World of Goo was one of the first games I really ever played. I was like 7 when it came out, and I've played it more times than I can count, but crucially it's been a few years since I've revisited it. Strangely, I didn't notice the graphics upgrade -- it looks how I remember the original looking (besides chapter 4), through my childhood memories. Chapters 1-3 were a blast, chapter 4 knocked my socks off (the sparklers were SO. FUNNY.) but the ending felt... anticlimactic. Maybe I was just having so much fun I didn't want it to be over, but I could've done with about one more world's worth after chapter 4. Still, holy shit, what a comeback that no one expected!

When it comes to making g social commentary, I always find it best to show whether than to tell. Little Inferno NAILS this, by instead of outright telling the player their message, they let the player see it in themself. When it comes to the “technology bad” argument, I think for most people all it elicits is an eye roll, but by showing the player how it affects them without saying “this is bad”, it invokes a reaction that actually means something. It reminds me of the way cookie clicker exemplifies the affects of greed, however instead of greed little inferno deals with addiction (which can be similar but they are handled differently) tomorrow corp in general has mastered subtle commentary, and i genuinely think this one is their crown jewel when it comes to those themes, even if wog (imo) is a better game.

I love how chapter 4 (especially black stain) represents how as games are constantly pressed for sequels, they end up losing vision of what they originally were. Black stain purposely limits any similarities to the original game, to represent how many games run themselves into the ground with each installment having a new gimmick that doesn’t actually have anything to do with the franchise. 2dboy and tomorrow corp have always been good at hiding commentary in their games, and this is definitely commentary based on their experiences as indie devs

the devs excluding the sandbox tower mode was actually just a leftover from the initial release of WoG, when you could connect the game online and see how high your _own_ tower stacked up compared to other players but i don't think they'd want to pay for the servers long after WoG2 had released, so i can understand them not including it

Does Iconoclasts get good at some point? I played like 30% of the game and just got bored. Very hard metroidvania to get into for me and I love the genre and played like everything well known and more.

Wow this is interesting. So the tileset is obviously stock, I think they even used some of the tiles incorrectly. 2:24 im looking at right now has what I think to be an edge tile that is meant to be just the one edge, rather than the seamless tile. They dont use the corner tiles *at all* and the art style clashes with the tileset and the main character. 2:35 did they even playtest this? 2:36 Coyote time is like... the basics. 5:04 the way this stock tileset was used is infuriating. Also the sheer quantity of different colors. I get you have the whole color wheel but limited pallets just look more cohesive.

I was fiending for a good metroidvania on the switch a year ago, bought this game at random, then dropped it after a day or two out of complete boredom. I legitimately forgot this game existed until I saw the thumbnail, and even now, I forget how far I got because it just fails to leave an impression.

The worst part about games like this is that the game _looks_ good, which meant that at least _some_ people on the development team actually gave a damn about this game and actually tried their best to make a good game, just for the programmer to go "eh, good enough" and launch the game in the most piss poor state possible.

I do not viciously hate this game but the game that you're making a review on remind me of a game by the name of Weipseey and the lost atlas one thing that I do need to make clear is don't let dark side of this game for you this game is hard it gets really hard I'm not sure if I could say it is completely unfair but the witp mechanic just feel kind of inconsistent no the game that bought that I have almost a hatred on this level is Jumanji the video game who in God's name thought it was a good idea to make this into a dungeon defender and not an action platformer come on man and this game was not cheap it was $ 35.00 Anything that truly sucks about Nintendo is if you buy a game you don't like well too bad for you buddy you can't refund it Yeah but as it usually goes sometimes they're just that one game that one thing that ends up putting you in a position that no matter how hard you try defending it is not an option because when you realize what it does to you IT'S ON SIGHT!!!
