Yes, I remember when I was naught but a child, in the year of our lord 2014, a spanish youtuber by the name of Helldogmadness made a full playthrough, comprised of 8 main episodes and an extra episode where he got all the combos, and I watched ALL of it. It might seem like a short romp now, but back then, it was like watching a movie to me, hell there's only one video that surpasses 30 minutes, and some are as short as 11 minutes. That, my friend, was the golden age of spanish youtube, not 2011, not 2013, not 2016 and beyond- no, 2014. This might mean nothing to you, but as someone who watched spanish youtube crash and burn as the years went by, all I can think of when I see this game is one of the best years of my life. never played it tho
That was around the time I watched the letsplay of it I referenced. They really did feel like movies at the time even when they were severely short. Glad to bring you back to more positive times. Would definitely recommend the game, it's pretty good for those more chill quiet times.
Hey, I also used to watch that guy. Mostly his Minecraft mod review videos but also his gameplay channel. I can't say for sure if I watched his little inferno videos, but I probably did. also, i did play the game.
You made me remember another Spanish youtuber calle Deigamer, i fondly remember him playing little inferno and honestly I must agree with you, 2014 was truly the best year for spanish youtubers.
Positively, quite so, and it is that I recall for when I was naught a young child, in the Year Of Our Lord 2014 Anno Domini, an online TH-cam content creator, "Helldogmadness", had utilized recording software to curate a whole compartmentalized session of consuming the video game in question, Little Inferno, of which the unified sessions of which had been divvied into 8 primary compartmentalizations, hereby referred to as "episodes," of ordinary play sessions, and alongside this, something that of an additional bonus episode where the content creator, "Helldogmadness", had sought out within the timeframe of his very consumption of the game, sum completion of all the combinations within the game. Having of course, consumed this entire unified session, I had of course consumed the surplus episode. As it stands in the present day, in the Year Of Our Lord 2023 Anno Domini, it might stand out to the unenlightened eye that such that this series was not as lengthy as would've been originally been surmised by the first consumers of the content in the Year Of Our Lord 2014 Anno Domini, contrarily, within the surrounding short time period these nine had been originally published on TH-cam, that had of course chronologically succeeded these publication dates, the experience was that of something comparable to consumption of a differing form of entertainment; movies. In fact, I exclaim, not no more than one video surpasses the length of estimation-wise roughly 1,800 minutes, yet, in contrast, few quantities possess a runtime of something as non-lengthy (within context of the previously aforementioned 1,800 second video runtimes) as 660 seconds. That, that, my presumed acquaintance, was quite so that of the "Golden Age of Spanish TH-cam". I expound that this period, the "Golden Age of Spanish TH-cam" had not taken place in 2011 Anno Domini, nor that of 2013 Anno Domini, nor even that of 2016 Anno Domini, and subsequently of course, further on in time. No, I say, I say, contrarily, it was solely, only that of, the Year Of Our Lord, 2014 Anno Domini! I bear needless superstition that these words may seem worthless, facile, empty, and far too bountiful for those unlettered, but as a personal eye-witness of "TH-cam culture" relating to Spanish nationality as time progressed further on to today, 2023 Anno Domini, one thing remains so upon my mind, is that of one of the highest, quality-wise, years of my existence on this planet Earth. In spite of this, in all actuality, honesty, and candor, I genuinely admit to not have actually consumed the source material the playthrough had been derived from. Post Script: I find doing this great writing practice.
I remember when i watched the yogscast play this game and the section where you're lead to believe your upstairs neighbour burned to death straight up gave me nightmares
Jacksepticeye's playthrough of this game might've been the first one I saw from him, and it's why I love him still today even if I don't watch him a lot anymore. His series made me love this game, it's such a wonder and unique to its own.
“You can go as far as you like, but you can’t ever go back”. You don’t realize how profound that is when you’re playing as a kid, but it’s a quote I’ve been thinking of a lot lately.
also my interpretation on why sugar plums grew and looks grown now and your character doesnt is because she has actual time to live and grow as a person, while your character wastes his life doing nothing but burning time in his fireplace
When it comes to making g social commentary, I always find it best to show whether than to tell. Little Inferno NAILS this, by instead of outright telling the player their message, they let the player see it in themself. When it comes to the “technology bad” argument, I think for most people all it elicits is an eye roll, but by showing the player how it affects them without saying “this is bad”, it invokes a reaction that actually means something. It reminds me of the way cookie clicker exemplifies the affects of greed, however instead of greed little inferno deals with addiction (which can be similar but they are handled differently) tomorrow corp in general has mastered subtle commentary, and i genuinely think this one is their crown jewel when it comes to those themes, even if wog (imo) is a better game.
The whole thing with returning to something they made a decade later reminds me of DHMIS. It was a youtube miniseries from the 2010's, but in 2022 the creators made a tv show with the same characters and basic premise, and this year they announced a bunch of merch.
Now they did the dlc too but you have to pay to see more than 1 episode of it so nobody does it has like a 16th or less of the views. Talk about a subscription service god damn.
Oddly enough, I still remember the little song during that gameplay. It’s little inferno! It’s little inferno! It’s little inferno just for me! La da Da da da (Might be a little inaccurate, it’s been years after all)
I hadn’t thought about this game in AT LEAST 10 years, then today I was trying to recall the name of this game, and sure enough this pops into my feed. Definitely not terrifying
When I saw the ending for the first time, I thought that maybe it wasn't the actual snow, but an ash. And the reason of the whole "our world is getting colder" is that these guys created a giant ash cloud by refusing to actually move on with their lives.
I ironically play it every Christmas anytime im snowed in its become a tradition for me ever since i watched the yogscast Lewis and Simon play it back when I was a child.
I recently realized that each item shown on the front of the catalog represents the life of Soot Boy as he progresses through the catalogs. In catalog 1, a Chimney is shown on the front, representing Soot Boy buying the fireplace. In catalog 2, the “eager” bunny plushie is shown on front with its description being “glimpse into the heart of darkness” which represents soot boy becoming more eager to burn things (or in other words, getting addicted to his fireplace) but in the process forgetting about everything else in the world (as shown in the ending), therefore becoming “darker”. In catalog 3, the “mystery” seasoning is shown on the front, representing how the story of the snow and the mysteries involved are beginning to pick up/become more relevant. In catalog 4, the handheld fireplace (described as a game within a game within a game), is on the front, representing how Soot Boy has fully become addicted/attached to playing with his fireplace as if he was holding it in his hands. In catalog 5, a lamp with light coming out of it is shown which “meets minimal fire safety standards”, and in that chapter Sugar Plumps burns down her house, and in the process eventually inspired Soot Boy to do the same. Thus, Sugar Plumps is the “light”, the last hope for Soot Boy realizing the truth about TC and the fireplaces and overriding the fire safety controls to burn down his house and escape. In catalog 6, the manly trophy is on the front which is described as having the muscles that are “the one thing men like”, which is meant to represent how Soot Boy has met Miss Nancy’s standards for a perfect fireplace user, just as the trophy depicted the what men believed to be perfect man. And in catalog 7, they show the Transhumanist Action Figure which is described as “more machine than man” and when you burn it a man’s soul flies out of the fireplace, which represents how prior to Sugar Plumps having him burn it down, Soot Boy has become so addicted to his fireplace that he forgot he even existed (as said in the ending) and has therefore become more like a machine, being “programmed” to just burn things all day and not do anything else and lost any sense of identity/personality, and therefore “had his soul leave”.
as a kid i watched a lot of videos on it and finally scrounged up enough money to get it myself.. i remember doing so many runs to get mrs nancys hug ticket to her and always somehow falling flat.... when they made the christmas dlc just last year i instantly purchased both the game and the dlc again, i was so happy to play it again... it feels so nice to actually understand the story replaying it all this time later
I remember the moment Sugar Plump’s house explodes- it always traumatized me as a kid. After that I replayed the game and kept her cardboard heart and the photo of her in my inventory for the entire game because I felt so bad 😅
I'm not sure why I'm suddenly being recommended a bunch of smaller video essay channels, but I'm glad for it! Shockingly high quality and a funny script. Ty for giving me something to listen to while i draw, looking forward to any new videos in 2024
dude, a BananaPieLord video getting referenced is seriously bringing back some nostalgic memories from the animal crossing and minecraft series he made way back then
I find your interpretation of this game interesting. It makes sense considering what World of Goo is, but I always understood it to be a coming of age story. You spend all your time in that fireplace, with your friends and toys, and then they all disappear. Your house burns down and you go around speaking to everyone one last time, and as the sun gets bigger and bigger, your time to be taken away by the weatherman nears closer. Not even he knows what will happen in your future.
A lot of people seems to have memories of the Yogscast playthrough. Never watched them but I always knew who they were. Evidently they had a really good voice for the weatherman.
These were the same guys who made World of Goo! I swear I never have heard anyone talk about that game, it was so fun and I used to play it with my friends in primary school, i remember the day we all finished it and we were so excited, would love a video on that game and it’s lore too!:D
@@qrowing Yeah I saw a comment about the announcement! I had no clue they were making another one, honestly very intrigued to see what they come up with, it’ll definitely be a nostalgia trip for sure
Little inferno has been permenantly stamped in my brain and I don’t know why, Ive always loved the game and it stuck with me. I have a terrible memory but i remember so much of the game especially the ending
I’ve been interested in trying this game for a while now, because 2d Boy is a company/group I very much respect, because of just how important World of Goo was to my childhood. Now that World of Goo 2 is coming out soon, I think if I get the chance, I will.
Sure do. When I was a wee little lad, I played this game countless times on my old Wii U. The burning sounds always made both me and my heart happy, calm, and warm...
What kept this game in my mind was the sudden change from the calming burning of random objects to a full-blown story where you interacted with a snow-covered city. It was one of those things you saw Sean (also known as jacksepticeye) upload hour long videos completing it in one sitting.
During when I was little, I watched someone by the name of Double play through the entirety of Little Inferno. Dunno how they are doing nowadays, but that was a time to be alive in. They also played The Stanley Parable.
Searching for the combos and their effects were the main entertainment (and distraction from the unsettling atmosphere) that the game had and I still love it for doing this so well
Amazing video mate. I'm glad to remember the experience that Little Inferno left on me. Never even realized Sugar Plum grows older until you pointed it out in your video.
Just found this after also playing both the main and holiday stories back to back. I didn't plan to, but I accidentally burned the hug coupon in the penultimate act-
Little Inferno is one of my favorite games ever. I got it on steam in a Humble Bundle ages ago, and it's the perfect, short experience. It was simple and every part of it, from music and sound effects to the graphics, is just a masterclass. I love it so much.
This year's Game Awards actually got me thinking about this! I had completely forgotten it until I saw the World of Goo 2 trailer. Initially, I had thought it was going to be a sequel to Little Inferno given the little characters in the trailer
What's baffling is this somehow got a dlc years later while the PC port of world of goo never even got any additions from the other more recent ports like coop
this game remind me about a game where you're stuck in a prison cell and all you can do is just read letter from random stranger. i remember watch Markiplier played that long ago
I didn't play it myself as I was really young and didn't have access to any items that could play it, but I watched CaptainSauce play it back in the day. Whenever I remember this game I remember the specific Incident on the other side of the wall. It's something that I didn't forget easily.
i was about to say bpl got me into the game then you showed footage of him. god his channel brings back so many memories, glad to know he's at least happy pursuing his music career.
to answer the title: yes. i saw it as a wee child of like, probably less than 10? the messages of consumerism and distraction missed me, but the main thing i remember is a heaviness of my heart as i saw the balloon flying away. i dont even remember what happened i just know that it was the first time i felt existential dread, becoming aware of the meaning of loss as time progresses
It always bugged me when TH-camrs use a song that I liked and Shazam can't detect it so I have to go on a goose chase to figure out what it is. So I figured might as well have a track list in case anyone else has that problem. Always like it when TH-camrs do it.
It takes place in the same universe and has Fisty from WoG and the gooballs re-appear, and little inferno’s lore is also integral to understanding the new WoG sequel’s lore
I remember everything - every little detail in the entire game, I could recite the whole thing from memory, like it was yesterday. It was such an amazing part of my childhood.
Never thought I would see Squee outside of JTHM, let alone anything related to Vasquez earlier works today. Really liked that dark Humor. Now that's definitely a like from me! :D
Absolute Classic! Beat the game in my childhood and loved it. Tommorow Corp have also just announced World Of Goo 2 so maybe theyll make a comeback... I hope.
My brother used to sing the little inferno song at my grandma's house when we were young. I never watched or played it but it was a childhood memory for me because of his appreciation for it
I showed this game to my 4yr old nephew and he was absolutely OBSESSED with it (and the catchy theme song) for months. He still plays it occasionally but he's mostly moved on to anything and everything Mario now. Oh yeah, I love the game too lol. I highly recommend playing this with young kids especially on a touch screen like the switch in handheld mode. It's fun watching them experiment with everything
I expected this to be a multi-thousand sub channel, and I check the count to see less than 1k? Hell yeah I’m subbing, this kind of video is the best thing to listen to while doing things, and you do it pretty well.
I do remember this game! It's short and sweet and it really has stuck with me over the years. You can go as far as you like, but you can never go back.
Inspired me to get it again on my phone. A grave error, now i will be up all night enjoying a cozy little virtual high definition legitimately Purchased Little Inferno Entertainment Fireplace
Ive always loved this gane so much. First exposure was yogscast, and ive played it several times since, i am a big fan of burning stuff and the recent dlc was great. All tomorrow corp games are perfect
I've not talked to someone about this game in years but it still sticks with me and even tho I was still a child when i beat the game I kinda realised that I didn't understand what the game actually meant but it was just a really oddly beautiful experience to play as a kid thanks for reminding me about this very unique game, great vid 👍
I remember this being shown to my Interactive Media class by my old high school teach! He always showed the game deals on Humble Indie Bundle, and show cased this among other games that would peak our interests
This might be nostalgia but... where did all this originallity go? Early ipad/smartphones games had so much soul, originallity and uniqueness, now all such new games are hidden behind the waves of copy-pasta 3 in a row/anime apps and it is getting harder and harder to find gems like Little Inferno or World of Goo... this is sad... it makes me a bit depressed... at least they've made a sequel of World of Goo!!! Happy New Year, everybody! Keep warm during winter!
ngl, when younger me (I wanna say I was around 10 or 11) found out Little Inferno was made by the same people that made World of Goo, I thought I was the smartest person in the world because when I first saw the game my first thought was "Hey this kinda looks like World of Goo, that's cool" Never ended up playing Little Inferno because my family never owned a Wii U and I wouldn't get a Steam account until years later, but I think that was what made me realize that "hey, small groups of people can make more than one game" (heck, World of Goo was the thing that introduced me to the concept of indie games as a whole)
oh my god little inferno i remember sterakdery playing it. it was amazing. i was like, a little kid. it was so fun to watch wtf. I need to go rewatch his video on this game, thank you for reminding me about this game.
I fo remember little inferno, I watched a plsythrough of it when I was younger and I enjoyed it, but there was a feeling I got from it, a feeling isolation, of loniless of just why am i sitting here spending hours of my time burning things.
I knew about this game since it came out, BUT i never bought it until I saw your video. When you got to the spoiler part I bought the game and finished it, so I could watch your video whole
charming lovely game, watched yogscast play it when their videos came out, played it myself and when i completed it a few days later the christmas update came out! i played and loved it then was blessed with the yogscast playing it once again!

Every single time i see or think about little inferno it always takes me back when i was around 7 and was watching my favorite youtuber playing it
I’ve been interested in trying this game for a while now, because 2d Boy is a company/group I very much respect, because of just how important World of Goo was to my childhood.
Oh, Stanley Parable is a good one. You totally reminded me to wishlist the re-release.
Oh my god someone else who discovered this game by watching Double! I used to love his content haha
oh my goddd dude i remember double. he used to play minecraft with chimneyswift and ClashJTM i think.
Dude there’s literally a world of goo 2 that’s been in development since before you made that comment and is now released and amazing
I'll always remember Simon and Lewis playing it
this game remind me about a game where you're stuck in a prison cell and all you can do is just read letter from random stranger. i remember watch Markiplier played that long ago
you must be talking about "presentable liberty"
I didn't play it myself as I was really young and didn't have access to any items that could play it, but I watched CaptainSauce play it back in the day.
Whenever I remember this game I remember the specific Incident on the other side of the wall.
It's something that I didn't forget easily.
its so awesome that they made a DLC ages later, such a good game and yet it still brings fun
i was about to say bpl got me into the game then you showed footage of him. god his channel brings back so many memories, glad to know he's at least happy pursuing his music career.
He's an inspiration. It's awesome that he's doing well.
to answer the title: yes. i saw it as a wee child of like, probably less than 10? the messages of consumerism and distraction missed me, but the main thing i remember is a heaviness of my heart as i saw the balloon flying away. i dont even remember what happened i just know that it was the first time i felt existential dread, becoming aware of the meaning of loss as time progresses
watching mattshea play this was so cozy and fun.
Did you see his new playthrough
@@avimo2565 yes
I appreciate the detailed soundtrack list in the description
It always bugged me when TH-camrs use a song that I liked and Shazam can't detect it so I have to go on a goose chase to figure out what it is. So I figured might as well have a track list in case anyone else has that problem. Always like it when TH-camrs do it.
I literally just replayed it today for the first time in years and this pops up on my feed. Amazing!
I spent years looking for this game. I cannot explain how happy this video made me because I had forgotten completely what it was called
yeah i remember, i remember the tear i shed when i first finished it. a beatiful tale, truly.
Yeah i remember playing this when i was 2 on the Wii U
I remember the yogscast playing it. I still remember it fondly.
Great content and quality. I love to see talented small creators like you blow up. Keep up the great work !
Thank you so much!
Every once in a while, i see a tommorrow corporation game video, and it makes me very happy every time.
Do I remember it? I remember it so well I was offended you even asked me. One of my favorite games back in the day.
Never played Little Inferno, but I HAVE played a game made by the same person/people, World Of Goo, so I imagine I would love this game too
Highly Recommend.
It takes place in the same universe and has Fisty from WoG and the gooballs re-appear, and little inferno’s lore is also integral to understanding the new WoG sequel’s lore
I loved this game
I remember everything - every little detail in the entire game, I could recite the whole thing from memory, like it was yesterday. It was such an amazing part of my childhood.
I remember it. Bought it and the DLC for my friends for christmass a few years ago. Hope they all enjoyed it.
I hope.
Man, i remember watching this, nostalgia is over the top
Never played it myself but the yogscast playthrough was a special part of my childhood.
My brother used to sing the little inferno song at my grandma's house when we were young. I never watched or played it but it was a childhood memory for me because of his appreciation for it
Little Inferno was such a lovely experience. Glad I own it
I showed this game to my 4yr old nephew and he was absolutely OBSESSED with it (and the catchy theme song) for months. He still plays it occasionally but he's mostly moved on to anything and everything Mario now.
Oh yeah, I love the game too lol. I highly recommend playing this with young kids especially on a touch screen like the switch in handheld mode. It's fun watching them experiment with everything
Never heard of this one but lemme tell you I saw the art style of that hand immediately mouthed World of Goo!!! Same guy and looks just as great!
I expected this to be a multi-thousand sub channel, and I check the count to see less than 1k?
Hell yeah I’m subbing, this kind of video is the best thing to listen to while doing things, and you do it pretty well.
Why thank you!
I do remember this game! It's short and sweet and it really has stuck with me over the years. You can go as far as you like, but you can never go back.
The ending of this video was worth the 15:04 runtime alone lol. Great video.
I wish more people would play these games by that developer. I loved Little Inferno and World of Goo, there’s so much nostalgia to be had
This game has always been in the back of my head, thankyou for bringing it back up🙂
Baller video dude, it’s nuts to see this game still producing things, had no clue about the ho ho holidays dlc
Seeing someone go over this game makes me feel so warm, I’m so happy
One of my all time favorite games and holds such a special place in my heart, this and super meat boy were my childhood
Words cannot express how many memories that intro music alone brings back.
I've not talked to someone about this game in years but it still sticks with me and even tho I was still a child when i beat the game I kinda realised that I didn't understand what the game actually meant but it was just a really oddly beautiful experience to play as a kid thanks for reminding me about this very unique game, great vid 👍
To answer your question, yup. Still do, and so fondly too. Tuber was called Captainsauce seemed super fun. Wished i would have played it...
I occasionally download it to play it again. I love it.
And here I've been, thinking about it for the past three days suddenly. Glad to see it's recaptivated some of you, too, and I'm not just insane
Out of all the games in the world, little inferno and world of goo made my iPad gaming years.
I love the game so much. 100% completed it on my switch, it’s such a good time. The story is beautiful and the artwork is amazing.
I remember this being shown to my Interactive Media class by my old high school teach! He always showed the game deals on Humble Indie Bundle, and show cased this among other games that would peak our interests
I am so happy there is going to be World of Goo 2. I pray that there is a little inferno 2.
God, do I wish.
I remember that this game literally made your phone really hot
How immersive, I think
I love that game so much, I constantly think about replaying it
This might be nostalgia but... where did all this originallity go? Early ipad/smartphones games had so much soul, originallity and uniqueness, now all such new games are hidden behind the waves of copy-pasta 3 in a row/anime apps and it is getting harder and harder to find gems like Little Inferno or World of Goo... this is sad... it makes me a bit depressed... at least they've made a sequel of World of Goo!!!
Happy New Year, everybody! Keep warm during winter!
World of goo and Little Inferno are masterpieces.
ngl, when younger me (I wanna say I was around 10 or 11) found out Little Inferno was made by the same people that made World of Goo, I thought I was the smartest person in the world because when I first saw the game my first thought was "Hey this kinda looks like World of Goo, that's cool" Never ended up playing Little Inferno because my family never owned a Wii U and I wouldn't get a Steam account until years later, but I think that was what made me realize that "hey, small groups of people can make more than one game" (heck, World of Goo was the thing that introduced me to the concept of indie games as a whole)
oh my god little inferno i remember sterakdery playing it. it was amazing. i was like, a little kid. it was so fun to watch wtf. I need to go rewatch his video on this game, thank you for reminding me about this game.
How could I forget it's one of the first I ever played. Love this game!
Yeah same!
Haven’t played this game in years and each of those songs brought back vivid memories, one of the greatest soundtracks of all time.
I do because the yogscast placed it so fondly in my heart
I fo remember little inferno, I watched a plsythrough of it when I was younger and I enjoyed it, but there was a feeling I got from it, a feeling isolation, of loniless of just why am i sitting here spending hours of my time burning things.
Genuinely just a really fun video. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next
Thank you!
This was more fun and interesting than I thought’d it be , great vid!
Just actually played it agian last month. Such a cute little game, reminds you that nothing last forever
I knew about this game since it came out, BUT i never bought it until I saw your video. When you got to the spoiler part I bought the game and finished it, so I could watch your video whole
My man.
charming lovely game, watched yogscast play it when their videos came out, played it myself and when i completed it a few days later the christmas update came out! i played and loved it then was blessed with the yogscast playing it once again!
