As someone who played the other Nikki games when I was a kid and teen, allow me to say that I let out the most CONFUSED scream when I saw the reveal trailer for Infinity Nikki and I had to straight up double check to make sure I it really was the same franchise because I was so baffled on how we got to this point. Anyways, I hadn't touched the franchise since the year after I graduated high school and I gotta say this game is amazing and I honestly wouldn't mind them taking this route with future additions to the series. This is amazing.

Its just simple economic here. Huge female gamer demographic and rhere is basically none AAA game for them. Shining Nikki and Love & Deepspace shown that there is market for it, and boom Infinity Nikki

Now I play Love, Shining, and Infinity Nikki. My bank account is utterly devastated 🕊️🕊️🕊️

This might be nostalgia but... where did all this originallity go? Early ipad/smartphones games had so much soul, originallity and uniqueness, now all such new games are hidden behind the waves of copy-pasta 3 in a row/anime apps and it is getting harder and harder to find gems like Little Inferno or World of Goo... this is sad... it makes me a bit depressed... at least they've made a sequel of World of Goo!!! Shining Nikki was the prototype for 3D, they definitely used the mechanics of dress up there ( in the 2D games, the clothes awkwardly clip each other lmao)

Hey dont belittle Love Nikki/Miracle Nikki those installments suck the life out of my wallet. In fact when it went EOS i wasnt mad at all, it had a good run and the money spent couldnt equal the happy memories and serotonins i acquired there. So when i saw Shining Nikki and now Infinity Nikki, i already prepared the funds so i can splurge 😤

I myself play gacha games like wuwa and genshin and ininity nikki is so refreshing like its chaotic and i love it its just so chill to play and you don't need 5 star outfits to make great fits, like I don't have a single 5 star outfit yet but i dont need one this game is just wonderful ❤

Honestly it's a pretty straightforward development. Love Nikki might have been the most popular before Infinity Nikki, but they did bring out Shining Nikki in between, which has graphics more similar to IN than LN, so they definitely gathered experience there. As for story, the Nikki games always had rather dark unexpected stories for a dress up game series. From blood curses, wars and the end of the world, you can find several plot points you wouldn't normally think of here. You could say IN was just the logical next step and one of the reasons it seams so unexpected overall, is that as a dress up game series it is primarily targeted at women and as such would not get as much attention in greater gaming circles.

As someone who originally played Love Nikki, then BotW, then was a Day 1 Genshin Player, I have the answer. Exploring new areas with new outfits will make me spend money.

Both nikki dress up queen and shining nikki have very interesting complex narratives. And some of the 3D assets are from shining nikki too since that one‘s 3D and I love that game so much! These games may just be glorified dressup sims with silly lore, but they did take that serious and made it all very detailed and complicated. I mean nikki dress up queen had a major character death woven into one of the chapters and had that shock and grief woven into the next 10 chapters or so. Giving a very strong dramatic shift in tone. These games are ofc mostly based in fashion and dressup. Especially the first 3, but they do really care about the story too. Even event storylines are very detailed and complex. And they will add the stories from events to the games so you don‘t miss out on the lore of events unlike games like genshin where some events will be gone forever if you didn‘t play them. Best i can advise is to play shining nikki for yourself. The story and lore is really interesting and I do also love that you can be perfectly f2p and still get parts of event sets without spending any pink gems on them for most events cause they always give you 1 or 2 10 pulls on those wich guarantee 2 to 4 event items.

To be fair even the game you showed had an amazing and surprisingly dark story, I haven't played infinity Nikki and I don't plan to, but if the story will be just as good as the original dress up game you really have something to look forward to.

On the thing about the characters being animated in Undertale. Someone, on tumblr I think, did an an analysis on this, and to summarize, monster movement is based on how much they want to fight you. The random encounter monsters you face mainly fight you out of obligation, leading them to move a little, characters like Toriel and Papyrus who don't want want you dead being still, and characters who REALLY want you dead (Undyne, Omega Flowey, Mad Dummy) tend to move around more. I'll see if I can find the original post on it.

Shpongle is my favorite, check out Dave Tipper too, most of his stuff wont be released until he retires next year though. Theyre both playing at the gorge in washington next year. I made some fan visuals for no turn unstoned, theyre on my profile.
