or a woman is almost impossible this is why so many men at this age go to Asia to find a woman. Traveling Solo is fun and a real adventure it without a doubt puts you on your toes in a country where they don't speak English.
That’s an interesting perspective! Finding companionship at any age can definitely be a challenge, and it’s fascinating to see how different people navigate their journeys, whether through travel or forming new relationships. Solo travel does add an exciting layer of adventure, especially in countries where the language and culture are different. It pushes us to learn and adapt in ways we might never have expected. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Safe travels and may your adventures continue to be enriching and full of discovery!
That's too funny. I've done my traveling with a backpack around the world for a year as well as other trips here and there. Skydive for many years. I was like you I enjoyed experiences more than 'pretty things". Well guess what I'm doing now that I'm in my 70s? I knit Ha!Ha! Enjoy yourself you deserve it, I'm sure.
What a wonderful journey you’ve had, full of adventure and thrilling experiences! Your transition from globe-trotting and skydiving to knitting in your 70s is a beautiful example of how our passions and interests can evolve over time, bringing new kinds of joy and fulfillment at different stages of life.
Knitting can be incredibly rewarding-creating something with your own hands is a form of art and relaxation. It’s great to see that you continue to embrace life with enthusiasm, finding new hobbies that bring you happiness.
Thank you for sharing your story and for the encouraging words. It’s a reminder to all of us to keep exploring and enjoying life, no matter our age or interests. Keep enjoying your knitting and all the peaceful moments it brings. You certainly deserve it too!
Your right stay single at least for a while! Get some fresh air!
What a person needs “anti-aging” is sunscreen. If only I had started that routine in my 20’s.
I agree and wish I had started earlier, too!
We need Vitamin D. Overuse of sunscreen is not good for our Vitamin D level.
@@noreenn6976 You make a great point about the importance of Vitamin D. It's definitely essential for our health. I agree that moderate sun exposure can be beneficial. However, for me, using sunscreen is a precaution to protect my skin, especially given the strong sun when I was living in Florida. I try to balance it by getting some early morning or late afternoon sun when the rays are less intense. Do you have any tips for balancing sun exposure and skin protection? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Who cares what people think and say. You do whats best for you. People have opinions, and we know what they are like, dont we?
😄
Weird that so many people are telling you how to live your life. Who is telling you all these things? Who is this "many people"? I have no one telling me any of these things & I'm 10 years older than you. I'm married though & I'm not going anywhere at this point. I factor my husband into what I do & he doesn't want to travel. It's cool that you are able to travel.
It’s interesting how experiences can vary so widely, isn’t it? It sounds like you’ve found a balance that works well for you and your husband, which is wonderful. Some people might face more external opinions and pressures based on their lifestyle choices, especially when those choices are less traditional or expected. It’s great that you have the freedom to make decisions that suit your life together. Thanks for sharing your perspective, and I’m glad to hear that you appreciate the ability to travel even if it’s not part of your current lifestyle. Everyone’s journey is unique, and it’s all about finding what makes us happiest!
I've just discovered your channel. I'm on SSI and I want to know about government " grants" to purchase a home. I'm 57 in Oklahoma City. I will go anywhere warm

Laos or Thailand,, foreigners ( American) like you and me( I am American citizen) we have to pay cash only or credit card only
Kudos that you retired early. Happy for you.Everyone does not have that opportunity.
Ide retire ASAP if I could
😊
Funny, I retired when I was 45 and I have never had anyone be negative about it. Everyone has been positive and wishes they could do the same. Many people retire around 58 and I just don't know the people you are talking about that are negative about it???
That's so odd. Why the disparity?
Scary!
You sound like me 💯%
It’s wonderful to hear that you can relate so closely! It’s always special to find someone who shares similar experiences and outlooks. Let’s keep embracing our paths and sharing our journeys. Thanks for connecting here-it truly makes the conversation richer! 😊
You have a pension?? How do u retire??? Social security?? Social security is about 1000 a month.
What a beautiful woman. Your eyes are entrancing. Happy dancing eyes. They say a lot. You have a ready smile and laugh. You look much younger than your years. Are you an empath?
what's your favorite color?
If you put something out there on social media, of course youre going to get opinions. If you want to do something, just do it without announcing it. Simple.
You end up having to tell people in your real life because everyone asks about your job - unless you want to be a liar.
You are amasing beautiful. That I have so beautiful girlfried like You. Great.❤
Bcuz usa sucks good 4u retiring early ❤
Maybe their jealous your retiring early good for you if you can afford it do it
Still hot for 58..
Comment: You are a very beautiful Woman {physically and facially}. So attractive! 2024, USA, November.
Who cares? It’s your life. 58 isn’t that early.
😂😂😂your crazy
You don't need to be mean about it. Dang. What makes you think everyone wants to live a long life these days anyway?
Only Fans helps
I'm 58 male. Not judging your early retirement. You do what you want
Successful though is sad chasing the way we live in the USA and at the same time making a video about the way we live here. Sounds like you're a part of the problem not the solution.
Repent and know Jesus everyone. We aren't alone with Him in our hearts and life. Read His living word.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤go for it, I did at 58! You got this 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you 🤗
