World of Goo is a game that was a major staple of my childhood. I've been using computers since 2010, a.k.a since I was 3 years old, and my family always had this game on our computer and god I loved the hell out of it. I replayed very recently due to the sequel coming out very soon, something I've wanted for over a decade now. This game has influenced the type of media I enjoy and still inspires me when it comes to my own artwork aesthetic wise. also just gonna say, i think the game lagging during the bits with water and explosions might be kind of a you problem. i have a pretty low end PC and i never run into those kind of issues, it runs like a charm.
@@ProdigitalNG Steam forums has some other people with the issue. I have it too. Basically it's an issue with the AMD graphics drivers that have been released in the past year. World of Goo is just... 16 years old and current graphics technology has outpaced it so it doesn't work properly any more.
Check trailer 2 of world of goo 2 out and the music previews, they are BEAUTIFUL Also trailer 1 of wog2 has lost media now technically since the build used in it is an ALPHA, an insanely early build.
World of Goo is honestly the most underrated game of all time. Fun and challenging gameplay FANTASTIC soundtrack A fun story and message I'm suprised it wasn't talked about more.
i enjoyed it since 2012 down to this day, and was subscribed to Kyle Gabler to follow the next Tomorrow Corporation games, and was REALLY surprised by the World of Goo 2 announcement. It gives us hope and probably will not disappoint any of our expectations.
I learned about WoG and played it on my iPad 2. I didn't even know that it was originally a Wii game until much later. It's like the game was made for the iPad. It was also the first game that I player on iPad that allowed me to use as many fingers as I wanted (hardware limit was 11 touch points). It was truly a great game specially for iPad
Oh you covered this game perfectly! I remember fondly playing this game when I was a kid and it REALLY intrigued me. Then, one day I just forgot about it until 2 days ago when a friend told me there are new songs for World of Goo 2. I was ECSTATIC to hear the news and all the memories rushed back at once. I bought the game again immediately and hoo boy, was it as good as I remembered. I have no doubts the sequel will come out great given from all the trailers and the songs given to us.
6:05 I mean, the Sign Painter does refer to the Goo Balls as delicious and people are canonically confirmed to use Goo as a food/soup, so flavors might make sense lol
This was probably the first indie game I ever played (asides from browser games). I was a kid and only interested in the big gudget aaa games at the time. I think my grandparents bought it for me for christmas, no idea how they found this game since they'd only ever bought me aaa games with big marketing budgets. The excellent music and sound design is what I remember most.
Nice video! World of Goo (and everything by Tomorrow Corporation) is peak I grew up with a potato computer and it ran smooth as butter from my memory, so I think that your copy must have just been cursed, I'm sorry to report 😔 I got the chance to work on some of the music on the sequel which made me really happy as a lifelong fan of the original :)
World of Goo has been with me for as long as I can remember. I always keep it on a flash drive with a copy from our old family computer so I'll never lose it. I recently felt like I was one of the few people who actually still thought about the game since the game is basically pretty dead in popularity. That's why I'm beyond ecstatic for WoG 2! If any game deserves a great sequel, it's definitely this one! After all these years it's finally here!
jsyk the game ran completely fine on an ipad 1, the 2010 one, no lag whatsoever edit : if you want some actual insight as to why the game's shitting the bed, it's probably due to the fact that the game's like 16 years old and backwards compatibility isn't that great, so your drivers are trying their best to run something they don't really know how to run, leading to lag in an old ass game. the same happens with basically all old pc games
15 years ago I got to play this whack ass game before I found the greater internet. A beautiful puzzle game. A great art direction. Just absolute top notch stuff.
Where does this fit into the greater cinematic universe of World of Tanks, World of Warships, World of Warcaft, and the TV show World of Dance? Edit: is Super Mario World also in there somewhere?
RETRACT WITH THE GAMEPLAY!!! 😡 although well you have to be patient and if you don't I highly doubt that you have passed the last levels even so the gameplay is very Very good, if you use physics in your favor after several attempts the result is the best
Hi Markiplier
Hello Lobster With A Gun.

It don't surprise me that the lag is a me problem. GameFAQs also didn't have any real pages on the problem so I figured as such.

The game gives a fuck you by giving gooballs mass and making them constantly knock things down but we took advantage by flying no I’m not kidding.

is the wii point conversion fucked up over there or something? because its literally 1000 points was 10 bucks. just remove the decimal.
